  1. Look pretty damned good! :thumbleft: Though for me personally it's too low, and I'm not a fan of debadged front grill.
  2. Could also be the abs ecu, if water is leaking in somewhere. Don't rush into replacing any parts without a diagnostic scan of the abs (you may as well have a full diagnostic scan while you're on, there should be no difference in cost). I found on mine that water had been leaking on to the abs ecu and thought it would need replacing, but after tipping the water out out of it and letting it dry out I think it's okay!
  3. Welcome to the forum! Get some more pics up asap! The wheels might not look oversized if you do raise it a bit, but a smaller set might be worth considering. I bought my first dub (a scirocco) on the spur of the moment, after spending quite a while looking for an alfa. Best decision I ever made. :)
  4. As others have said, Halfords Advanced Pro for a lot of hand tools. But as Kev says, don't limit yourself to one brand.
  5. Thanks Jim. And thanks for organising this - fingers crossed they're a good fit and finish!
  6. I definitely want a pair please Jim, and if there's availability I'll take 2 pairs please. I did post on page 2, but I can't see my name on the list!!!
  7. I'll take a pair please, and depending upon price, maybe 2 pairs. Cheers.
  8. Good news on the car front then. Just need to get the compensation sorted. Good luck!
  9. Starting to go off topic now I think but for me a car being a classic and what it's worth are two separate things - and rarity doesn't necessarily come in to it.
  10. Apart from changing the picture, some of the listings have been revised so as not mention other ebay members names - but one still does. That can be reported as it's in breach of ebay t's & c's - you're not allowed to refer to other ebay members in listings, possibly even other people/companies whether on ebay or not. However, it'll be down to whoever looks at the report vs the listing to decide whether it's in breach or not - the outcome varies a lot as I think all customer services is now overseas - but in theory ebay should just remove the listing. IMO all his listings for corrado parts, and some other items, are in breach of t's and c's for not showing the actual item, or even a library picture of the item - showing a whole car is misleading and I think comes under manipulation of search and browse experience.
  11. Good result. Hope you can put all this behind you, and everyone makes (or has made) a full recovery.
  12. To add another brand (and confusion) into the mix, carparts4less have a LUK clutch kit for £77. If it was me, I'd probably go for the Sachs - as not aware of there being a problem with them.
  13. Happy New Year everyone!
  14. Good to read that you're not going to rush into a decision regarding breaking/selling - though I fear you may have already decided  Just keep plugging away, a bit at a time. It looks far too good to break, and the non-starting problem could turn out to be something simple (though I appreciate it could take a while to track it down). But really, would you be happy swapping to an r32? I know it would be more practical, reliable, newer and possibly more economical - but where's the fun in that?! If you do give up and break it, I think you should be forced to have 'Corrado Killer' tattooed on your forehead! ;)
  15. I don't know it either, but noticed the listing last night and thought it was pretty cheap, especially considering it's got 6 months road tax in the price. Looks like somebody got a good buy! If it had been closer I'd have been very tempted to bid.
  16. I'll be surprised if that hose is "only" £50 - I thought it was at least double that, and was one of the reasons people end up switching to silicone hoses.
  17. I'd definitely go for the full (and legal) version of VCDS. Apart from just the fault codes, you'll almost certainly need to use the measuring blocks function and basic settings functions. It can also log the values while the car is running. Don't think the free version with a cheap cable will give you all of that.
  18. I got a hydraulic bench press! Woohoo! Should be able to do wheel bearings now, and balljoints on the saxo instead of replacing the whole wishbone.
  19. Excellent plan - cures most things!
  20. Merry Christmas to all! :reindeer:
  21. Sorry to hear about this but as everybody has already said, the main thing is you're still here. Hope you make a swift and full recovery and get things sorted quickly - though it might take a while to get the compensation fully sorted I guess. Apart from claiming for the obvious stuff - you might be able to claim for the immediate impact it's had on your life - i.e. it's christmas and you can't do everything you'd normally do and enjoy (and won't be able to until the brace is off and possibly for months after) - there might be a legal term for that type of claim but I can't remember.
  22. I didn't think the ignition did need to be on for corrado brakes (but I'm not certain). See here for some good info. I think the valve problem is relatively common - and as you've found often isn't a problem once the car has warmed up.
  23. Thanks for the replies. That's more or less what I was thinking. I wasn't expecting perfect wheels - expected some kerbing on all of them, and there is - although one wheel really is very good. I was expecting to be able to use the wheels immediately (with new tyres) and they'd look pretty decent. But one of the wheels is buckled/bent slightly on the back. And, one wheel in particular is quite badly scratched across the face along with a couple of chunks out of it. Two of the other wheels are also scratched to some degree, and are kerbed most/all of the way round. Obviously I wasn't bothered about the tyres, but one is down to the cords and beyond, another very, very badly flat spotted, and one is going down. That is beyond 'ideally' need replacing to me. I added a couple of pictures here - the scratched wheel looks much worse in the metal than in the photo.
  24. Did you get this sorted? Sounds harsh to say the least. Not looked into it, but can police really issue a prohibition for an exhaust least with no evidence?
  25. That's shocking. I'm not surprised that somebody took it out for a test drive, but they should have shown some respect/restraint. Speeding a bit is one thing, but doing that speed in a 40 is appalling. Hopefully the culprit will be banned and sacked.
