  8. I have a leak, the water is collecting in the rear passngers foot well. I am going to attempt to take out the front passenger seat and remove the carpets. Any tips? Like, How do I remove the seat? How many bolts and where are they? Any help would be appreciated Chris

  10. cheers Henny, that makes perfect sense to me, just wanted some reassurance. Loom it is then. Have ya fitted one yourself? Does it take long?
  11. Driving last night, in the fog, I was experimenting with my headlights. I find that my main beam doesn't seem as bright as it could be. Dipped is fine, but when I switch to main I seem to lose the brightness. If i hold the column switch in, as if I were flashing my headlights, both the headlights and inner spot lights go considerably brighter. Has anyone else had this issue? Could it be a faulty relay or switch? I will be getting an uprated wiring loom as recommended by countless other forum members, but I don't want to find that I still have this problem. Any advice would be gratefully recieved. Chris

    Wet Carpet!

cheers for the info m8, I know that my sunroof has been changed at some point. I believe that its another C common fault. It works fine no complaints there. Already thought about doing the hose thing but I'll have to wait until it dries out. Its not easy to take the carpets out is it? Still don't think its the matrix cos the water isn't coolant-like, if you know what I mean? Thanks for the help m8, this is really doing my head in!!!

    Wet Carpet!

Mike 16V you said 1/Check the little drain on the passenger side of the scuttle panel. Sometimes it gets blocked with leaves and debris. Where is it situated? Is it the bit under the bonnet? Can ya give me any more clues?

    Wet Carpet!

Definatley got coolant in there I put it in myself although, with losing water, it has been fairly diluted. I shall check the sunroof drainer. Can ya tell me where it is roughly please? Yes, I've cleared all the leaves out from the intake, there was rather a lot there. Obviously hadn't been cleared in years as it was almost compost!! I guess if nothing else works I will have to wait for it to dry out then keep my eyes peeled and check regularly for dampness

    Wet Carpet!

tried that, neither pink, blue or sticky??!! Any other tips m8?
  19. yeah I have mixed thoughts on the stuff too, but as for "blocking up your waterways" dunno who told you that but it certainly doesn't do it. It block leaks at best, it also has anti corosion additives which will do it more good than harm.

HAd a new lamda sensor fitted recently seems to have sorted the smoke issue, dunno how though, surely it only regulates fuel & air mixture?
