  1. The hub that the disc sits on should be completely clean and free of any un-evenness or that could cause the discs to distort quite quickly

Or the hub(s) could themselves be distorted

Just had this problem on my Bmw with 3 sets of discs being warped in 20k miles so changed the hubs a couple of weeks ago too, hopefully sorted now.

  2. Removing the intake trumpet on the standard airbox gives a little extra intake noise without the full on BMC roar!

not sure about a K and N panel filter making much difference though

  3. Not sure if th 2.0 16v suffers from that classic VR6 in-key immobiliser problem. Was that system fitted to models other than the VR?

I believe they all had it from around 94/95 on,

Could probably be confirmed as faulty with vag com, I think they can be removed but it's usually the transceiver ring around the ignition barrel that plays up

  4. So that's it for this year :(

Sorned now for a while , removed the RS's today for cleaning and winter storage and refitted the Speedlines.

Have to say I think it looks great on them too with the coilovers 8)

  5. My experience with them and my ABS pump wasn't great either. They sent a 'recon' unit after saying mine was beyond repair, I fitted it and it still had a valve fault so had to remove it and send it back for them to sort it out. It took ages though it was all ok in the end.

Strange thing is I have used them for lots of other things over the years with work and they have been very good.

Trouble is where else do you go ?!

  6. When I sold my last car(2 yrs ago now) my 2 boys and I had a couple of final pictures taken with it on the day the new owner drove it away,it was a sad day.My youngest who was around 4 yrs at the time asked me if we would see it again ?

I said no and then had to hide in my garage as I had a tear or two in my eye , they were very attached to it, however they did forget about it quite quickly and embraced the replacement m3 very happily !

  7. The starter motor , if faulty would only make any noise while cranking the engine on start up ?

How long does the noise last? it could be the starter motor hanging on but that would only last a second or two after the engine has started
