  1. similar setup for the passat should work on the corrados. Although twin tips looks good I think performance wise it will not do much unless you have two rear mufflers. If going with one muffler the key is to get the exhaust out as fast as you can.
  2. thanks mate. In order to get something done they way you want you got to do it yourself. I designed my exhaust system so that it can be removed easily in sections. Each resonator has its own flanges so it can bolt and unbolt easily even on jack stands. I'm going to be fabricating a test pipe with flanges to replace both resonators when going to the track and a free flow catalytic converter with flanges to replace one of the resonators to pass emissions and keep the exhaust note on a more tame side. Going with a off the shelf exhaust you are limited to what is available on the market. :salute:
  3. thanks mate. the fender pulling will happen when it goes into the bodyshop for paint.
  4. I would disagree they will be almost as good as HID's :notworthy:
  5. These SSR wheels come out of the manufacturer's door like this. I made the RS001 to be dual fitament so I can swap them on a 4X100 or 5X100. BTW if you didn't know the RS001 is a forged instar and not your cheapo cast wheels. VWs are hubcentric meaning that the centerbore of the wheel will take the load of the vehicle unlike bolt centric vehicles that rely on the lug bolts. So this is perfectly safe for all you sketchers :salute:
  6. yeah that is a CO test port. just plug it.
  7. yes they are still heated. the metal heating element is still intact and the glass goes over it.
  8. Well I installed 3 hid kits and they make night into day. one bi-xenon and two regular single beam.
  9. I got them from Ahn Nguyen from Dub Industries. The glass is not flat so the GOOP fills in the void and holds good.
  10. removing the catalytic convertor didn't want to come out finally out installation of race header side by side comparison
  11. maybe the addition of another resonator or free flow catalytic convertor will reduce some noise. I have a custom made exhaust I fabricated after my Eurosport reace headers with two pretty big Magnaflow resonators out to a supersprint rear muffler. I will need to add a catalytic just so the police do not harass me . Eurosport ceramic coated race headers ball socket joint of race header and i added a flange for the first magnaflow ss resonator second magnaflow ss resonator and flanges again end of second resonator with dual 90 degree mandrel bends leading over the axle. Sebring stainless steel axleback muffler dirty chromed oval tip a pic from the rear
  12. while all you guys are lowering your rados I'm the only one that had to raise it up to the max on my coilovers to fit my Oettinger wheels. lol!!
  13. The four dishes ran about 700 usd and I use collinite 476S to protect them.
  14. original mirros look like shit pry from all four corners and carefully disconnect the heated element terminals carefully separate the original glass from the heated element. new mirror need to buy some goop now and stick it to this got that tube of GOOP voila
  15. Monday morning I went over to Exact Wheels on Hymus to pick up four BBS RM012 that I left with to get straightened and repainted. Brought them back home and first thing is to pass the tap into all 120 threaded holes in all the barrels to clean and ensure the new gold bolts fit perfectly. get some masking tape to tape the basketweave aaround the barrel so you will not damage it when you are taping the holes here is my tap and vise grip contraption. i find it better than using the T handle and quicker. After building like over 50 sets you will find ways to improve the procedure and streamline the process. you start the tap with the vise grip 90 degrees vertical and after you get the tap into the threads I push the vise grip down horizontally and continue to screw it in. Once that is all done next is to place the Schmidt aluminium 15 X 1.5 fully polished lip over the barrel and fasten all the gold bolts. pics of the lips and gold bolts. Next is to torqued all the gold bolts in a criss cross pattern to 15 lbs. to protect the finish on the bolts i used a latex glove Lastly you will need to seal the rims up with some decent sealant. I use 3M urethane as it bonds and seals like no other silicone on the market. Now they are finished and needs 48 hours for the urethane to cure.
  16. Originally these Oettingers were my wheel of choice after swapping over to a plus suspension upgrade. Now I can swap to my BBS RS001 whenever I want too. Redrilling these on the current offset will have the inner rim hit the coilover spring so I went with the adapter alternative. So here are some 5X112 to 5X100 adaptors specifically custom made for my application. The ones on the market was 17 or 19mm thick which will for sure make these 9 inch wheels stick out like a sore thumb on the rear. I needed as thin as possible with a maximum thickness of 15mm. i needed them to be hubcentric and both center bore was 57.1mm So here is how my adaptors look studs pressed in using socket cap 17mm bolt to hold it on the rotors. The heads stick out 1/2 inch so I need to have the wheels hub face machined so the head sit recessed when bolted on here is the machining looks wide after i lower the car i might need to raise the coilover perches here is how the adapter fits with the socket cap bolts into the wheel
  17. I have a set of BBS RS001 that is originally 4X100 that I was keeping to put on my corrado. But after I upgraded to the plus suspension it's now is no longer 4X100 but 5X100. So how can I make these BBS wheels fit? Adapters? Adapters make the wheel shift outwards by 15mm and gives too much poke. So a redrill is the best alternative keeping both bolt patterns so it can be used on a 4X100 with ease. there will be two original holes per wheel hat will be together. before back front countersink My RS001 are finally assembled and test fitting it on the rado for any clearance issues. not going to rub the fenders This is not for the faint at heart :notworthy:
  18. tell him you only accept western union.
  19. would there be a performance improvement with this or is it just for looks?
  20. yes the sebring outlet is oval and wider than the recess in the bumper. this will be taken care when it gets painted and bodywork done.
