My winter maintenance period is beginning to draw to a close.. Ive started collecting some bits for next winter already but ill collect over the year and spread the cost so that i can address the next projects which primarily are the brake lines and other associated components and to revisit some powder coating underneath.. Today i got this, new header tank, cap, powder coated bracket and all new screws.. Once fitted it looks like this.. Thats 2 bottles done with 2 to go, both in the post. the brake one will wait until next year and i may leave the power steering as well as there are a couple of jobs to do on the system, it may be wise to do all together..

Without going through 24 pages of stuff how much coolant should i put in. We are up to G13 now, i doubt this is really any different...

Could someone take a picture of their VR6 rear engine mount please? It is so i can see how the bracket for the O2 sensor wiring is fitted and the correct way for the cable to run.. Thanks very much in advance..

Not an ideal start, hope it is an easy fix.. Sorry for not answering in the pm but here you go.. Garage, i haven't used this guy but he was recommended to me by someone i know who has a lovely Rallye.. Anniesland Car services (0141 959 4387).. I think mine will be going there in the near future.. Body shop…Not sure, ill do some homework, I've never needed any bodywork yet so am no expert..

There are others on ebay although I've no idea really what I'm looking at...

Well my old man came to the rescue. With some strategic jiggling the long bolt for the starter is in. We couldn't get the other bolts for the bracket out so i still have the rusty bracket on but hopefully i will get a mechanic to sort it.. Tomorrow i intend to lay all the wiring correctly in the starter area and then i have some more powder coating to get done. While thats away i intend on changing the fuel filter and getting all these wheels sorted...

I don't have one of these but if you find one and need a hand posting it over i don't mind doing the honours..

Power steering cooler pipe plus the two hoses that go to it (1 from the pump and 1 to the header tank) available..

That would be great, I've been pleasantly surprised at what parts I've managed to get from you when I've phoned up and its just been an on the off chance call.. Following an enquiry earlier to VW : power steering hoses (to the cooler) and the cooler itself are no longer available.. exhaust hanging brackets no longer available.. Just a couple of bits i can think of that are a bit different to the normal requests..

I think it is a record mate.. Yes chuffed to secure the correct spanner.. all being well i should have the wheels by the end of the week and then off they go again… Ive had to call in the A team to help me sort this starter and mount out.. My dad is coming up for the weekend, i told him he could have a cuppa when he arrives and then its car time.. He is used to working on a 1973 MG so mine should be a walk in the park..
