  1. I just asked for a g60 pump. Take in your vehicle number if you want to be sure so they can match it to the year of the car ,although as already said it won't be the original item anyway. I think its the same one that you get in a vr6 but a dealer will have no problem matching it to your car. Expensive though.
  2. I was cremated by a ford Focus earlier this week. I have just got my car back on the road and was driving around enjoying the way it pulled and feeling pleased with life. I think it had an RS badge on it can't be sure didn't get close enuff. NO WAY that thing was stock. It drove past onto the A33 southbound just past junction 11 m4(Nice stretch) and then waited for me to come up behind him. Then he made the jump to light speed. Never seen anything like it. There's always a bigger fish.
  3. i dont 8) Lol,good 4 u.
  4. r u sure its coming from the cam and not the cam belt tensioner? I had same sound. The bearings had collapsed in the cam belt tensioner. You need to rule that out quickly and if it is that stop driving it.(Obviously). :)
  5. 1st thing you want to do it get the charger serviced as already said. So then if/when you get the tuning bug you know you have a sound platform. Obviously a g60 is nothing without her charger. Anyway,I hope the car brings you as much fun as mine has. Down side is you get hounded by scoobys,RS's and the like. :?
  6. hmm, that was close. Ya can't go dying on me mate,I might need more advice in the future. New aftermarket bumper or just replacing stock one with another one? Sorry i'm nosy :)
  7. see 1st page of this post for people in your area. cheers
  8. I had a similar prob. I kept having to jump start every few days. I suspected the alternator until I checked the output voltage at the alt when the car was running. It was about 13.5volts. But when I went to the battery it was about 11 volts. It was the cable between the alt and the starter.Cleaned joints up etc and now all is well. Check their is no disparity between the output voltage of the alternator and the battery voltage when the car is running and that it is charging at a good voltage level. My glovebox has a switch inside. If you knock it when you stuff sh!t in there then the light stays on. Not good for the battery :)
  9. Had a quick go at continuing my fmic install after work.
  10. I also tried to remove my headlights 2day,but i decided in the end that for what I needed to do i needn't take out the headlights,as I could just take the whole front panel out.I think with the panel out I think I may be better access to the recessed rounded screw!? The whole front area is suffering badly from rust.I took the old intercooler out and one of the screws were so badly corroded it just snapped in half. I'm going to have to replace about a dozen screws etc..
  11. Well just got the thing working ,but now i'm taking bits off again :) spent a soggy day under my carport removing the front of the car so that i can install a FMIC. Will post some more pics as and when I make more progress with it. look at the rust :doc: Can i replace that section?
  12. yeah,my rado certainly gives the AA boys something to do every now and then :)
  13. When I see a nice corrado out on the road it makes me smile and i think to myself hmm.. i've got one of those :)
  14. Do those things just pull apart then? I need to do some checking re the below fault code. 1 Fault Found: 00285 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor: Front Right (G45) 35-00 - -
  15. Jabba. I have retrieved what I needed via vag-com anywy so i'm not going to the trouble of taking the ECU out. Maybe the flashcode feature only works with the standard Digifant ECU as you say.!?! Or at least not with a Jabba chip.
  16. I have vag-com software + 2x2 and ODB2 cables. Also have a VAG 1552 at the mo?! I live in Berkshire . Slough by day,Reading by nite. I travel around the south UK a fair bit through work so people can always ask etc. 8)
  17. I've had no luck with using the LED method to flash codes but i have just read an ABS fault with VAG-COM so at least I know the port does work. :|
  18. Hi Curious. Has anyone sucessfully got flash cides from their G60 when using an aftermarket ECU ?
  19. Couldn't be arsed with fidling with the dizzy in the end. Re-timed engine paying more attention to the auxillary pulley this time i.e the distributor pulley. Car is flying now. Seriously I was shocked,it pulls like the proverbial steam train. Gave her a good 50 odd mile run out.Through town,on A roads;and on the M4.She came through with flying colors. Damn these cars are awesome when they work. Now i can fit my FM intercooler thats be sat in my house for two week. Oh and DanVW;cheers . :D :thumbleft:
  20. So I have the engine running with the blue temp sender diss'ed off as my ignition timing is off. I have loosened the retaining bolt at the base of the distributor, but I can't seem to get the thing to budge. I tried just grabbing it but then i got a nice shock from one of the ignition leads. Is this some kind of dark art? cheers
  21. engine starts, idles and drives smoothly every time now. Normal oil running temps. Clear exhaust fumes changed ecu relay for starting issue and fuel pump for running issue. So getting there..i think. However the car is very flat. I guess its coz I have changed the cam belt and maybe the aux pulley was slightly off when i reassembled. (That was the hardest pulley to stop from moving when aligning all the timing marks) Thus I guess the ignition timing may be slightly off?
