  4. Welcome to the forum! VW Spares sell BERU ones at a good price... The Quantum ones sold by VW have been re-designed recently and are meant to be a lot more reliable but only time will tell!
  5. Yeah - you really need to take VAGCOM along when looking at anything like this...
  6. Could be one of those plastic rollers worn out and casuing resistance...
  7. dlmb500, changing the ECU and Fuel pump relays would be a good starting point (cheap and easy too)
  8. You tried spraying some WD inside the cap Phil, and inside each lead? (just let it drain away before putting them back on... Could maybe have damaged the ECU when jumping the other car but that would have been very unlucky? - din't short the leads or get any sparks etc did you?
  9. Probably just a knackered sender in the tank mate - just co-incidence that it happened after the oil change.
  10. They get noisey as the bearings fail... you'll need a new one really mate
  11. Welcome to the forum! When was the fuel filter last changed? Do you hear the pump running on after you turn the engine off? Also - is there pressure in the fuel tank when you undo the cap to fill up?
  12. Could also be a vac (air) leak...
  13. You can convert to late indicators but you will also need the fogs with the plastic surrounds too... See the article in the knowledge base...

  15. They used to be a bin part at the dealers but I get my stuff from Audi now so had to order a few in last time... VW used to just give them away...
  16. Welcome to the forum! That knocking may well just be the exhaust moving about on old mounts - try some powerflex ones...
  17. Does the light stay on and not go off? If so just check it's plugged in etc (on the servo under the master cyl)
  18. Nice one! Hows it going mate - not heard from you in a while?
  19. Helping a mate finish and tidy up an ABF engine transplanted into a late mk2 driver.... He is still using the original clocks and we are trying to find the wiring that feeds the rev counter, the original coil wire's are still there but most of these seem to terminate at an 'ignition amplifier' under the scuttle with only a black wire that doesn't - not seen an amplifier thing on a mk2 driver before? Also where do you take the signal from on the ABF, the coil? The engine seems to run fine but I did notice what I think is a hall sender plug (under the dizzy cap) can be unplugged and makes no difference to the engine??? Hopefully someone on here has done a similar conversion?
  20. They are £50 MK3 haynes manual for procedure Did they clear the codes?
