Plate's not legal on a Corrado. pre '73 cars only. I have it for show purposes only but I have occasionally used it on the road. I got mine made up before the regulation changes but you can often get them at shows or anywhere offering 'show plates' for non road use. Several places do them on t'internet.

Reading back over some of the comments and it seems most people prefer the look of the RHs, so I guess they can stay, they certainly give a more aggressive stance. I'm keeping the BBS RSs though as its great to swap between the 2 different looks. Was looking at pics from BVF this summer and with the BBS it looks almost 'stock' .

I think some of the bodywork mods on Moonlight VR are easily overlooked and whilst the look is still very OE, Asim should be recognised for his restraint and success in creating a very subtle modified car. I wouldn't have had the vision and determination to loose the tow eye, aerial and wiper which has given a less is more approach to 'clean up' the already succesful basic formula of the VW Corrado. This car stands alone in my opinion as the most succesful and thorough interpretation of the OEM+ Corrado in the UK, and my personal favourite. Less is more.

Hi, Welcome to the Forum. Nice to have another local owner i'm only a couple of miles away from you too.

Thanks for being mentioned in this poll, i'm genuinely humbled and pleased to have my car recognised. I am still new to Corrado ownership but have been loyal to sporting watercooled VWs for many years. As far as the voting is concerned if it is for Forum Corrado of the Year, I would make the observation that some cars have been debuted before this year which includes my personal favourite car, Asim's Moonlight VR. Furthermore others are works in progress, show immense promise and will be awesome when finished and some may even be in a league of their own performance wise eg Phat VR6 and Biggerbigben. But for this year the debut of A20LEE was probably the Forum Car highpoint, certainly as far as the mooded cars go. For me i'm just a OEM+ plus kind of person.Hence my RS splits which not only are split construction but split opinion..   .

RMs are a 2 piece split rim, the one piece is not an RM.

I think the standard G6O fitment BBS wheel is the 6.5 x 15 RZ

The S3 may provide a more modern and easily tuneable package but if you are not especially wealthy or have lots of dispoable income etc then I would imagine that the thrill of spending an extra 10k would quickly diminish. For the modest outlay the Corrado is a pretty special and relatively rare car. I don't think after the honeymoon period the S3 would seem so attractive if like me you'd be burdened with a significant loan for a number of years. At least the C is paid for.

I can't believe you're telling everyone where to get them at that price, they'll all want 'em now!

I'm in absolute agreement on the Supersprint, superb.

Me too i'm afriad. But Lee's not one to worry about other peoples opinions, he''l just follow his own vision which is good.

Yes but as the Storm was a UK marketing excercise its more interesting to compare it to the UK RHD market.

A couple of the threads over recent weeks have got me thinking. There is often a thread running extoling the virtues of the VR6 Storm, and discussing its rarity, desirability and value. I'm not out to create an argument here but if we agreed that there were approx 9,000 Corrados registered in the UK of all models 1.8 16v G60 2.0 16v 2.0 8v VR6 I wonder how many there were of each model? If for arguments sake (no figures to support this) that of the 9,000 the VR6 accounted for say 5,000 then the Storm figure of 500 would no longer look so small. In effect 1 in 10 would be a Storm. Which means certain individual coloured models are no doubt less numerous. So how many of each model were sold and despite the belief are Storms really that (relatively) rare? Discuss

Here's a pic of the RHs fitted, there are no arch or strut issues, simply bolt on.
-
Well you know where to come :)

One of the mechanics at Dubsport has a VR6 converted G60. He has now sold the VR6 engine and is currently fitting the S3 1.8T 20v.

no it would involve changing the wheels especially for the pic, i'm not quite that bad yet, honest

No it should be 'Dark Metallics' and others
