I see, so could I use a second oe sender connected to the original with a t-piece to run a gauge? Or are they simply an on/off device?
-
Thank you. I've done some digging and found the t piece I'll need for a new sender and some suitable gauges. However the ones I'm looking at don't have senders with them, so will any pressure sender work with any gauge? Assuming they're both 12 volt and will fit the car.

The oil light on my 1.8 16v has been coming on intermittently along with a beeper. I have found that this is likely to be the sender on the head at fault as oil level is ok. Saying that the top of my dipstick is broken but there's plenty there.. But I thought I'd cut to the chase and fit a proper pressure gauge. Does the car have wiring for this? If not does anyone know what kind of sender I'd need please?

Having rebuilt my front suspension I was so pleased with myself I celebrated by changing the auxillary belts. Whilst crawling around in the wet I noticed the anti-roll bar looking vunerable, right down near the ground. Yes I'd put the arb to wishbone links underneath the wishbones not on top as they should be, dumbass. That was so much fun to put right that I congratulated myself by losing the brake compensator valve spring...

I have a set of BBS 15s from my now dead E30. 7j and 18mm offset. I calculate that they will stick out by about 30mm and have slightly more clearance inside. However a drop of about 45mm combine with 205/55 tyres equal much rubbing on the front. So does anyone know how to restrict the steering lock? I'm not usually one for putting style before function but they do look boss in a kinda 80's way and the tyres are are the best ones I have.

I always thought if your sex was on fire then you should get down the clinic..

No, directly from the pump's outlet.

I've made a new pipe for my 16v to go from the fuel pump to the accumulator as the original fell apart. Now though I can't get any fuel from the pump. It was running fine before and the only thing that has changed is the pipe. The pump primes and runs during cranking but not a drop comes out, and yes there's plenty in the tank... All I can think is it's airlocked, but where?

Thankyou. The engine I'm looking at is from a Corrado so that's ideal. I was just concerned that the cars electrics may have been different.

Hi all. I'm looking at a 2 litre kr to replace the rattly 1.8 in my '90 16v. It is still on a subframe with g'box, rack, loom and injection system ect. Does anyone know if I can just bolt the whole lot in, plug and play if you will? Or would the donor car have had an imobilisor or different ignition system to make thing even more fun? Unfortunately the shell has been scrapped so I don't have alot to go on. Cheers

How have you secured your sub box/amps down
Ralphead replied to Son of a Beesting's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
Although I haven't done anything about this in my Corrado yet (the mots still a way off) In my other cars I used a ratchet strap on the rear seat mounts. Not pretty, but after putting an Astra on its roof with the sub going through the back window and the amp wedging itself between my head restraint and the roof I don't care about looks. Are these Audioscape boxs shaped especially for the C? -
Ive got a Thunder Tiger DT10 (I think) Would a tarmac shell fit it with some new mounts? Wheelbase is 10.5" sise to side space between the wheels about 6.5"

If it is the dash fan vent letting water in then don't use si;icone to seal it, it rusts steel (and smells savage). Gripfill is the stuff but don't use too much 'cos else it gets everywhere.
-
I've had tyres too narrow for the rims before and the sudden "break away" over the limits of grip is scary. Not exactly progressive! 7.5' is alright for 205's but nearly too wide.

Thanks, I'll get some Golf ones and get busy with the copperslip. I've got a Goodridge hose on my push bike (don't laff) and it made a big differance. I sorted the camera so this is what it really looks like...

Well I thought I'd fixed my camera but everythings a gone bit blue.. So this is my 16v, its a bit worn and a little tatty all round. I'll put it through a mot and go from there. It'll never be a show car as I'll be using it everyday but it should clean up alright.

Medical glue is superglue, just with a blue tint to it. I don't bother with plasters on me hands anymore, just glue cuts together. Anyway, the mirror. I used Gripfill on my Astras one after giving up on those joke pads. Looked savage, worked wicked.

Cool thanks everyone. Well, yeah, I've found new faults today, the heater vent cables have come adrift and some animal's fixed the leaky rad by covering part of it with glassfibre matting! But at least it has floors and paint ect. Bit of a novelty for a car of mine! I'm in lovely Launceston, lovely that is if you avoid the tramps and needles...

Hi everybody. Iv'e been skanking around the forum for a month or so to get a feel for owning a C. The help and info I've found was invaluable to me when looking at what's now my car, so a big thanks to everyone really. My Corrado is a 90' 16v in helios/ink? blue with a Karmann interior (anything special?) standard apart from a big zorst and some TSW Paces im gonna bolt on.The car's been sat unused in a shed for best part of three years and needs a fair bit of work, nothing serious just lotsa minor stuff really. With this being my first VW I'll probably have loads of stupid questions for you all, just speak slowly and clearly and I might get it! lol. I'll get some pics up when I figure my camera out.

Well, I wasn't going to start posting till I'd actually picked up my C, but hell, that is a lovely herd. Perversely I really want the Volvo...
