JimsG60's Corrado G60 (New pics taken 13/03/2005)
Supercharged replied to Jim's topic in Members Gallery
Nice wheels but where did you get those strange looking wiper arms from?? -
I'd put 33 in front and 30 at back to start with and adjust from there...
-
Sunroof - check drainage channels
-
I bet the engine isn't original tho...
-
Still cheaper than the dealer tho... Mine was less than £12 from Turn2 inc shipping...
-
Good man, I see there not on ETKA as they were only fitted by the dealers... I take it they must have had some sort of number on them tho... what about going back to the people who made the badges for VW??? Interestingly ETKA lists the 'JET' side trim...
-
Talking about Mk2 Ashtrays... anyone seen the new Focus? http://www.sniffpetrol.com
-
They didn't make a Polo Storm mate! lol I take it you have an idea on how to get some more of these?? - If it helps I know they did a Golf Mk3 TDI Storm which had the same badges (or same script) as the Corrado ones... as you know they were dealer badged like the 'supercharged' badges. 8)

What about a G60 conversion... ...I'll get my coat
-
Maybe its the same??? - I can't remember the reg of the Tipex edition... I missed this at e38 but I did see a Green 'Storm' with grey leather at Ragley, I think you were with me Jim at the time... it did have solitudes but they hadn't even colour-coded the grill... muppets. I think we should make it a forum rule to debadge any of these when we see them and give the badges to genuine Storm owners who have had them nicked or lost. VW's fault really for selling these to anyone without checking the VIN numbers like Ford do with parts for the FRP.

They also used the 2.4 VR6 as well I think...
-
  Dinkus, I'd get the body shop to fix the water leak... It wasn't leaking before the accident was it? Ride Height - As Kev says there must be something wrong there, The late VR's have high suspension and his was much higher than mine as standard but nothing like yours... Must have used the wrong parts somewhere... :?

My Mums (Mint) Mystic Blue Mk3 Golf got ran into a couple of weeks ago while stationary, the other parties insurance arranged repair at one of there 'approved' bodyshops... She had the car delivered back to where she works at lunchtime and I've just had a look at it and I think I prefered it with the huge dent in the tailgate  The work is awful and its clearly visible it has had an accident and been repaired, the boot really needs slamming to shut it (she even noticed this and they fobbed her off) the panels are out of allignment, and the rear lights stick out too far, bits that should have been painted havn't and the ones that have show imperfections in the paint finish... The tailgate has not been replaced (she was hit fairly high up) and you can still see its twisted around the lock bar and the bumper that was only scratched and looked like it only needed painting has been replaced but with what looks like either the wrong one or a pattern part, visible lines where is moulded and the grey bit at the bottom that should be a seperate part isn't and you can see where its been masked off (not even straight)and painted... I can't beleive they let it out the place like that, it really is awful! - thing is what to do now, The job is sooo bad that I don't think I want her to take it back to them as they obviously have some sight problems, I take it she can request it to be fixed elsewhere as the accident was not in anyway her fault... Are VW approved places worth going to?? there is one but its about 50 miles away from us...
-
At least the car is at home and your not stuck on a roadside with a puncture trying to get them off... :? You must have a bit of pipe somewhere or the handle of a trolley jack you can use as a bar...
-
Corrado wheels are the same size as mk2/mk3 Golfs....

changing brake fluid and bleeding complete system with ABS
Supercharged replied to jedi-knight83's topic in Suppliers Forum
Apparently you don't (I thought you did until recently) - I think this came from Bentley manual and only applys to US cars... Just don't get any air into the system otherwise you have to go through a very indepth VAG COM procedure involving 4 people and depressing the brake pedal 170 times before ABS will work again! -
cheesy, I'd be very interested... Apparently the trade price from SEAT is about £220 inc vat (without the hoses) so anything under £300 is good.
-
Yeah, it comes up as 'cover' on ETKA, If you order the abs rotors then etka recomends you to buy that also
-
No, seperate Items... the bumpstops are what they say they are, ie they stop the car from bottoming out over bumps... Usually when doing a suspension change you will need to buy front top mounts and rear bumpstops but its wise to get them both all round as they don't cost much compared with the labour involved with doing the job again... I got my top mounts from GSF and they appeared to be VAG items (I used VR6 ones tho...) but I have heard several people getting pattern ones of lesser quality so maybe best to have a look at them first as it may depend on what they have in stock, saying that I think its best to get the GSF rear bumpstops as the FEBI ones they sell are solid rubber and won't disintegrate like the VW foam ones, you just need to trim them with a knife or hacksaw if you are lowering the car or they will bottom out to easily.

Take the stereo back out again and try...
-
Thats 1 inch wider than standard so they will roughly stick out another half inch each side...
-
ET 35 is almost standard for 4Cyl cars (ET33) so they should not be neccessary unless the design of the wheel is causing clearence problems with the calipers... as for sitting flush with the arches, it depends on the width of the wheel...
-
Plus the fact that it all comes complete so no messing around with headgaskets and timing...
-
Tesco's by any chance???
