Difficult to pinpoint on a VR - look for white stains on pipes etc, the plastic temp sensor housing is a known weakpoint... If you really can't find anything and suspect the matrix then you could have it out the system with a bit of plumbing but not in this weather!
-
Yeah - I think PhatVR6 has done this...
-
The pump and the valve block is one unit unfortunatly on UK Corrado's... Before you change anything I would get the system bled with pressure bleeding kit and also check the ABS ECU connection (pass footwell) and the ABS relays (behing glove box) The reason to check the above is that they are both in places that water could get in either from a leaking door membrane, windscreen or heater matrix...

Jesus - just read this.... Yeah, got to agree with Matt - go to see them asap in the first instance but say you've sent a letter too just to go thru the proper chanels... Thats really bad - did they think it was just going to pop open or something - idiots... they may have also bent the door frame seal so after its repaired you need to check for windnoise at high speeds - because of this do not accept a payout for the damages - just deal with there insurance until its fixed and you are satisfied...

Dunno about the half covers and how well they stay on - my mum uses one just for the windscreen and that works well... The Tyvek cover in medium that Halfords sell fits the corrado perfectly but this is a full cover and really should only be put on a clean car so not really practical for daily use...
-
Nah - doubt it...

Haha - looks like it... Seriously tho - where are these fecking pics???.

3 year warranty tho remember mate...

Daily Mail!!!! - I've warned them about this before... I was going to order a sump but they are going to have to sort the newspaper situation out first... was the crossword unmolested?
-
craigowl, yeah thats fine, I think the other setting you used was measureing AC (~) Now try the same with the engine running - should be between 13.8 and 14.5VDC
-
Yeah - thats what I was thinking...

Cheers Lee - any idea how to change the bush?
-
Is there a bush inside the bell housing that needs to be changed when swapping starter motors?? (engine is a VR6) If so does this come with the new motor? TIA
-
It will be the gearbox mount - look for oil leaking out of it, replace with one from a mk2 diesel
-
Ah ok, cheers guys...
-
As above, Gazmans starter has packed up and I have a brand new G60 one sitting here - I think it will fit physicaly as they are both 02A but the one I have is only 1.1kW - is it worth trying or will it knacker it?? TIA
-
Why not!?! - The thing with VW dealer parts is that they may be a couple of quid more than motor factors but one they fit and two they last 4 times as long....
-
Yep
-
The boots have now been superceded by mk5 Golf parts which are plastic rather than rubber so should last much longer...
-
The above os the VW part number for the 90A, the 65A one is about half the price...
-
Have you got one to exchange? then if so use this part number 051903017X
