  1. LOL - makes me feel better about the amount of times i've ordered something just to 'see what it is'
  2. Yeah - check the level mate they all have it... if it's ok then it's a duff sensor, usually casued by topping up with tap water or incorrect coolant used in past - new tank is about £20
  3. dnac, please keep to your existing thread http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=50615 It's completly pointless starting a new thread about the same problem, just 'bump' the old one.

Or fit aftermarket? - far more room then for engine access etc
  5. Fronts? - you need the Lupo upgrade - have a search on here for info - also in the knowledge base!
  6. ..Or try the 'B' key if you have it - it will start the engine and then cut out if imobilised.
  7. I bought one only 2-3 months ago... there is a joker on eBay that sells all sorts of stuff as rare and obselete that you can still get.
  8. VW AH profile keys are about £3 each but you can get versions with a light off a mk3 and the G60 or 16v special edition ones for about £15 (or £35 off eBay!) VW used to cut them for free but they don't generally keep key cutting kit anymore - Morrisons seem to be the best place to go, never had a problem with Keys cut there...

    Try the old leads...

What make leads did you use?
  11. MK4 Rear discs do not have the taper bearings, there is a seperate hub and wheel bearing.
  12. Thanks for all your help, That's the Image I'm after. The Daddy
  13. The Pilkington ones are not very good and seem to cause problems with the wipers (flat spots) - Only go for original Sekurit glass
  14. The arms come off then there is a big nut underneath (not very tight) and then one other one that holds the mech to the scuttle - unplug the motor then maneuver it out!
  15. Get the front and rear done on insurance - tell then you had a long bit of wood in the car  - happens alot!
  16. Release bearing would have (or should have) been changed with the clutch... Maybe an engine mount?
  17. There is a speed sensor on the top of the gearbox - you'll see the wires going to it... this is what feeds the speedo.
  18. Yes mate - worth having! It's basically a re-print of loads of press articles - I already had most of them but it's nice to have them all in a book form...
  19. Nice one - also this is quite cheap too... http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/WEBSITE ... 1855206730
  20. Could be an earth but it sounds like they simply dropped the gearbox on the sensor (which is about £15 from VW) but check the wiring to it first as they may have stretched it if they forgot to unplug it - tw4ts! FYI - Most Dubsport customers seem to end up at Stealth getting there poor work fixed! Ian sold it years ago mate and since then the reputation has gone down the pan, don't know why these people sell the name as well as it always ends up going down hill (TSR etc) - he now runs his own company making custom exhausts.
  21. Hmmm - could be a wheel bearing I suppose but if it was that bad I would have thought your wheel would have dropped off by now... VAG discs never seem to warp in my experience... Was going to ask if you stopped on the brakes alot and kept your foot down (gives a kind of warping effect as the disc cools) but that would knacker both sides... New calipers were £55 the pair but that was a stupidly cheap trade price as one was NOS and technically they had to thro it away... (they are usually £35 each I think)
  22. Yep had it on the G60 when the battery was dead - 6v but i think the noise was more to do with lack of cranking ampage
  23. Could be knackered calipers - I recently fitted brand new ones to the TDi and wasn't expecting a difference in performance as it felt the same as other G60 braked cars i'd driven but it's like having twin pots installed...! Were the brakes ok after fitting - just wondered if the hub face is not clean... Also make sure you clean the pad sliders on the carier with a screwdriver and copper grease them so the pads move freely... Is one wheel hotter than the other after a normal journey?
  24. Check the battery voltage itself before going any further - could simply be a knackered battery, right time of year for it
