  1. Welcome along, nice to have the Kw's fitted. Quite a few Forum members along the South coast 8)
  2. 'Wetness & Talcum Powder' ?! Thought I was on the wrong website for a minute ! Seriously though, water leaks can be a nightmare on these old cars, is it worth trying a car cover or something ? I think you could be trying forever to stop the water getting in.
  3. Are you aiming to get to any shows or meets next year Rob?
  4. Got this built up this afternoon Some other bits are ready for re-fitting too, Feeling like I have got the bulk of the refurbishing work out of the way and hopefully will soon be able to start getting things back together 8)
  5. Try gently closing it with the alan key slot in the motor, you just have to remove the interior light to get to it, If it closes ok you will know if it is a motor or electrical fault.
  6. Will give you a call this coming week :)
  7. Hi John, can this be done with the gearbox intact, or does it need to be disassembled first ?
  8. Thanks for the replys chaps, the Alumablast looks very good so I'm going to try it, just ordered some :thumbleft:
  9. I won't know for some time yet if it's ok, though I'm pretty confident it will be fine. This unit took a couple of weeks to get because they say it came from Germany. Normally if they can repair your existing unit turnaround is about a week, they organise the courier and its all pretty easy, have used them a few times before.
  10. Could look into that too, thanks Sean :)
  11. The alloy wheel cleaner sounds worth a try, thanks :)
  12. Send me your address and I will get them out to you Monday , will let you know the cost of post. Edit: actually it will be Tuesday before I can post them
  13. What Dox said is a possibility , if the cam was in the wrong position when tightening down ?
  14. Are you sure the tappets are moving freely and not jamming ?
  15. I have a pair Jim, yours for cost of postage
  16. Couple of before and after pics Now It's nice to be re-fitting a few bits and pieces, despite taking some photos I wish I had taken more close up shots as finding the right location for some of the clips and brackets is a bit of a jigsaw puzzle ! I have no doubt that at the next show I will be checking under the bonnet of the first Corrado I see to check how much I have got wrong ! I have received my replacement ABS unit from BBA Reman which looks fine, can't fit it yet as I am having the mountings re-plated along with a few other brackets. Re-furb of the suspension etc is coming along but plenty more to do 8)
  17. Can second that, trouble is getting the rest of the bay to match !! :)
  18. Well done on the pass :) I have washer bottle and coolant tank envy looking back at those pictures (they are not available now) How did you get on with the 8mm leads ? were they from mr Retro ?
  19. My front end restoration is coming along and I have started cleaning up the gearbox,I have de greased it and used a wire wheel attachment and it looks way better than it did, but I'm wondering whether to paint it silver to get a really nice finish . However I'm not sure, as I don't want to paint it and then have the paint start flaking off or dis-colouring after a bit of time has passed , That would not be good, any thoughts or recommendations on a good paint to use? Or should I keep it natural finish :) Thanks
  20. I bought a good one recently from Machine Mart, 2t and it has nylon wheels so it's pretty quiet when you move it around.
  21. Lovely colour on the Corrado, Very nice to have a fresh OEM exhaust :)
  22. Thanks Rob, the mk4 bottle could be an option. I do tend to get on with things and get jobs completed as soon as I can, It bothers me when things are in bits and I don't feel relaxed until they are finished, it helps that it is my line of work and many of the jobs are done when I get some spare time at my workshop :)

    Side Window Seals

The seals come out with the glass , a decent screen fitter shouldn't have any problems getting them out, had them out of my current and previous cars.
