  1. Ive just put Conti Premium contact 2's on my solitudes have so much more confidence now in the wet them pirelli p6000s were damn right dangerous
  2. Thats what i said above fella check the abs sensors they are on every wheel start with the front ones they have a connector block plugged into them
  3. Does sound like an abs problem mate, had the symptoms you describe with the buzzing and hard brake pedal, turned out to be a couple of sensors had gone AWOL. Cant remember now whether the abs light came on when the buzzing started or not.
  4. Does your ABS light come on at the same time i would say you have a sensor that either needs cleaning up or replacing, VAG-COM is the only way to find out for sure. Also might be worth making sure that all the sensors are connected fully as maybe one has been knocked as the wheels have been removed or replaced
  5. (NB: Reversing caliper pistons on the Corrado without relieving the back pressure created in the feed pipes by using the winding tool has been known to blow the ABS valves and cause permanent damage. So do open the bleed valve so no back pressure builds up, applies front or rear calipers.) Applies to all cars with ABS
  6. Did you undo the bleed nipple to let the excess fluid out as you pushed the piston back
  7. The rear caliper pistons wind and turn at the same to anti or clockwise, most people buy the tool from halfords or a motor manufacturers
  8. Wasnt it the passenger wingmirror that wasnt working?? Also when you put the ignition on does the ABS light come on then go off ?

  17. Yeah Dave told me about your rack being the issue on your car when i spoke to him a few weeks ago. I had the Track rods off last weekend though and couldnt feel any movement in the rack pulling on the inner rods. Really hard to work out as it only happens when the car is moving. Might be an idea to put the car on stands and then run the engine through 1st and 2nd gear to see if I can trace it that way. Don't fancy lieing under the car while it's doing that too much though. I have to get to the bottom of this before I go FI as I think that will just exacerbate the problem, it's been bugging me for months! Graham was really pulling at the track rods to get them to make the clonking noise i thought i could live with it when they showed me but i returned a few weeks later and told them the clonking noise was doing my head in so new rack installed car is now clonkless
  18. Hmm, I just got a quote of £23.50 inc discount from my VW man! :( Seems a bit steep to me. I WILL get to the bottom of this noise one day! Let's just hope it's nothing to do with the Wavetrac diff! Next stop is taking the O/S driveshaft off again and taking a look at the gearbox flange, but that's another topic. Mine had that clonk when accelerating turned out to be the steering rack i had it at slow speeds aswell, as the wavetrac is putting more strain on the rack
  19. Gutted for you Paul, hope your alright buddy. The amount of hard work you have put into it aswell gutting
  20. You can get up to 2005 via the mot history checker(type into google) but you need info off the V5 doc or MOT doc
