Ha ha no m8 i think there are a few of us lol if money was no object then id need a multi storey car park but when it is limited oh my word i would be fickle in choosing i also think along the lines of that as long as you feel you got your moneys worth of enjoyment out of a car then that is the main thing & money doesn't come into the equation much - however, personally, i would never buy a car brand new as the depreciation they suffer is like throwing your £ notes in a fire plus i also find that those cars i really lust for i would need to be a millionaire & preferably my own race track to ever own them.... Pagani Zonda Konigsegg of some form Porsche 993 GT2 Porsche 356 Ferrari 288 GTO Ferrari F40 Ford Mustang GT500 Eleanor Ford RS200 Metro 6R4 Twin turbo 4WD rado for a sub 10 second 1/4 mile :D im off for a dream & a bathroom break ;) lol

Quick Poll - How Long Have You Had Your Current Corrado?
g0ldf1ng3r replied to Yandards's topic in General Car Chat
worse than a saleman - down right low down lying scum m8 fortunately it only cost me a wasted drive up there but i found the whole experience the worst ive ever had in terms of either buying or selling a car in synopsis.... booked to go see a storm he had he called to delay saying had double booked then he called again to cancel 2nd booking as he 'couldn't find the keys' 3 weeks of chasing & trying to find out what happening ended up with an excuse of 'oh i left them in the glove box of a car i sold & had to track them down' eventually manage to go see car, described as mint with everything working & a hefty price tag got there.... rather abrupt greeting & grumbles oil was already very warm as was the engine bay (clearly warmed up prior to my arrival & probably to disguise start up smoke) alarm fob did not work sunroof did not work wing mirror did not work paint work was pretty poor in many places the list went on he offered excuses but seemed more interested in doing something with another car than talking to me & my uncle about the car leather seats had been treated with some kind of silicone based stuff, very greasey & left residue on your hands started the car up & let it run for a minute or two after which he came over & stopped it & removed the keys & walked off it was at this point we 'thanked' him for wasting 3 weeks of my time, a wasted weekend & a waste of petrol & told him to go swing during the entire time he was obnoxious, rude & full of sh1t!! my personal feeling is that he/they whatever buy heaps of junk, tart them up & disguise any issue & then try to sell them for top dollar hopefully yours was a good one & managed to find a nice new home -
is that an 850 T5R Joe? but with aftermarket wheels? am i right they only made 250 of the R so as to enter it in BTCC? the estate version of the R was a monster & had awesome grey flat 6 spoke alloys

Quick Poll - How Long Have You Had Your Current Corrado?

Oh no!! not 'the corrado specialist TCS'!? :( that man is a down right liar & cheat!!! speaking from personal experience good luck finding your old car though -
Hmmm a tough question that Jamie - especially as im so bloody fickle that i like many cars but would likely never actually buy one those i would part with my cash for are very limited & most out of my range & £25K however, a very quick thinking & i would consider, in no particular order..... ploughing the lot into my VR - turbo, turbo, turbo! AP racing brakes, wheels, KW V3's, glass out pimp quality respray in blackberry, 4 wheel drive n3p's Storm turbo & then concours the VR Noble M12 gto BMW E30 M3 BMW 850 CSI Lancia Delta HF Integrale Porsche 911 circa 78 - 80 Porsche 930 Turbo Flatnose old skool Ford Mustang Fastback VW bay window or split screen panel van out of the above, if i had to choose just one it would possibly be a flip between the noble or the E30 M3....or id have such a headache trying to choose i would never be able to make a decision lol

is the MG off already wayne!!?? did you sort the issues with it? i hope you are not going to have to take another loss to move it on :( & after you had nearly got the rado mostly sorted too

i certainly do Phil :) they are on http://www.liquidleather.com/ fortunately they relocated to literally a few miles from my house so i was able to go in & chat with them but they are primarily online. the technician looked at my seats & said to go with the VW black for the dye be aware that they do sell kits but the amount of dye is very small, hence why i brought the 3 items as i stated due to not needing the couple of cloths & a nail brush in the kits ;) i haven't done my seats yet, i am using the steering wheel as a tester & practice first i can take a couple of pics of the steering wheel but they will be a during & after rather than a before, as i didn't take one before starting i can say that i wasn't expecting much dirt or grime to come off the steering wheel as it was in rather nice condition. how wrong i was! i had to refill fresh water twice as it was so mucky. lord knows how much dirt will come off the seats lol both the cleaner & conditioner go a very very long way with only a tiny amount. FYI i used an old tooth brush to apply the cleaner & then wet it a little & very gently agitated it, their guide says not to apply any pressure. I can say i was pleasantly surprised how well it foamed up my seats are in excellent condition but do have some small cracks on the side & lower bolsters on drivers side. however the seat & back base are both excellent. the technician advised to do all the front facing areas so as to get a complete colour match, rather than just the bolsters i have seen several examples of people using the glyptone route & the 'after' shots always look like the seats are virtually new. i was recommended glyptone a few years ago by Tim from 5th Gear when i gave him a short blast out in the VR :D
-
I visited the glyptone / liquid leather people last week. got myself 250ml of the GT11, GT12 & the scuffmaster dye in VW black. think is was around £35 for all 3 the technician i spoke to there said that should be enough to do all the front surfaces of both front seats ive started refurb'ing a leather steering wheel from here & the dirt the cleaner removed was quite a surprise! the conditioner has been left to soak for a few days & the leather feels extremely soft now going to dye it this wkend hopefully PhilUK - yes i belive there are early & late heated seat dash switches but i think it is just the physical shape

