The water guages on all VW's a calibrated so they should sit bang in the middle most of the time.

You can try and open the roof manually either with a screwdriver or allen key depending on age - just watch it drops down or it will scratch (if the mech is the reason it won't slide)

As above rust is a problem but obviously easy to spot... Servicing is nice and cheap as it's basically a fiesta, the only downside of this is so is the dash! Racing Puma - simply awesome, really good all round performer with a tuned version of the 1.7, a little harsh for a daily driver but cornering is amazing... They should have made a 'Racing Corrado' as this is what we all seem to be aspiring to! If she can stretch the budget and fancies a bit of fun then go for the FRP, they are now getting to the 7k mark and I reckon they will hold the value well.

I reckon it could be a loose connection in the slot mate, maybe one of the pins has dropped out?

After seeing some GSF and ECP rads after a year or two I really would get one from the dealer - you pays an extra few quid, you get the plastic elbow, bolts and seal and it will last 5 times longer...

The fan thermoswitch is only working at stage 2 if the water is getting to 110c in traffic...
