  1. Good work Rob :) it's handy when your other half is happy to buy you parts for birthday/Xmas , I already have some plug leads here for Christmas, wondering what else I can wangle !
  2. Expansion tank now obsolete Ian yes, Done 70k Delfinis38
  3. Thanks, I will look into that.
  4. Thanks for the encouragement chaps :) Progress has been a bit slower of late, that damn wax is much harder to remove on the passenger side for some reason and scratching the paint is a problem. Have done a bit to the engine though, started cleaning and painting block and replaced timing chains and guides, was actually glad to find some wear on the top tensioner guide as I nearly wasn't going to bother replacing them. Had some slightly bad and surprising news from BBA Reman that my ABS unit was beyond repair !:( However they have managed to source another which is going to cost just under £300 .Which I suppose could be worse. Unable to source a new washer bottle or coolant tank which is a pain, if anyone has one for sale by any chance, please let me know :)
  5. I would have thought you would get away with 1 mm
  6. They look very nice J, do you use it in the wintertime ?!
  7. Yep, might even have mine back on the road by then !
  8. Yes Ian , it did thank you very much , thought I had pm'd you on Ccgb forum , apologies if not. Once I have decided which brackets to have coated I will email the pic over :)
  9. At the bottom of the page in the black box there is a donate link ? That reminds me, it's time I donated :)
  10. Is this separate to the other one advertised/sold ? if so I'll take it please Dave.
  11. I have been fortunate to see it twice, earlier this year, unforgettable :)
  12. Wouldn't want to deprive you of the fun J ! :)
  13. Got stuck in this week ! Removed engine/box, front suspension, cross members, steering rack etc , Have never had a Corrado in this state of dis-assembly before  Pleasantly surprised to be able to remove the wishbones without the front bolts shearing :):) and also lucky to remove the radiator elbow without the bolts spinning, I have a new one to fit. Bought from ebay , though wish I had checked with Vw Heritage first as they are half the price at £10 :bonk: Had a couple of hours today to start cleaning inner wings etc, quite hard work especially with the wax that has been applied, 2mm thick in places ! Using a plastic scraper, white spirit & T cut to get it off On the plus side it has really helped to prevent any corrosion, in fact I don't think I am going to need to get anything shot blasted, just a good clean & paint. Also removed ABS unit for sending off for overhaul, the warning lamp doesn't always go out, sticky valve's' according to a diagnostic scan. So this is how I left it this eve :) bit more to do !
  14. They always seem to find the bargains !
  15. I think I must have had one of the last repair kits early this year, good to see they used BBA Reman for the ABS recon , I had them in mind to sort mine out. Enjoyed the program , should help the image and values of our cars I think :)
  16. The early ones didn't use a conventional 16 pin OBD port
  17. Thank you James :thumbleft: Will see how things go, maybe keep the car standard until Stanford, and wheels and suspension straight after, it's not major work after all :)
  18. 301's ? yes :) bought my (your) old ones back. I really like Stanford as a show and would love to get my car down amongst the Concourse, my thoughts on that were if the Speedlines were fitted and it was just the suspension not original would it matter that much ?
  19. Have enjoyed 2 weekends of Corrado fun, last Sunday at Berkley Castle Vw show, and today at Goodwood circuit breakfast club 'Vee power Sunday' both very enjoyable with great weather. Sandwiched by 2 Ferrari's at Goodwood ! So lucky to have this place only 20 mins away. So today was the last outing for this year :( This afternoon made a start on the front end refresh/refurbish.Will be removing the engine, box and sub frame etc to get it to the standard of the rear , will be replacing the clutch & probably timing chains & guides, not that they are noisy but it make sense while it's all out. Have chosen to do it at home rather than at the workshop, as I will be less pressured to get it done quickly (taking up workshop space) Planning to have a new look next year too ! I have enjoyed the car being standard this year but think I really do prefer the lowered (a bit) look and some replacement wheels have arrived :) I know the ride will be sacrificed a bit , I haven't decided which suspension to go for yet. I really don't have any other mods planned (unless I stumble across some original, mint Recaro's !), want to keep it as original as possible . Plenty more updates to come, i'm sure ! Thanks for reading :)
  20. Went along to this this morning and it was very enjoyable, many wonderful cars at a great location and sunshine :) Felt a bit out of place on the way in as we were surrounded by Ferrari's ,Lambo's Maclaren etc but the C got plenty of attention and there at least 2 other Vr's parked up. My last outing in the Corrado this year, major works ahead !
  21. I think I have one if fuzz doesn't
  22. That is one show I have never attended Chris, and would like to. Shall keep it in mind :)
  23. My current C does that a little in 4th gear .like you say ,more apparent if you 'lean' on the gearstick. It doesn't concern me , thinking maybe gear cable / linkage adjustment
