  1. what about the high oil temp. it normall doesnt go above 100C/210F. I filled the system up from the epansion tank first then from the top of the radiator. how do I drain it again and do it correctly. I believe I undo the lower hose and let it drain, but how do I get all of the coolant out? especially without burning the water pump. thanks for the tips on the senders though. they are going to be the next thing I replace after the run-on switch dealie.
  2. I have a G60 and I just spent a lot of time replacing the heater core because it blew out on the way to San Francisco. After 20 hours of redoing the interior to get out all of the antifreeze I drove it again. The temperature for the water and oil then were extremely high. I just replaced the thermostat, radiator thermoswitch (for the fan?), Serpentine belt and V-belt, and expansion tank. I turn it on and let it idle and the water temp goes up to 210F/100C just like that, my oil temperature barely hits 200 at that point! Then I drive it around the block and the water temp goes up to 110C/230F. The oil temp the is skyrocketing at 240F/115C my car's water normally runs at barely under 200F/93C and oil runs at 210F/100C. I do not currently have coolant in the car and I have just straight water. This is a minor factor and not a 50 degree factor. The expansion tank also overfills itself when the car started cold at min. And finally the fan doesnt turn on till the water temp in the car reads 230! I dont know but something is screwy. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. P.S. Thermostat and radiator thermoswitch are 176F switches. and are there other fan switches that I should replace besides the after-run switch, the bentley doesnt label them all clearly or I am just blind.

  5. So I'm driving one day and my gauges are working perfectly, then the next day they dont work. I have probably tried everything. I checked fuses wires, took the lights out, tore the dash apart looking for non connected wires, they just dont work. none of my dash lights work. the cigarette lighter light doesnt work, heater lights = no work. the turn signals work, along with the brights and all the litle LED type lights on the bottom of the dash. if anyone has any info please feel free to respond. also the little oil can means oil pressure? because mine goes off every once in a while. and what is a good oil and water temp to be at. mine goes up to 240 oil on freeway, (due to exhaust leak). and I was wondering if this is really dangerous. water is at 200. but lights still dont work so anyone with info please respond or E-mail me at mailto:[email protected] thanx a bunch!
