  1. Induction Kit and Badgeless grille to start.... then we'll see ;) Will work out if I can s/c it at some point, as that would be entertaining..... Also having cruise control added soon which will be nice.
  2. Enjoying the lazy drive that is the Passat at the mo, but I'm sure I'll be back ;) (I was in Cowes and Newport today with work - just thought I'd mention that since you replied! lol)
  3. I'll be back one day... even if its a cheap (!) 1.8 16v run-around toy!
  4. Well tonight saw the end of an era...... (but for those pre-empters out there, not the forum don't worry!). Yes, I've sold my Corrado. My intention was to just garage it for a few months then decide, but a mechanic mate of mine, once he heard I'd bought another car was straight in and said he'd give me whatever I wanted for it. I decided to let her go for £3500 with the condition of removing the stereo, sub, angel eyes and a couple of other little bits. Current bad bits were the rusting rear wheel arch and driver's door and some other minor issues (ABS hasn't worked for a couple of years now, but light does the on-off thing for the MOT ok!). I've picked up myself a Passat B5 Saloon in dark red with cream leather interior, gamma radio and 6 cd changer, climate, rear spoiler (woo!) and the best bit: 2.8litre V6 30valve engine on 84k, and Synchro/Quattro drivertrain -- all for the bargain price of £3k. Will post some pics up at some point.
  5. I can safely say asking that question on a Corrado Forum will get you a pretty unanimous answer of keep the Corrado ;) Heater Matrices blow of Golfs too - same part! Engine's pratically the same too.
  6. Nothing wrong with a Fiesta 1.2S Zetec - exactly what the Mrs drives and I nick when the C is off the road. And 180km/h = 111mph, which is about right, downhill! £25 of petrol to fill and does more than the C's £60 ;)
  7. C is London SE and is now not much further away. And funnily enough, Passat is Brighton, yet I'm buying it from Bristol, so its nearly coming home again :)
  8. There's a Search you know ;) http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... 2711#92711
  9. As Darren said - it plugs into the back of the clocks on a G60. So probably the best place to start ;)
  10. It's rated at 193 hp, 207 lb/ft of torque. Chippable to 210bhp and some more torque though apparently... ;)
  11. I'm picking up a V6 30v B5 Passat later this week, however, I doubt I can charge it as its mounted inline and not transversley ('cos its a Synchro) so there's no room for the Supercharger :( Bit too tight in 'ere!
  12. 24V Renshaw, I'd be interested in your findings, as I need to find details of what I can attach to a V6 30v too... ;)
  13. Sounds like classic ignition switch failure. Check the Knowledge Base and/or use the Search. As for your head unit - remove the shelf from below the glove box, and the side panel, and you can get your hand up to behind the stereo to pull the cables into the gap whilst pushing from the front.

    Whos Lights?

    He rubbed who off!?
  15. The Corrado's clever intermittant system is controlled by the relay - so I would lean towards it actually being the relay itself. You can replace with one from a Golf, etc, but you will lose the set-timer function.
  16. Top choice John. Wanna go halves? ;)
  17. Exact same happened to me about a month ago. Got a complete mechanism and motor from a breakers delivered next day for £50. Easy to fit, and a lot better than my old mech was before it died.
  18. I assume it was an Auto.. why not just knock it into Neutral? Do they have something stopping you from doing that when the gas is down? The bloke looked a right twit anyhow.
  19. I have 19" and 21" combo on mine... fits fine.
  20. I recently replaced my wiper mechanism due to a part of it snapping, and the wiper performance themselves has got so much better than is was pre-snap. So maybe your mechs are wearing and not helping matters either.. (Apart from you, Kev.)
  21. I've received serveral complaints about threads in the off-topic section. Any threads that contain offensive posts - regardless of warnings - will be removed and the originators may face a temporary ban. Please consider this a warning to those currently abusing the off-topic section.
  22. Suppose I better add my 2p.. My only fear about tackling the CCGB is the fact that its been 'rejuvenating' for the past couple of years, and sorry to say its failed. If two years of CCGB bosses can't get it back up and running, then I fail to see why I should waste what very little time I have on flogging what seems to be a very dead horse. Not everyone has computers? C'mon, 50% of the population are now on broadband, and even my Gran goes online to do her shopping now. There would be very few 'new' members who had no access at all. Is it worth rejuvenating an old format for the 20 or so club members who can't get online? It would be like a new single coming out on tape, just in case you don't have a CD player yet... Great for the 38 people left in the UK who still use tapes, but pointless, money-wasting exercise for everyone else. The biggest problem with this is that everyone is talk. "Yes, I'd be up for that!" Yet, 2 months down the line, work committments, moving house, drug abuse, you name it, all the excuses leaves one person high and dry doing 8 people's work. This is an old can of worms, which has already chewed my hand off before, so I don't really want to restart this debate I have nothing against the CCGB per se, apart from the fact the current head was the first person to be banned for abusive behavior on the forum, and I feel that involvement will end up hindering the CF rather than helping. The CCGB have been more than welcome to advertise their events on the forum, plus discussions on how to contact them and where the site's gone are frequent. It's like buying a written-off car. Cheap, could be fixed cheaply and might see you well, but everyone still knows its written-off...
  23. Woah, old skool... and old software....
  24. Same here, funnily enough, but struggling to find a suitable UK forum.. Kinda gives me an idea :)
