  1. Not surprised u have no money looking at the spec list for your rado  Looks like the only way i'll be going is on the bus. I will bear your suggestions in mind although I changed my ignition switch last year..........
  2. From reading around it looks like I need to ask for a sender as well as it will be likely my present one will not fit the new pump :censored:
  3. Checking the ignition timing is on the back burner now. The fuel pump is not priming the engine when turning the ignition on again. I have changed the fuel pump relay and the fuel filter. I have ordered a fuel pump and if that dosn't work I will be dousing the corrado in petrol and setting light to it. Burn baby burn. Are you going to the GTI festival?
  4. When replacing the fuel pump I don't need to replace the sender unit as well do I?!! The fuel guage works fine.
  5. plastic cover is off. Ok The assembly is very reluctant to move. Which part am I applying force too.I don't want to be too heavy handed and break something. ta.
  6. so shall I hit it with a modifying devicde ? :) Does the hall sender position matter?..... I have aligned all three timing marks a la Bentley and the various guides on this and the Canadian site etc. But if the dizzy isn't fixed where it should be then this would throw out the timing no??
  7. Hi mate, I don't mean the dust cap;I meant what I believe to be a plastic cover over where I believe the retaining nut is. Although I may be wrong on this?!? (See Arrow on pic above)
  8. Hi sorry but i'm a bit stuck on this one. See the black plastic cover in the pic between the dizzy and the dizzy retaining clip. How do I get that off? thnks in advance.
  9. Ok,2 questions I can't help but think that when priming the fuel pump sounds slightly different. I hear that when they start to go they become noisy? If I buy a fuel pressure gague kit is checking the fuel pressure easy enough 2do?
  10. http://www.matey-matey.com/g60-guide.shtml see also the intercooler section on this page. ta.
  11. Here? see pic. I guess i have to do it by feel?!
  12. Hey, So i'm looking at the base of the distributor and I can see the retaining clamp at its base but I can't see how it is fastened. I need to adjust my ignition timing. Any pointers?! thnks yet again.
  13. yeah you need the appropriate star type socket to fit over it.
  14. changed ignition switch last year. The syptoms of that were that none of the usual ignition lights were coming up on the dash(battery light water temp etc),where as they do now?!??
  15. tried ignition this am as I was gonna quickly change the relay b4 work. The pump is buzzing again now?!,Must be intermittent. However the strangest thing is that relay position 12 is empty.!?! Now there is a lone relay that isn't pluggen into the board, but just hangs loose suspended from the wires that it is connected into to. I have always wondered what this relay was for but I have never looked into it. Maybe it is the relay for the fuel pump?!
  16. No really! Did you ever see the episode of the Simpsons when homer designed his own car? Well the car he designed reminds me of a scobby. :)
  17. horses for courses, i think i'll leave mine stock. 8)
  18. do you mean like the fuel injection system hose clamp jobbies as feautred in the link posted by stan 24v? Just incase I get a blank face when I ask for them. I'm looking at the manual now tryin to get a fix on the hoses u mean. The blue and black ones?
  19. I've got to go to a vw dealer 2day to pick up the company load lugger(passat) so I will let them bill me for a fuel filter. cheers.
  20. I did think about that. if it was just the rough running still I would, but the fact that the pump dosn't buzz anymore when i turn on the ignition makes me think more relay or the actual pump. If changing the relay dosn't help then I will change the pump and filter. Wot do u think?
  21. just curious if you fellas thought the pro's out weighed the cons,i.e have you blocked off your chargers? I did at one stage but then someone convinced me to put it back to standard.
  22. Hi Dan, fuse position 12 according to the bentley bible. I just bought one so fingers x'd.
