  1. olly elworthy, can I say for a second that you are my absolute hero and that I love you, , just kidding mate but you still are my hero as that is exactly what I needed and wanted for the last year, will this work on my corrado tho?
  2. ok so at about 3000 rpms in every gear I get this squeeky noise in the engine bay. I put the clutch in to make sure it wasnt the tranny or the axles, and its not. If I very carefully rev the engine I can get it to be present a little lower that than about 2000 rpms, its just a high pitch squeek, it makes me think either the engine bearings are shot, the alternator is shot, the charger is shot (still about 12 psi), or the ac compressor is shot... all I know it that the engine has to be under load for it to happen...it could also be the timing belt tensioner... anyway I dont know if anyone else has had this problem I remember jimsG60 reporting something about squeeling belts or something of that nature a while ago... dunno if he fixed it or what it was... also I have this problem with advancing and retarding, it feels like my car is retarded the full 12 degrees because all my power is up in higher rpms where it wasnt before... timing belt is tight, all I can think of is dizzy or knock sensor, I am buying an ECU just to make sure its not that either. I took a long freeway (fast road) trip about 300 miles I think the computer is stuck in retard or something I dunno I just have no low end power and is sluggish to get going, once its up above 4k tho is very forceful... I know its timing I just dont know what to check. the pitch of the intense squeeling changes as I slowly rev from 3000-3100... any help??

  4. ok just finished the steering install today, using 11S CRAZY expensive green fluid ... =-) glad thats done. the only problem is alignment... I aligned the car so that both wheels were straight, now I know I did it wrong cause one wheels pinion arm is uber extended while the other is uber short.... the steering is off too, it goes 1.75 turns to the left and stops and 1.25 turn to the right and stops. I believe I can fix this by moving the wheel to the center point, .25 turns to the right, take the wheel off, recenter it, then realign the wheels.... should only take about an hour or 2. I just want to know if this is the correct way to do it, or am I crazy? the only other problem I have is that isnt the corrado supposed to have a 3.5 lock to lock? if that is so then why the he|| does mine have it at 3? is there some sort of adjuster?
  5. ..... replace the whole column and VEEDUBBED is correct on the shafts and splines, later G60's will take early VR racks.... it has been done.why do you need a bottom u joint, my C has 140k miles on it and mines in tip top shape.
  6. I was thinking about taking the column off but I never did, and acutally got in back on amazingly Supercharged, I Know G12+ and all that jazz, the PAS fluid I have is wierd 18 US dollar german hydraulic fluid that they sold me... sorry for the confusion meant to say 11S.... or is it supposed to be 7S
  7. I removed the stock oil cooler and have a 8.5"x11" mocal cooler bolted to the front of my radiator, no AC condenser. so there is no water/oil close contact really, I am just looking for a CLEAN radiator, one that looks nice and performs better for my corrado, I am doing a race setup and am attempting to find race everything to go with most of the race parts I already have. thanks tho, water wetter sounds like G12+..... an additive to make things cooler?
  8. spoken like a true spy.... ;-)
  9. seriously... I want his brain for my corrado...
  10. havent seen any in the states because we suck and no one knows what a corrado is.... cept the few of us that do.... anyway... Looking for a racing radiator that can make a difference in cooling.
  11. cant see images... would like to tho. =-) try posting onto photobucket then posting link

