  1. :? I really don't think so but hey I have been wrong b4 so.. I don't believe you will be able to use the 92.8 mm crank in a g60 block either, atleast not without modifications.... good luck. Let us know how you got on as I'm interested 4 my car.
  2. just checked the bentley manual for a pg block and it confirms cylinder bore diameter as 81 mm as I believe all 1800 cc VW engines are ???
  3. wouldn't the bore be the wrong size for your g60 pistons? which 2litre block are you planning to use? I only ask coz I am considering doing the same att. cheers.
  4. and the g60 tran should bolt straight on these engines huh?
  5. ctwg60,can you expand a bit on the importance of the 220 mm block height. Is is to get the proper CR or does it have to do with fitting the engine ancillaries to the block,or both? thnks.
  6. Ok first things first. Source a block. Will any vw/audi 2 litre 4 pot with a bore/stroke of 82.5/92.8 mm do ? The RP and AAM passat engine codes have a compression ratio of 9.0:1 so I thought this block might make a good starting point ?! Will I need the transmission from said block or world a G60 tran bolt on ? Also I have read that PG and H1 blocks have improved oil/water ways to cope with the stresses of a supercharged engine,is it Russian roulette picking a block from N/A engine? err..I thinks that all for now. Thanks in advance Robert.
  7. It was nice to meet you, Glad you got it all working. :) catch ya later. Rob.
  8. lol..thnks for the pics guys so close to bed time. I may have nightmares. :thumb right:
  9. thats a fair comment if your doing loads of miles I guess. :)
  10. I live in Reading but I'm in Staines sometimes at weekends etc if you want to travel a short way?!
  11. You have hit the nail on the head mate. So what do you think of going the 1.9 route. Did you not consider it?
  12. You should see the Stealt new VR6 running-in procedure!!! 500 miles at no more than 3000 revs Oil and filter change 500-1100 miles at no more than 3500 revs Then for each 100 miles increase max revs by 100 until you get to 5000 revs/2600 miles !!!!!!! It nearly killed me :) how to torture a corrado owner. Written by stealth.
  13. That'll be my 1.8T Corrado then  195bhp is not bad for a std KO3s Motor! My car used to be a valver though so going 1.8T was a more logical step forward than you guys with G60 motors! It has lots of torque, it's making max torque at 1950Rpm! With a Remap i'll be looking at 230-240bhp, if I wanted a few more tweaks then I could KO4 it and get an easy 280bhp, If I go crazy i could either IHI VF34 it or Garret GT28/30 it and get 350+bhp! All probs for less than it would cost to get a G60 upto that type of power! So for me a big power G60 motor just seems pointless and v.expensive! You make a good point.... I'm sure what I'm considering seems fool hardy but its just what I want to do. Its like the 16vg60 conversion. I have heard that talked of as being a waste of time as you can get similar or better power with a tuned 8v g60 engine. But I can respect why someone would do it. As corrado engine bays go they are maybe one of the most impressive to look at too IMHO.Maybe more so than a VR.I guess though thats a matter of taste. Anyway, would there be a world of difference in a 1.9 to a 2 litre?
  14. Very clean. woz you at poddington on the 7th of this month ? Saw a similar setup there in a car the same color.
  15. i'm going to e38. Those are impressive numbers in your signature.I might have to sneak a look under your bonnet if I see u there. 344lb/ft. Does it make that sort of torque through quite a wide band of rpm? It must pull like a tractor. :thumbleft:
  16. 0.579,I guess this would have been taken after the cat thus it should be less than the 0.7 +-0.4 or what ever it is !?? p.s I rekon u should go for a pulley kit and and an sns chip b4 you get a fmic IMHO. :offtopic1: :thumbleft: But your going to the right place for advice.
  17. She passed    The only thing It would have failed on is the license plate light ,which they quickly fixed 4 me anyway. A few advisorys etc but all is good. best of luck with the maintenance/mods etc. The RSR outlet gives a very nice acceleration tone imo.Addictive 8) . I must contact gwerks myself as I understand they can supply an oil cooler. cheers.
  18. yeah I remebered measuring the resistance when I was having those running probs b4 and it was in spec. Nah I've never touched the thermostat. I just rekon its a combo of the smaller pulley and hard driving  It is running very nicely at the mo tho,and the idle speed is normal now. I have bit the bullet and put it in for its MOT . Should get it back at about 16:00 :shaking: New toys? always good! :)
  19. I just don't find it as apealing ..... It won't be a g60 anymore. :|
  20. brilliant, thnks this is exactly what I was after. Lots to think about.. choices to be made and money to be saved. 8)
  21. Hi She's behaving well, although oil temps seem to average 120-130  I'm gonna buy an oil cooler on payday me thinks. Ok,I adjusted the CO and idle.Got idle down to what I believe to be about 800 rpm but the CO didn't seem to want to go below 1.5 %. What gas tester did u use? Did you buy one, borrow one or did someone set the mixture 4 u? cheers
  22. Hi Dan Hope your well. cheers 4 the input. Robert.
