  1. Mr David Wort is your man for this one!
  2. Fuel pump may be on way out but more likely lambda wiring... Look at the plug near the rear engine mount and then check the engine mounts too
  3. Have you found out why it melted tho?? ie old fuel pump?
  4. Jim, You already had the MK3 Mounts on you car tho as it's a late 16V - if all you have changed is the rubber dohnuts and bearings then it just proves the old ones were completly knackered if it's sitting higher...
  5. You may find the thread is the same but if not you need a pair of late mk3 VR6 front hoses and maybe also some different banjo bolts - get these from a motorbike shop...
  6. I have a feeling the senders are the same for both size tanks on the valver so the later cars may effectivly have a 20 ltr reserve! I wouldn't worry about it Jim, as long as the gauge works consistently don't change it - next you'll be complaining when it costs you £70 to fill up !
  7. Might just be a dodgy tank of optimax - I've had a few...

    195/50 on 7J?

Rainsport 1's are great, especially for this time of year - you can get these in 205's

    Arcing

Stick some insulation tape round them for now but yes new leads needed... CM - VW will sell you individual leads...
  10. According to ETOS the studs should be 35's altho it's not always correct! The head is similar but the G60 has sodium filled valves and extra porting on the exhaust outlets...
  11. Yeah you may be able too... Take the batteries out of you can tho and look for a factory reset procedure in the manual (may involve holding a button down when turning on etc..)
  12. Look for cracks in the unit - just the right time of year for these to fail...

    195/50 on 7J?

I think 195's are ok - must look slightly stretched... I'd go for 205's I think
  14. Welcome to the forum... Have you got a VAG dealer nearby?? - I think you just need 021 198 155 You will also need the plastic compression tool which a VW dealer should have or be able to order
  15. Traffic Film Remover - get this from a supplier of industial pressure washers - usually about £10 for a 5 ltr concentrate.
  16. Yep, as above UK cars had only an option of the dealer fit Davia A/C...
  17. Same on my TDi - works on resistance but the scale is backwards on a mk4... I've picked up a new mk4 sender but it looks completly different - will have a go at bodging it eventually
  18. Yep, there should be 2 senders in the oil filter hosuing, one for oil temp and one for pressure IIRC
  19. Yeah the Cheese fitted a clear LED strip from a High Level light that Halfords sell to the top of the window and it's still holding up well - I was a bit dubious at the time as alot of these aftermarket LED things are badly made and the connections fail... Henny's looks superb tho, very well finished indeed - I think there is info and pics in his Gallery.
  20. You got to love eBay - you can order the housing and lense plus bulbs etc for less than £30...