    run on fan

I have the same problem on my G60, no one apparently knows, I have replace the themoswitch, wiring harness, relays, switches, and fuses, the only thing I have if fan after-run on switch that no one carries yours does sound like the thermoswitch tho being that your fan actually turns on period. mine doesnt. replace the thermoswitch with a low temp one before doing anything else.
  13. 4 hours later, no one has viewed... hehehe thats great yeah I got it, it took 3 hours of fandagling with the subframe, steering rack, and engine&tranny to finally get it in there and secure. in the end it required starting the spline, pulling myself up (stopping at the subframe) from the bottom of the car while holding onto the part that wouldnt slide freely so it moved a bit, supporting the rack on top of a 17mm socket on the subframe, jacking up the subframe up to where it attaches, bolting it onto the body of the car (this forced the Ujoint to impact whatever is below the brake booster), turning the wheel till I could get a spot to hammer the joint, taking a 20" worth of 3/8" socket extentions and hammering the final bit down. If I ever have to do this again it will be too soon. it was probably harder than taking out the tranny without dropping the engine, still amazed me, I just hope nothing leaks.... so finishing it off by bolting up the subframe and tightening the nuts on the steering rack. nothing better go wrong when torquing this thing to 96 ft lb, new bolts better hold up. for all those reading this, NEVER EVER EVER PUT THE WRONG STEERING FLUID INTO YOUR CORRADO! the guy who owned the car before me 2 years ago did that and has caused me probably 600 US dollars in damages just to the steering system. always put G11 in I believe... thats what I have anyway. someone confirm with me that G60's use G11 not G7?
  14. ok so I can get the spline ever so slightly started about 3-4 mm but after that it wont go it, there is nothing blocking the spline on the inside or the outside. I dont know what the heck is going on... is there some trick that I need to know in order the get the thing on....? the steering Rack's have the same teeth I checked, plus the part numbers are exactly the same. any help or post to another thread would be great thanks!
  15. so venom motorsport finally put their website up again, when I got there I found these, INPRO angel eye projection headlights: this is from the awesome GTI store... sorry http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/vw%20corrado/lighting.html OMFG arent those the nicest thing you have ever seen! they are 190 UK pounds + VAT. good thing I am US no VAT but shipping.... SOMEONE BUY THESE AND PUT THEM IN!!!!! ... and Im in college, moneyless with a corrado....
  16. replaced switches, relays, wiring harness, temp senders. would bad after run sender cause fan to not turn on at all? also would the fact that my wiring harness is not plugged into any A/C condensor make a difference. the fan doesnt come on with the temp senders, have to be on defrost to get it on. cant go up big hills without bubbling over the coolant system, from temp reaching 235F. also would a bad air/fuel ratio cause overheating? I get 17 mpg US gallon which is pretty low for me and I ahve black stuff all over the exhaust.... excess fuel.... race thermostat is holding my car onto the road.
  17. anyone in canada know what the prices of the parts that I posted are? thanks dinkus never thought of the canadians...
  18. thats why I asked from a dealer, because I know that most corrado's over there are RHD. I cant purchase these from the US dealers... I need them to be purchased and sent which is why I posted it. =-)
  19. I think there are a few people in northern california that want these... including me, anyone.?
  20. how much from dealer, possibility of a US group buy for these bad boys... 535 857 921 (4FB) black 535 857 953 A (bracket) 535 857 922 (4FB) black 535 857 925 (4FB) black 535 858 715 (bracket) I think thats about it. they are just the euro parcel trays but allow more leg room and amazingly more storage for CDs and what not!
  21. BTW your avartar rocks, tenacious D rocks my world
  22. they arent different as far as mounting goes but the G60 has a bigger fan. the 16V he "the same fan" according to etka.... lies. all US 16V fans are like 3-5 cm less in diameter. if you have a 16V see if you can get a G60 fan. if you have a G60 see if you can get it replaced... lets leave the VR6 fans to the VR6 guys.... as they cost 320 US..... way more than a G60 fan.
  23. ok changed fan thermoswitch, wiring harness, and relays, and fan itself with a new one. If I have a bad after run switch will this make the fan not turn on, I try to ground it out and some times it doesnt ground and the fan doesnt turn on.
  24. all of you should get some of these: http://www.bahnbrenner.com/media/php/ca ... 6&catid=83 http://www.bahnbrenner.com/media/php/ca ... hp?pid=918 I got some and the highest I have seen so far is about 195F with me going on and off the throttle in a very twisty situation for about 5 miles, up and down hills. love northern california, its like a track, but on road....
