  1. would you happen to have pics of the hid capsules? pics of the beam on corrado? beam on your GTI? just curious since you make them sound very bad.
  2. Yes it is much easier to install all 6 ballasts when I removed the old tired motor with the stage 4 one. I like the fact that all 6 ballasts is hidden. If you are interested in in McCulloch I can hook you up. just send me a message. thanks
  3. I was going to use this intercooler but i would have to sacrifice safety by cutting up the bumper reinforcement so I decided my safety was much more important.
  4. yes once the rado is up and running it will be tuned on a dyno. by then i will hope to have a graph for you all. someone has to be the first or different when it comes to modifying. it gives the other guys an edge over the other.
  5. it depends on the barbs you use at the sandwich plate. some are just push fit and some require the clamps. so as long as you know what barb you have then just follow the manufactures instructions. for me i have the push fit ones but still added the clamps for some security and peace of mind. for your second question if you Cu pipe is the same diameter of the oil cooler inlet and outlet the old clamps should suffice but if your Cu diameter is smaller i would suggest using other clamps. good luck
  6. Actually the names "Watson" but I'm not a doctor!! i'm on it now for you :D best if you got the part number
  7. yes this looks like the manifold. great work sherlock :D
  8. I can source a manifold and have it shipped to you. then you will need to modify it yourself as I don;t have time to even finish my corrado now.
  9. sorry i don;t have the part number of the intake in question. the audi 5000S turbo was 1986-88 or maybe called CS turbo but the one pictured does not look like the original one i had. the ports in your picture looks smaller and it did not have that runner diagonal of the intake runners.
  10. Right I see! So you can't buy these off the shelf, you have to make them yourself? Who made yours? Whats the advantage larger runners? Or is the fact that they have a straight longer run into the ports of the head? Well you can buy an Audi 5000S turbo manifold but you will need to cut and weld it to make it work on the corrado. I cut it myself and had a friend of mines weld it before I got my TIG welder now and the ceramic coating was done by a company for me. The advantages of larger runners is 25-30% more straight air compared to the stock G-60 one hence increasing the output with the same amount of boost. check out the difference of stock G-60 vs Audi 5000S Turbo
  11. Thanks buddy! The rear engine mount is a solid rubber mount for a GTI and it has the Prothane Polyurethane insert in it. As for the intake manifold it is from an Audi 5000S Turbo and one of the intake runners was cut off and modified for four and the throttle plate was cut and rewelded.
  12. Although it may not look esthetically pleasing it was okay. Might need more bungee straps to secure it better in place but the scirocco had poly mounts and added to the vibration . On stock mounts it should work fine I guess?
  13. this is probably the best scirocco I ever owned. NA fast and handles like on rails. short spirited driving clip http://www.imagestation.com/4207130/4235524759
  14. Not too crazy about the beetle green color but that is what the previous owner went for. this was another one of my projects. like all my projects i do everything myself. yeah i'm certified
  15. this brings back fond memories of all my sciroccos. :(
  16. We call the bumper support "rebar". the FMIC is kinda big and long so the bumper support is definitely in the way. The only way to fit it is to cut it so the FMIC clears. If you have a frontal collision then say bye bye.
  17. no i don;t submerge the front of my corrado into water but with snow, sleet, rain, and all the 40 to -40 degree weather we get in canada is pretty close to it. LOL!!! McCulloch claimed that their kits can be put into water with no issues so I'm just verifying their claim.
  18. Since water is a known enemy of many high voltage electrical equipment. I wanted to test my HID lights to make sure they will not cause me any issue even with the slightest amount of moisture. with over 20K volts passing through the high tension silicone wires and AMP connectors everything must be high quality, waterproof and perfect. test duration was 8 hours and it made the water hot. not boiling hot but hot
  19. i think they run on a higher voltage than 12V though. :D
  20. well the finished chrome depends alot on the preparation and effort you put into it. If you want like a really mirror shine or what they call show chrome you would have to buff the bolts on a buffing wheel until they shine before you dip them to chrome for a super smooth glass like chrome finish. i was lazy and just wire brushed it and it came out a bit satiny, which is okay for me.
  21. some members was asking me how hard is it to install and if I have them installed in my ride as well. So let the pics speak for themselves as I have three kit. Yes 6 ballasts and 6 HID capsules installed in my project Corrado. If you want the stealth look it will take more time to install the ballasts away from sight. installation of 4 ballasts first checking for clearance three igniters per side all that spaghetti going through this hole individual fuses for each HID light loomed the wires they are going into my euros. HID foglight installation today i was playing with my HID setup and remembered some members asking me for pics of the lights on. so here are some pics but unfortunately they are not taken at night. they are taken inside the garage and beam is on the garage door. the high beams are a bit too blue for me so I will be changing them out. I'm not a fanatic in tinted blue lights as they look more rice than nice. After getting all the ballasts, igniters, etc... installed into my c. The high beams wires are not long enough to connect them to the igniters. It would be a big job to relocated them so I thought about it and came up with HID Amp connector extension. some people would wonder what the hell is this guy talking about? There is nothing on the market for these and because of my situation make a pair of these would save me time and work just the same. Innovation works!!!! So here are some pics because I know all of you love my pics. Parts you need: AMP connectors. consists of male and female nylon connectors, male and female metal terminals, silicone seals, locks, etc... of course you need TV-20 silicone wires. how it should look once finished strip and leave about 5 mm of wire exposed pass the silicone seals in first and note direction. female terminal with silicone wire position before crimping after it is crimped push terminal through connector do the same for the male terminal pass it though and use locks to secure in place finished product you can see each wire has a different connector as this wire is used to extend only. here it is now in use lights on
