  1. Right, I've tried this out but with no success:( I built the coil pack up as described and wired to your drawings. The only difference is I have to use spade terminals. The car didn't even want to start! I was thinking could it be my wiring as I just used bits from old looms I have which are I'd say 1.5 to 2mm so I could plug into the original plug. I've been to the scrappy today and picked up another calibra coil pack and the plug with plenty of cable left on it. I tried the pack and still wont even start. It could be that I have brought two duff coil packs but for it to not even fire up roughly, I think its something else? I have pulled back the boot of the vauxhall plug loom and with it plugged into the pack the thick cable which I assume is 12v+ is on the opposite side to your wiring diagram? Some help would be great. I just need to know where the other 3 wires are meant to be assuming that is the 12v feed?
  2. Great write up! This has helped me out a lot. Just a couple of questions. What is the minimum wire gauge I should be using? Also I have the original vauxhall type plug for the coil pack. I was wondering what size/type terminals I need to order to put in the plug moulding? I was thinking of ordering them from Vehicle Wiring Products. If anyone could advise that would be great.
  3. How much would you want for both wing mirrors and possibly just the spoiler, not the mechanism?
  4. I've been thinking of making one up for a while now using silicone hose but with the addition of a catch tank. I was just wondering what angle the main pipe has to be? I was looking at 135 degree. I think it's probably best I take my spare pipe down to a car parts place near me that has a selection of hoses and go from there. That one from Awesome does look like a very good replacement though!
  5. Hi, do you still have this car? If so I'm interested in the passenger side wing mirror and the boot light. I don't know if I've already asked about the doors. Do you still have them and what condition are they in? Thanks
  6. God that does look like a right pain in the a**e! Well done for giving it a go though :)
  7. Hi there, do you still have that vr6 0bd2 loom you mentioned a while back? Because I'm still interested in buying it off you.

    Cheers,

    Rick

  8. Thanks for the offer mate. I am still desperately after one. Is the engine still in the car you speak of? You would be able to tell by some of the plugs in the bay. The lambda plug would have a rounded end if it's obd2. Also the plug for the throttle body? It would be a lot easier to get a loom off of one of the other guys but they don't seem to be getting back in touch.
  9. I have sent pms to both of you but it doesn't show it's been sent? Can you check please.
  10. Cheers, that would be great if you do.
  11. After buying one off ebay, it seems it has been fiddled with. So I possible still need one if anyone has one they can offer?
  12. I need a spare loom to try on my converted Corrado. I would like one in good condition and complete. I'm having some strange lambda issues. If anyone has one they would like to sell, please let me know, cheers.
  13. I've been with Greenlight for about 3-4 years now and it hasn't really changed that much. Just awaiting the renewal very soon, watch this space.....
  14. Only just seen this. A really good project you've got going on, well done!
  15. As people have rightly said really. It's been quite a while now since I carried this out, so I'm not exactly sure what it was. I had to do something with the aux water pump wiring. I took a piece from the rado loom. You can obviously use some other wire if you come across this, so you don't wreck a perfectly good loom. Sorry for being vague. You may not come across this. Maybe there was something missing on the golf loom, who knows, eh. Good luck with it all. You'll really notice the difference!
  16. Yeah it's looking that way mate. The problem is I've been using the car as a van for some agency work I did for a couple of weeks and it's been really getting to me. One because of the way it's running and two because of how dirty its been getting! I feel as though the condition of it is deteriorating rapidly. I see lambda activity on throttle, nothing above 0.500v. Then at idle it sort of drops down to zero. I don't really get any adaptation happening, maybe the odd occasion you might get some percentages happening, but only for a second or two a on the lambda %. I do see a lambda value of -14.1% but I'm not sure what it is, maybe LTFT? I'm not sure if the code disappears after it's displayed? I think it stays stored? Thanks for any advice you can give kev. Perhaps anything else I could check on vag com that I don't know about, like fuel trims? I know taking it to Vince is looking like my only option now, but I need funds for that, oh well.
  17. Parts replaced/swapped so far: Inlet manifold gaskets Exhaust downpipe, checked cat Recon injectors ECU Crank sensor Cam sensor Cheap denso plugs, may try some NGKs? Lambda sensor x3 Bosch items (Wiring has been checked) Fitted separate lambda signal test wires Checked for vac leaks Compression test (All six at 180psi ish) Things I was thinking of swapping: Coil pack Throttle body Denso to NGK plugs Evap purge valve Fault codes: (00525 Lambda sensor short to ground) Symptoms: Rough idle pulsing, maybe a slight misfire on idle. Fine on the motorway 34mpg. When sat at the lights you can see the mpg going down. It's not going into closed loop. The car just passed on emissions for the MOT. It had high CO, and the rest normal compared to the last test. Any other advice would be great. I'm out of work at the moment but as soon as I can afford it I'll have to bite the bullet and take it to Vince at Stealth.
  18. Yes I understand what your saying. But I'm not entirely sure its going to cure my problem. I've just got laid off work so I really can't be spending money on stuff that isn't the problem. That's why it might be better to swap with someone's known faultless pack, to be sure.
