I agree James.. Yes some perishables will need tended to but axle bushes aren't that big a deal.. Its still got about 60k less of stone chips on the front end and the mileage is good... I say again, lets stop talking the values down.. Good cars, or low milers deserve a good price..

Sump is 70 odd, gasket in the 30s, plus the VAT.. I think the bolts are about a pound each...

All the clips, brackets etc are still available from the dealers as are the hoses... Stand by for parting with around 120 for the lot..

I dont really know how to describe it. The sump is perfectly serviceable, its just cosmetic.. I will be painting the new one, have you got a picture of what finish you were able to acheive..

Collected this little today from the dealers... Sump, bolts and gasket All bits to change the flexible fuel pipes, clips, brackets etc.. Bit of a sit down moment but when its done its done.. The old sump has never been bashed or anything it is just starting to look a little porous. Im wondering whether i can paint this new one before fitment to keep it nice.. The old one has lasted 18 years and it is me being picky.. Im sure it will be fun to change when i get the chance..

I do like the engine plastics in grey, works very well against your dark paint work... Have seen this on edition, nice car..

The map I'm getting is to suit the cams.. I just wanted to know if it was needed that the car would run well until a time i get the cams in..

I do like the noise from the BMC but ill be keeping a standard air box. If anything i might be map first then cams although i will try and get the cams in shortly after.. Loads of time, just interested in opinions..

Interesting stuff.. Ive no doubt about what Vince knows.. I suppose its the real differences I'm after, if that makes sense.. I know the dyne figures aren't that relevant but we all want a good score..

I am looking for a variety of opinions into those that have these cams in their VR6s following the group buy and any others who have them from before.. What are the cams like on their own? anyone ran cams and then had a map to follow, much change? how does it affect the petrol consumption? anyone got cams, map and a VSR/schrick? You get the idea, any opinions or info and any dyno figures would be good...

Only 8, slip of the keyboard.. Interestingly we moan about parts and how hard they are to get. I was parked next to the overall show winner who had a 1950s Humber, i think a pair of screw covers noty being produced would be the least of his worries...
