The Halfords ones fit like they were made for the Corrado!
£40 when they are on offer too - made by Tyvek I think.
-
Yep, sounds like a syncro issue so I would change it with the cheaper VW stuff (fiver a litre ), drive it for a couple of hundred miles and then change again to Redline MTL (2 US quarts needed)
Also check cable alignment and engine mounts.
Clean and grease the shifter tower assembly too - on top of the gearbox.
-
If it's the mech then you need to drill them I'm afraid but if it has a Bosch motor then these can just about be replaced in situ, unfortunately the Siemens ones are different and can't be replaced separately to the whole regulator assembly.
-
Yeah ^ I wondered about that too...
Bolts - as above stainless is not strong enough for suspension etc but the VW bolts have that green coating that lasts fairly well so just buy new ones... I was thinking though if I ever go this far with a car I might paint or wax-enamle all of the bolts under the car after they've been replaced and torque'd up just to keep the salt off them.

Sat in traffic in 30deg+ is not fun! How much is retrofit aircon?
In the accessories brochure it's £1600 + vat fitted via Diavia
That was 1993 though so not sure they'll still do it for that price
-
Yep - will work but ideally you want to order a light of an LHD car so you get the reflector - £22 ish from VW
-
Great idea but as above with Liability insurance nowadays it's never going to be viable as a business...
Motor club maybe?
-
They have a trade counter too now which is useful if you are in the east anglian area

:) Sorry... what's on top of the filter housing then on a valver? nothing I assume?
-
Can't actually tell what's wrong with it from the pics but hope you get it sorted!
-
Top of Oil filter housing!
-
With a 32mm thin spanner - best to fit new boots at the same time.
You need to allign the rack so you can get the spanner in between the wishbone and subframe.
-
Check your engine mounts first!
-
They are just over a grand from VW (brand new exchange) but every so often they get reduced to £499 + vat - problem is you never know when this is, you just have to ask if it's on the offers list for that month.
-
LOL, it's all in the Instruction manual... they are not switched either and the fact that they are always live makes them last around 8 years max.
New ones are £16+ vat from VW but non heated ones from a MK2 are cheaper and I've never had them freeze, just make sure you always use proper screenwash...
New squirters make a big difference as does new washer tubing and a new pump
-
So with the switch in it's second position (fully depressed) does it illuminate orange?
If not then it's either the fog light switch or the headlight switch.
-
Not good mate.... sure it's not got a thermal cut out? there may be a plastic pin you need to push back in....
Been following this as I need to do mine, hopefully borrowing a polisher to try soon...
From looking around the kit to get is the Makita 9227CB - the only thing that seems to last by the sounds of it as all the other ones seem to break down, not cheap though at over £160...
-
As above - it's all in the instruction manual!
-
Change your garage! Was going to say the same! Shows a slight lack of understanding of suspension and handling characteristics..
Also sounds like the sort of person that wouldn't notice knackered axle bushes or check the compensator is working... hope you don't get your MOT's done by this garage!
-
In-Pro lenses are not sided (well they are but you know what I mean - they are clear)
You just need to buy and fit some original adjusters but these should really be setup before you buy them by the shop or UK importer
-
main fuel pipe & return fuel pipe VW but the fuel rail to switch i get fuel injection pipe from halfords 8mm no problems
vw parts by ones fit ones :D
Yep - It needs to be the very best quality stuff though as it bends into a U and there is loads of heat... also get the newer style spring clips for the ends, these will also make the hose last longer compared to the original fuel clips.
-
Yep, it's annoying as they were half that only 2-3 years ago - wish I'd bought one now!
-
All VW's use 8mm ID pipe!
On the G60 buy nothing but the original ones from VAG
-
Technically I don't think the car would actually pass an MOT again...
I would have thought ABS would be the one thing you'd want onboard if turbo'ing!?!

Why its sometimes better to ring the Dealer first...

^ As above - I've been doing that for the last few months with TPS, always adding £20's worth of trim bits / clips etc to each order - won't break the back and should hopefully keep the stock / supply chain rolling.
As for the 90mm spliters - they used to be £85 from VW but may have gone up - GPC still advertise them for £75 though!
