Do you ever get the feeling that your car hates you?
Alex_G60_Fanatic replied to lauraJ's topic in General Car Chat
Id say you got off lightly, First month i had my Corrado (with a full service history, gleaming engine bay and fantastic body condition) the subframe Snapped in two and i flew of the rd and ended up in a golf course  Now shes got EVERYTHING wrong with her, but when shes running well... Shes AMAZING I dont think ill ever sell her :smug: -
How to make 1 key open all 4 locks - cheap!
Alex_G60_Fanatic replied to Kevin Bacon's topic in Exterior
Same way... you need to open the boot, remove the plastic cowling and behind the lock you should see a small oval plate with a black plastic cylinder in the centre. In the centre of the cylinder is a pin holding in the locking mech. You just need to pull that pin out and the lock should slide out (keep the key in the lock to help you) Im currently trying to do this mod at the moment but getting the pin out is proving to be a pain in the ASS :bad-words: but once the barrels out it should be the same method as before with the tumblers :) -
I keep seeing a Black 16V lurking about in Cupar, Fife...

Scottish rado's... where are they all???
Alex_G60_Fanatic replied to rosswalker's topic in General Car Chat
I really meant for more significant stuff; possibly a full respray. Cheers though, that's a handy thing to know anyway... if your doing that most places will charge less if you take the panels in ready to paint as opposed to a whole car... trouble with that is the engine compartment wont be the same colour (if you go a dif colour). But to be honest im not sure how much you'll be saving... the big cost isnt just the time you spend on the car but the paint. -

Theres a boy who works in Fife who comes to peoples houses and does work who charges by the hour, hence may spend less time if you rub down and fill in etc. No web site though. Hes called the "Body Doctor" have a look in the yellow pages -

G60 Boost test; does my charger exist?....
Alex_G60_Fanatic replied to Alex_G60_Fanatic's topic in Engine Bay
i had a multimeter taken over the car and didn't see any problems but as you say, continuous current may effect it some what. Also the resistance through the circuit would increase with engine temp as well. And for 20 notes who cares! its not happened for ages though... im more concerned with the MFA reading zero -

G60 Boost test; does my charger exist?....
Alex_G60_Fanatic replied to Alex_G60_Fanatic's topic in Engine Bay
nice one i'll have a look at those tonight. As for the hall sender, i checked the manual and it said to check the hall sender thats why i mentioned it. The "misfires" are a little weird to be fair. Only misfires when HOT and its for extended periods. So theres no combustion for a couple of seconds or sometimes it stops all together as im driving along... but all i need to do is switch of the ignition and she re-starts first time. Could the hall sender be on its last legs maybe? (ive done all the usual ignition checks and replacements by the way, caps, leads, coil etc. etc.) -

Alex_G60_Fanatic replied to Alex_G60_Fanatic's topic in Engine Bay
also, could it be the hall sensor? i noticed that the car sometimes misfires under throttle but only when the engine is HOT :cuckoo: -
is this a problem with the nylon vac pipe that runs to the clocks? if so... where is it?! I realize that the reading Zero just means its reading Standard atmospheric pressure so is there a sensor that will need replacing or just a vacume pipe? if so where should i be looking? all i can find on the Wiki is "1000/ 0 (Atmospheric pressure, charger is bypassed?)" Help! Thanks!

LMAO

Lazy gits with thier linishers  do it by HAND and ill be impressed!

just the designs look tremendous! i cant wait to get some spare cash together... im kinda weird in that im less performance driven than i am about looks  im not to bothered about getting 240bhp out of the car so long as it looks ACE! I was going to go for a Two tone interior, black with red trim and each front seat would get a G60 badge in the centre (getting matching floor mats as well from justmatz  )
-
Who's that then? Are you in Edinburgh? I'm in dundee, but the company I'm on about is located in Livingston. Its called transcal. ive phoned them up a month or so ago and they told me they could completely re-upholster the car for £950
-
go on then.. what's the symptoms?
-
Yeah, i remember reading that in another thread about the "Truth" about the storm or something along those lines. I realise that the interior isn't storm specific but most associate the storm model with leather trim. My proposed trim however would be effectively the existing seats with new upholstery. but the designs they do are AMAZING Ill find a link and post it. the company is genius!

I thought id start a thread with the intention of getting everyone's good ideas down in one place that aren't particular to any one component or are a little different! Mainly i think i just need inspiration! but id also like to share some cool ideas that im currently doing or have dreamt up. so firstly Im currently working on my alloys. I cant afford to buy new ones but I'm happy with the results at least. Survey 173.jpg[/attachment:2qpg357f] Ive resprayed them VAG "Reflex" sliver... its almost a pearl-ecent with little flecks running through it. Look ok, i plan on changing the crappy "Fox" badge that covers the wheel nuts with one that says G60! Again ill have to make them myself i think. But then i do have a A-level in art in design.... :dorky: However Id love to get my hands on the 17's off the new Sirroco! :luvlove: After my wheels im going to the super charger, with the obligatory porting and over hall with new induction kit. But again i cant afford the £500 for the charger so it looks like a Seal kit and a home job again!! Redtop injectors Full suspension pack Brembo brake kit Full leather interior, but not the storm :smug: I've found a company in Edinburgh who have a template for the interior of a corrado so they can make and fit replacement interiors !!! but the best part is i can get any design i wont! Custom interior baby!! But all that will put me back £3000, and i just don't have the money  Hence wish list..........

I have this problem on my driver side door, the dent is across the fold in the panel so you can't "pull" it out. If i managed to remove the panel i suppose i could tap it out but the chances of leaving creases in the body work are high from past experience working on my old Polo G40. In the end i sanded, filled and re-sprayed that section of my door (on the polo). It took about 2-3 hours and once it was done it looked fine. But i would only do that method if you know the metal will crease as its a little time consuming and allot can go wrong if your not careful or try to rush the procedure. This is a good guide for wheel repair which has the same kinda method you would need to follow. Just ensure you buy a filler that bonds well to STEEL and not ALUMINIUM as described in the guide.+ http://www.autopia-carcare.com/realwhda.html

BTW Off topic but i bought these just the other day and they're ace http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=80967

what's peoples opinion of these? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HEIGHT-ADJUSTABLE-COILOVERS-SUSPENSION-KIT-VW-CORRADO_W0QQitemZ360159605214QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item53db2f71de&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A1|66%3A2|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A0|293%3A1|294%3A50 I Thought it seemed quite cheep but id like some advice. Im in a g60 with 16" rims with standard brakes and YOKOHAMA/Parada Spec II tyres otherwise ill just be getting the more popular Koni Suspension packs. Im not wonting MUCH from upgraded suspension, just nom 20-30mm drop and slighly less body roll than standard. Im not using her for a track car so just a little more responsive without being horribly stiff for every day driving. THANKS!!!

Before i became a member i was always phoning these chaps up! They are CONSTANTLY out of stock for 2nd hand corrado stuff though. So unless you know the Golf or pastat equivalent it can be tricky finding the part. However, for one component they actually took my details and let me know when they had one! They where very helpful! :) I bought 1/ New water pumps 2/ Brake pads 3/ fan belts 4/ Internal and external trim 5/ Power steering rack 6/ Indicator Switch and loads of other stuff. They are not the cheapest! but most of there stuff comes with a quality guarantee and warranty. Also there delivery is not too expensive and they package there stuff really well. I have nothing but good things to say for this company.