good point Ian if its an old black lid change it to a more modern blue - stealer should stock i would have thought EJ FYI i have never felt either my old black cap or current blue cap 'click' into place - they just screw up tight the main difference seems to be that the old black caps were a bugger to unscrew when the car was cold, i always used to have to take it for a short run before unscrewing the cap. this doesn't seem to happen with the blue one -

Checking out a Corrado tommorow, Any tips on what to look for?
g0ldf1ng3r replied to Syphious's topic in General Car Chat
welcome im sure you are aware but with the G60 & high miles, if it has not been serviced well the supercharger is likely to need a rebuild. i am unsure of places to do such but worth you checking out if/where/how much to do it or there as a Bahn Brenner Motorsport twin screw charger for sale on here a couple of weeks ago - they look awesome! ;) FYI i recently had to purchase a new steering rack for my '90 1.8 16v IIRC it was around the £130 mark with a £90 retainer which was returned once id sent them my old rack back please take care when sourcing one as there is a split part choice depending on the VIN number of the car - in detail one rack has a coarse spline on it & the other a fine spline, they will not interchange. thus whoever you order it from make sure they use the VIN & not the registration good luck -

hi pete normally when cars with uprated looms are suffering issues it is due to a failed relay they don't cost much from a local motor factors & are handy to keep a spare in the glove box do you have a 2 relay or 3 relay loom? reason i ask is the 3 relay looms have 1 relay for each side of normal beam headlight & then 1 for the high beam, whereas the 2 relay looms only have 1 relay for both sides of normal beam i may be able to dig out a part number if you are struggling as i had a failed relay on my uprated loom in the spring change the relays, check any fuses if the loom has them & then reconnect it all & should be ok

its a tough choice Jamie but a very nice 1 to have & sounds like you are going through the full sensible process, testing one via hire for a weekend would be a great idea. it should give you an inkling into what it may like to live with my bro-in law has a 996 C4S, personally not a favourite of mine as i favour the 993 shape or old skool 911. i think it is the broad similarities the 996 / 997 share with the other models that put me off, as with most modern cars they all really look too much alike ive driven a 1978 911, the bro-in laws 996 C4S & have been lucky enough to have been passenger in my old MD's 996 GT3 several times (including on a track day where he set his fastest time of the day with me in there & did some doughnuts to celebrate :D ). the GT3 is another league of motor completely, i don't think ive ever been in a car which could cover so much ground in so little time. truly awesome! add to that the feeling that you are actually glued to the road & i think it was almost as much fun to be a passenger as a driver lol the 996, well, lets just say i smiled & said all the right things as it was my bro-in laws but i wasn't overly impressed. the brakes were good lol i think it was the way it felt very computerised if that makes sense. james may would say it didn't give him 'the fizz' if you all get me. rather disconnected & even though his has the optional exhaust thingy to make it sound gruntier i think my VR sounds much better now ive got the 2.5 straight through exhaust the old skool 911 is my dads & though it hasn't been out on the road for a long time i still remember fondly the day he let me drive it down country lanes when i was about 18 or 19. being totally honest it still gives me tingles to recall being sat in the driving seat with the targa roof off at a cross roads, putting her into 1st (my dad giving me an approving nod as he normally pulled off in 2nd) & then hearing my mom yelp from the back seat as i gave it full beans off the line lol it was only a short drive & a long time ago but i can still remember the way it felt solid, spoke to you through the steering wheel feedback, through your backside on the seat (something i find in common with the corrado's we all love) & oh the sound!! i used to love waking up to the sounds of a flat 6 rumble when i was young! i think it it the last few points which either keeps us with our rado's or keeps people coming back to them, it is the overall driving experience & a feeling of being connected to the car thus for me the porker i would like to buy would either be way out of my league (a dream would be a 993 GT2 but they are like 120K lol) or old skool air cooled it is my big 4-0 next year & im hoping that maybe, just maybe the below may be coming my way finally after many years....

ha ha ha oh my what a mistake that would be....OUCH!!! lol

nice billcor i still recall seeing H15 HOR on an 1st gen civic type R a while ago & also P15 POR on a Ferrari - which ive been told was originally purchased for a Porsche ive always liked the thought of F45 TAS with a tiny sized print 'f**k' after it but would need to turbo the VR to justify lol

love the wheels EJ, very nice!!
