  1. I had a funny / you might say senior moment on the way home yesterday,

Cruising nicely down the M1 I noticed my oil temp was higher than normal at 110 though water was fine and normal .

Kept going and the temp kept climbing slowly until it got to 115. Started backing off the speed down to 60mph and then 50mph , oil temp still climbing .

Worried now and got ready to pull over to have a look under the bonnet,

Then realised I was looking at distance travelled !! :epicfail:

I blame the lack of sleep :)

  2. Well I clocked up well over 500 miles this weekend and on the long hot congested drive to Harewood I thought to myself I hope this is worth the effort.

It was indeed, camping Saturday night was great fun including the 'who has the loudest exhaust/engine competition' 8)

Great to catch up with folks, have a few beers and meet some new Corrado friends :) and admire cars not seen before.

Great cars, smashing people, and a great event !

Will post up some pictures when I have sorted them out, took rather a lot !

  3. Just a quick shout out to Lilfuzzer and Harrier for completing the last piece of glass replacement today. Met Harrier as arranged this afternoon and the quarter glass is now over at the windscreen guys ready to be put in tomorrow or Tuesday.

Once again, thanks to these guys for going above and beyond - it really restores your faith in human nature when people you don't know from Adam, help out in the way they have. Should be back on the road Wednesday morning. Thanks to everyone for their good wishes. I'll post up some pics when i get the Corrado back. :thumbleft:

    Cheers

    Nick

    Glad to help Nick :)

  4. Just arrived in Leeds ready for the morning. My God! What a horrible drive! Why are there 20 miles of roadworks and 40mph limit (although traffic barely moving), yet there wasn't a single friggin workman on the whole thing! Ahhhhhhggggg

6 hours to get here, reminds me why I don't like travelling this far for shows etc.

    Yep, us too .nasty drive.

Still , here now all safe .

Off out shortly for a pint and bite to eat :)

  5. It doesn't sound like a manifold / exhaust problem , it would have new gaskets fitted and you would think that any cracks would have been spotted during the engine rebuild and as said manifold cracks get quieter as the engine warms up anyway .

The fact you can hear it at 70 mph with the radio on doesn't sound right though ..

  6. I have been to Santa Pod and seen some dragsters along with Vw's and other stuff at Vw action. Not sure what level of performance they were compared to that one above but they are brilliant.

Planning to take my sons to Santa Pod this summer, think they will love it too 8)
