Just updating my bookmarks/subscribed threads following the forum update with my favourite cars. Superb car! Lousy thread title of (more cleaning) doesn't make it easy to find.
-
Your car is a beautiful example my favourite on this forum :D I use your pictures on here as wallpaper on my works PC and change them often. Thanks, thats really kind of you. It really does mean a lot to get positive feedback from other forum users. Gareth

I hope you prove me wrong but don't feel optimistic about the appeal of your £50 rims. Standard Speedlines would look fine and cost the same.
-
I do have my uses

Loving the progress, you certainly aren't messing about. Would you kindly list all the parts/part numbers and prices of all the trim items you sourced when changing the windscreen and scuttle if you would be so kind. I'd like to make sure I have all the necessary parts ready for when I change my screen as I inevitably will need to do sooner or later.
More evidence of a hugely succesful Compomotive transplant. :salute:

I wonder if anyone any more knowledgable than me can help with some information and a valuation.
I have a remote control model Audi Quattro which is brand new in the box 1/11 scale. It was manufactered in 1983 and i got it back then as a birthday present and have never used it.
Mine has a number 8 livery but is like the one shown here

I thought there may be some specialist interest or market in these things?
-
they should be fine in every respect with a modest 40mm drop
-
Think its time for the engineering gurus like Daves16v to step up as saviours with a custom high strength fix? :notworthy: :help: Should prove popular i'd imagine

Its a shame you feel that way after all you've achieved. You're car can now safely stand with the best presented Corrados out there. If you do sell it don't go for another modern classic it will be the same with all older cars regardless of make and model. I strongly suspect that if I didn't own mine I wouldn't go for another older/cherished/classic/weekend car it can be a lot of work expense and hassle so my Corrado will certainly be my last. However much of what i've outlined as drawbacks don't apply to mine with the condition its in and the work carried out and yours is increasingly in the same boat. You were on the home straight where a little TLC and ongoing maintenance would have been enough to keep the car looking and driving beautifully as a nice antedote to modern souless daily drivers and the daily grind.

Diifficult, no matter what the heart says don't throw good money after bad it sounds like your car is great mechanically. Rather than embarking on extensive and expensive body work I think the best plan would be not a complete reshell but buy a very clean car which requires no body work but is perhaps mechanically tired/blown engine and swap only the best of whats needed across (engine, suspension, exhaust perhaps)d. With the money you can raise from breaking and selling on whats left from both cars (Corrados are often worth more in parts) it should prove very cost effective

If keeping the valver is beauty is its current spec and high standard so don't change a thing (that includes fitting leather from a late car) as it stands its a lovely period correct early car.
If you are tempted to mod then its the VR6 to keep
-
No help but the 16v is stunning so don't know why you bought another Corrado in the first place but you did and its the VR6 and whilst its a point of some argument for me the VR6 is the Corrado.
On that basis of course the argument is simple there is only one Corrado and its the VR6, but its not really like that is it. I accept the light and nimble benefits of the valver bring a certain joy and as your car is a truly exceptional example (I simply love that car) unless the VR is an equally stunning example in this case its the valver tp stay. You have no obligations but its great to see some non VR6 Corrados kept and presented to such a high standard. Its not unusual to see well cared for and presented VR6s, concours examples included but sadly many of the other non VR6 cars have sufferred from not being cherished and have been used as now tired out noble workhorses or projects for backyard modders and customisers.
-
I love the car and what you've achieved it genuinely is superbly thought out and executed. I almost feel unworthy to offer any comment that is anything but truly positive however I must agree that the wheels sadly let the car down and it is such a shame not to have something more appropriate to the Corrado. I accept brake clearance may prove a challenge but that said the Compomotive MOs for example whilst far from showy offer an OE look with good clearance.

If it truly becomes feasible both economically and environmentally, handled correctly it could guarantee the future wealth and viability of the company/country involved in developing/licensing/owning it. Fuel here neededn't be expensive if we all benefitted from the wealth generated. That said some greedy or incompetant fools will no doubt spoil the opportunity.

Just be a little patient a split rim set off the MK3 in 7" or RX do come up quite regularly at a fair price and fit fine
-
RX in appearance RS in name
-
You've just had this answered in the other thread, need 45 profile tyres and off set is a touch high too would benefit from spacers.
They are called RS despite looking like the split rim RX2
-
Hey,I have found a set of BBS Rs771 splits which the seller says that they are off a Mk 3 gti. The offset is 42 and wheel dimensions is 16 x 6 1/2J with 205/55/16 tyres. Will these fit on a Vr6 Rado without replacing tyres or any sort of modification? My suspension is standard :help:
Sound like the Mk4 Golf wheels, the MK3 are 7j IIRC
-
I'm interested in the 70mm front spoiler. thanks
-
Got to love the Corrado community, having a friend like Mr Haywire must be a godsend
-
2 x new 7.5 up front with the right offset and you have a spare 8" rim?
-
whats a us spec rear bumper like?No tow-eye hole and indeed no tow-eye 8)

Tempest
Awesome, get me with the US style rear bumper and I didn't even know

These genuine VAG parcel shelf straps are available and a good price. Not Corrado specific but a great alternative
