Simple but effective solution to the breaking and now obsolete parcel shelf straps is this upgrade from the MKV Golf GTI Circa £4 each and readily available.
-
One of my parcel shelf straps has snapped :help: Did I read these are now obsolete?
If so where can I get hold of one (or two) or has anybody researched a good upgrade maybe with the cord design straps used on some other cars. Tried the search but can't find what i'm looking for Thanks :salute:

Wow! Looks a quality install by Andy and the team if I wasn't aiming for the modern classic (can't afford 24v look) i'd have gone the same route
-
Awesome! Thanks for posting those it looks great, its amazing how different a light coloured Corrado looks amongst the range of dark coloured cars in the picture.
Tyres have arrived today too so gradually progressing
-
We should all still be rocking Corrados why did we ever sell up?
I hear what you say about the 215s but I have now ordered Dunlop SP9000 in 205/40R17 as they are a great tyre and sit nicely on the tyre without giving the arches too hard a time.
-
Yeh i'm happy with the Dunlops, 195s would mean going Pirelli or such like but I think i'll go ahead and order the Dunlops tomorrow. Can't wait to get them on the car!
-
That would be cool! I think i'll play safe and go for 205/40 and despite the price hike i'm still favouring Dunlop SP9000 tyres but I had been thinking of 195/40 but it seems kind of wrong to go narrower than the standard tyres on the Speedlines!! Also don't really want a stretch look as i'm aiming for a Classic look rather than custom.

Thanks guys really touched by the positive attitude and kind words shown to the car on my return. Its looking at some of the great rides on here that helped make up my mind to return. I personally think the Corrado can only get more disirable with age as numbers decrease and the majority become basket cases more likely to be broken than restored. The well cared for stock (ish) looking examples will be truly modern day classics and a joy to own and drive.

Looks a good find, I do like a silver VR6 :)
-
Its the only set I have now so they are going straight on the car. It won't see winter though.
-
Why on earth did I sell all these :cuckoo:
-
Thanks for posting the pic Tedman, its good to have a pic of how the car currently looks. Of course its never going to look radically different. Got a nice parcel today, a set of 4 centre caps for the RS 301s. Half height caps genuine brand new from BBS eyewatering price but 4 of only 11 left at BBS (lattice section too). Library picture for reference of a previous set now residing on Bill Aitken's superb Corrado. Just need a set of Gold script badges now.

Certainly hope to get out and about this Summer, just a few little touches i'm hoping to do then I can sit back and enjoy it. Definately heading over to Holland for MIVW, not sure of my other plans as yet.

Hoping to treat the interior to a going over with Liquid Leather

Thanks for the welcome back :salute: Once again I want to credit Ben for such sterling work to the car during his ownership and keeping it in fanastic order. To update this thread here is an idea of the work carried out over the last 2 years.
Cooling System
New VAG radiator
Expansion cap and tank
Gruven radiator neck
Gruven crack pipe
Water pump
Samco hoses
Serpentine Belt
Gruven belt pulley

It just wouldn't be the mine without Recaros (they are still in there) and 301s (which are probably in in my garage already)

Good evening. Although a freqent visitor to the forum since selling my Corrado I have seldom posted, understandable really with no Corrado.
However the good news (for me ) is that I am once again a Corrado owner. So why comment on the original members gallery thread you may wonder? Well in short I am once again the owner of a car I have always thought of as my own. My thanks and appreciation must go to Ben (MK1Campaign) for not only giving me the opportunity to buy the car back but having cared for the car and carried out some excellent work during his ownership. Thankyou Ben!
I will gradually update this thread to reflect the work carried by Ben (yes I know the majority is documented in his thread, but forgive me the indulgence) and perhaps a few updates of my own. Its good to be back

Car's looking great Zak. can I pick your brains? Are you still running the arch liners up front and how low is the car (ground to centre of wheel arch F&R) also how much room is there width wise in the arches? Thanks
-
I'll try to get hold of one a perhaps we can look into this, it would make a cool mod much more staightforward and open up a whole new market :D

Hi, Are the repair kits compatible with the rear Passat (lockless handle) modification. When changing to the Passat rear handle you have to use the Passat lock too at present, I wondered if using the repair you could retain the OE lock and just swap the repair piece and make the Passat handle a more straight forward proposition.

If the PCD is correct you may just need to get the centre bore machined out a little, should be fine
