  1. Cheers for the info guys. Are the chargers really as fragile as people say?
  2. I'm thinking of buying a G60. Just looking for a bit of general information about them. What are they like, day to day for driveability and reliability? I've heard they are pretty uneconomical? What is the insurance like compared to 16vs etc? Any help appreciated. Cheers.
  3. Im looking for a How-to on changing the colour of the dash lights, including early heater controls etc. Does anybody know how to do this? Cheers.
  4. Im going through a bit of a dilemma with the 'raddo at the minute. As most of you probably know, its a 1990 1.8 16v. Lowered on Coilies Full eyebrow and badgless grille 16X9 Borbet A's On coming back from my last meet it dawned on me that the borbets were rubbing a hell of a lot, and now *could* be deemed defective by a particularly arsey police officer. Resulting in a minimum of 6 points (= my license gone as im 18) So, it got me thinking about other wheels. I love the borbets and the stance they give to the Corrado, but not only is it unpractical and potentially dangerous, its annoying and possibly risking my driving license. And its stopping the Corrado doing what it should do best.... Go round corners.. So thiking along those lines, I thought why not get a set of lightweight race inspired wheels, and chuck some decent tyres on them? Then I would probably throw some poly bushes and ARB's etc at it and make it more about performance than looks. (Obviously including beefing up the 16v a bit.) And sell the eyebrow in favour of the standard 7 slat grille. What are people oppinions on this? Do i keep it how it is, more about 'show' than 'go'. On do I put a set of smaller wheels on and throw some bits at it to make it perform? (*Note im not thinking anything lary, possibly some Compomotive MO's or the like with some R888's) Oppinions much appreciated.
  5. Replaced all of the old vacuum hoses and played around with the timing. To be continued tomorrow. 8)
  6. You sir, are a legend. I think the pipe has snapped off of the vacuum pipe for the servo, which means i'll have to source a new one. Thanks for the diagram mate.
  7. Yeah, alright, alright  Im in Colchester, Essex. If anyone is nearby and wouldnt mind me taking a peek in their bay ill buy them a drink :salute:
  8. Right. I have knocked up a quick diagram on paint of my vacuum pipes. Im convinced that cant be how it came out of the factory. It looks so messy, dare i say even a bit pikey? And theres the pipe coming from the Ignition control module that just goes nowhere, i was told this was the pipe for the vaccum advance. Im hoping someone can shed some light on where that pipe should go, and how the vacuum pipes should really look. Cheers.
  9. The vaccum pipe leading from the ECU to behind the manifold. I cant see where it is supposed to go.
  10. Does anyone have a diagram of what the vaccum pipes on a KR should look like? I have some very strange piping at the back of the manifold, and i have found that my vaccum advance wasnt even plugged in! I am going to unplug everything and renew all the pipes as they should be from the factory. If someone could give me some information about where the pipes should go to/from I would be extremely greatful. Cheers
  11. Take it up to Stealth Racing and get it on the rolling road mate.
  12. I would get it sorted. If they stick on, they can overheat and cause a fire.
  13. Ok, update time. I bought a new set of wheels for the Corrado, as I was getting fed up of the Porsche wheels. Few little rubs here and there but in general, less rubbing than the 8" D90's.. Been having a little OCD cleanup in the last few days. Under seats and centre arm rest Boot floor Started scrubbing the engine bay. Going to have a proper go at it soon. Also attacked the arches. Was pleased to find no rust or damage :-) Not perfect by any means but the majority of crap is gone. Used AG engine and machine cleaner, a towel and a wire brush to remove the grap and then used G10 to buff up a nice shine and gave each arch 2 coats of Megs wax to finish. Updates, as they happen. Cheers.
  14. My dad had exactly the same problem on his VR6. Turned out the MAF was buggered which caused massive over fuelling and killed the Lambda sensor. So he had to replace both. Now all is well again. 8)
  15. Cheers buddy. 16x9 ET15 all round.
  16. Took a few pics with a mate earlier in a reet ghetto spot  Hope you like!
  17. The top of the rear panel has been pushed up so now hits on the plastic bit on the bottom of the tailgate so you have to slam it to get it shut. The floorpan and rear quarters are fine though, no creases there. Looks like its just that rear panel thats bent. If anyones got a spare early rear bumper for sale around the Colchester area, drop me a line. Does anyone in the trade recon the damage can just be panel beaten out of that rear panel. Its booked in for assesment at the bodyshop tomorrow but i'd like to know what the precedure is for this kind of thing before hand.
  18. Afraid not, my neighbors heard the noise and ran out. All they heard was the car screetch away and dissapear round the corner. They all know how much I love my car so ran and got me straight away. CCTV cameras now on order 8)
  19. Do you ever wonder where some people get their driving licenses? I think they issue them in Kellogs these days. A car came screaming round the tight corner at the end of my road, hit a parked car which was pushed into my parked Rado. My rado was pushed into a Laguna which was pushed into my mums Mk4 Golf GTI. He then very kindly, fucked off. :censored: Cue expensive repair bill. Might as well have the badges smoothed out while im at it.
  20. Agree with the above. Thats a normal feature of the ignition barrel to stop you trying to start a car thats already running (sounds silly but ive seen it done, especially on new cars that are too quiet to hear.) Check the battery voltage and then whip the starter motor off and inspect it. Check the teeth on the starter motor and the flywheel for scores/wear. Then if its all normal, clean it up and give it a very light coat of grease on the moving parts to ensure smooth operation.
  21. I know its had a service, because I serviced it  The car runs flawlessly when its warm. Has a slight hesitation when its cold but this goes away after a minute or two of running. Funny you should say about the fuel filter as this is the only thing I havnt changed. I also have a very slight exhaust blow which I am going to sort out tomorrow when I put my magnex rear box on. These are the only things I am aware of at the minute.
  22. Im getting quite poor fuel economy in the valver at the minute. Averaging around 20-30mpg (normally low-mid 20's) driving to the speed limits with mixed town/dual carriageway driving. Is this normal? The cars had a recent service and seems to pull fairly well. Just the economy is crippling as its a daily driver. The AFM rarely reads above 20mpg (although i know this probably isnt accurate.) Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing such poor economy? Is it a case of just getting the exhaust gases analysed and taking it from there? Its a 1.8 16v by the way. Any advice appreciated. Cheers. P.S If anyone knows where the outside temperature sensor is i'd also be greatful.
