Happened a couple of times now leaving work start the car (stone cold)and the car idles at 1200rpm and slowly rises up. I turn off the engine start the car again and it idles as it should from cold at 1100rpm and drops to the usual 680ish rpm after a couple of minutes of driving. Whats the likely cause of the revs being high to start with ? Cheers

Vibra technic engine mounts for vr6 are they worth doing ?
Jon_vr6 replied to john46's topic in Drivetrain
Ive got all 3 vibratechnic fast road mounts all good here -
No thats fine. I mainly asked just for future reference lots of threads end with no solution being posted so when people have the same problem and search they end up with no answer. You on the otherhand did so all good.

If they buzz its usually down to a loose connection had it in mine. Heated seat element Wire partially broke caused the relay to buzz, bit of soldering jobs a goodun

Put a flat head screwdriver between the fog and indicator. That should then pop out the indicator. pull it towards the left side if its the drivers the right if its passenger side. Undo the light bulb connector, next you should see two screws in the centre of the plastic surround. Unscrew these then the surround and fog light should come out as one.

Have to agree i had the same problem on mine, thought it was the starter motor but turned out to be the positive cable from the battery to the starter motor. Cleaned it up and started first time and touch wood has done since (2/3 years ago)

Im apparently a nutcase having sh!t loads of spares but all i say is im thinking ahead. Rather have the part with me then spend a week finding a part.
