The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...
Alex_G60_Fanatic replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
Took me 3 attempts, 2 screwdrivers and a hammer in the end... the right screwdriver helps though -
Broken? Looks like she has been stolen and abandoned!! Nah... honest! There's no engine or gear box and shes parked outside a garage in an industrial estate :)

Yandards' 16VG60 - Running Report 23 Jul 15

shirley Yan wouldn't use GSF crank bearings  Your right I wouldn't; genuine bits all the way. That and I also wouldn't use KR bearings, I used G60 ones.. Kris, I did find the bolt ok although it involved a trip to the 1 pound tool store for a magnetic grabber. I had a dig around the web last night and with some careful ordering from the US I can bring the bearing costs way down, this seals the deal for me really as a £500 bill is now closer to £300. do it man... It was such a mean looking machine and you've popped so many hours into her its such a same not to see her running with that engine. By the way, Im sorry for being a little stressy over getting back an all, you kinda get that when your self employed. I totally understand and sorry for being pushy about getting back. As it happens I met a lovely lady on the aeroplane from BVF so i wasn't bored! :camp: -
Drained oil and only 2 litres came out! (VR6)
Alex_G60_Fanatic replied to stemid's topic in Engine Bay
no unfortunately i didn't, just dove straight in a drained it. would definitely have been useful as a reference to have checked it first. i'll have a look at the oil sensors tonight when i get chance to refill the system just don't end up over filling her in your enthusiasm to do good! 6 litres max  -

I'd top up and then check for leaks. With so little oil in there it may not be enough to leak Id also check to see if the wiring that goes to the oil sensor is ok. As you say, it should have been on all the time with only 2 litres of oil in there as for the dip stick... did it read ok before you dropped the oil? (taking a cold oil reading) -

I also met up with the Traveling Group this evening. Very nice to final get to meet some actual members (and the chairman no less :camp: ) Caught up with Wendy and the gang at about 6:30pm at their Guest house and then went off for dinner in a lovely little Pub called "the ship". Spoke of previous travels and learned that corozin missed the Glasgow kiss of his life. Oh well, never mind John, there's still a few days left! See you all at BVF!! 2010.jpg[/attachment:ksuupuuw]

My Dads a polymer chemist... Does it not have an ingredients list on the back of the tub Kev? I could ask him to decipher the Systematic meanings for us

Sqeezed from a rare German mammals is it? My lord, you get by Goose grease cheaper  I wouldn't use it, its a Water based lubricant that will quickly dry out and may cause corrosion. You save that bottle for your own use :camp:

there is this on te Wiki http://wiki.the-corrado.net/ignition_ba ... ement.html dunno... i was looking at that the other day with a pal and we came to the conclusion it was a hell of allot of work... id be tempted to throw away your old key and use the new one that comes with the barrel and re-tumble the locks to match the new key... like this http://wiki.the-corrado.net/re_tumbing_locks.html

You'll have to look at the efficiency of the LPG. Any saving you'll make at the pump per litre will be off set by the fact that LPG gives a reduced MPG. No point doing it if you'll end up having to re-fuel every five minuets! I think LPG gives about 85% of the calorific value of petrol and it burns hotter so your engine temps will go up. There are lots to consider...
