I have a 1990 G60 and I just changed the oil cooler to the radiator style cooler to eliminate any water to oil heat transfer. my car did have oil in the water and it was from the stock oil cooler, which is now gone. my car didnt like the freeway before and still doesnt like the freeway now after theis transformation. my water temps normally stay at about 172F which is gratefully low for a corrado but its how I have tuned the car. the fact is when I get on the freeway and drive for like 5 miles the temp goes up to about 200F which is way too much for my liking. I drive it on the street and it stays low, especially in stop and go traffic. but once I keep the revs at about 2800 RPMs for a while the heat goes way up. anyone got anything. the radiator was just replaced but probably has excess oil in it.

I dont ahve a thermostatic adapter plate on mine, mine just flows freely. BTW I like the new ride henny

pic didnt flash. e-mail me at mailto:[email protected]

well, neil it all depends on what kind of oil cooler you fitted. 226 F or 108C is pretty high for a corrado, at the time you get 108 are you pushing the rrado or is it just chillin. if you are pushing it then you are ok, if you arent then you need an oil pump. hopefully your senders work. or be like me and get a Eurosport heavy duty oil cooler kit with a radiator style cooling system. 150 US without removing stock cooler. 200 US with removing stock cooler. keeps your temp at about 82C or 180F I am in northern california so do some climate adjustments

hey josh want to donate funds to 19 year old Jonathans corrado fund from santa rosa. I think we have both found that driving a corrado and going to college is quite and interesting experience

hey Red=Fast, I love your view on Xenons for corrados. "cops dont know whether they are new or old". dont you have problems with the heat and wires, I have done a 12V relay system to my headlights will that affect me putting in the xenons. BTW getting pulled over for going 60 in a 40 by a CHP just so he can look at your car and let you go home is awesome, especially when you live in Cali.

does your pressure sensor go off or how is it attached to the end of the head?
-
all I know is he said his gears were really worn after the first year of driving it like that. deform is not the best word for that situation.
-
its injector seals or the battery. my car did the same thing. I fixed both and it fixed the problem. also check your AFR it could be off and your car could be detonating

I have a G60 with a Cat and its still loud. get a 2.5" cat attachment for for the existing exhaust.

I just want to say good luck
-
check computer, I had the same problem with fuel distribution

I have used a liquid nitrogen setup on previous intercoolers, new ones. this reduces life of IC but allows for 10X better cooling costs about 120 pounds to rig up, go to a local aeresol refil station. they will have the parts

when you get gas get the highest grade then have it tested for 20 dollars for grade level.

just go buy a 13/16ths socket or a 15mm socket. I think my corrado is 13/16ths.

I want to set up an oil pressure gauge for my oil system so that I can monitor what my psi is. How do I set up the adapter for my system on my G60 cause I have no idea how to do it other than the side of the head. I dont have the stock oil cooler anymore, I recently removed it and changed out the hoses and system to run into a radiator style cooler, much more efficient for oil and water.
-
yeah he is right it doesn F- up your system. however if you have a leak already I have found that using straight up power steering leak stop, the petroleum based stuff, as fluid that my system has stopped leaking and has been fine for about a year. it reconditions the seals and builds up a layer of the crap that is inside it. when I change the rack to 14:1 steering I will change the system out and make sure its running only the green stuff.

there is something that engages the reverse into drive and it takes about 2-3 seconds to engage. try pushing down on the shifter, waiting, and then shifting. it worked for me.

I have talked to a guy here in the states that did the VR6 4*4 and he said it was great but reduced the life of the drivetrain to half of the original expected life. basically it puts a good deal of stress but nothing to shatter anything, it will however deform things over the long run. he was running about 350 bhp out of a turbo VR6
-
ok well tell me how that goes, I dont think I will do those just because of the fact that mine are black leather, the only thing off in my car is the roof and the mirrors because I have the leather in my car. get an itemized list if possible when you do it.
-
what about G60 with slider controls, can I convert to VR6 controls?

So I get a subscrition to performance VW and I was wondering if anyone knows how much it would cost to get my headliner replaced with a carbon fiber one, probably Epoxied. There is a company called All Smiles in the UK that makes them. does anyone know how much one of these would cost for my corrado.

the cars steering wheel goes counter clockwise or turns the car toward the left. The only reason I rules out the engine mounts is because the engine does move when the cars clutch is out, but not as severely as it does when the clutch is in. due the the fact that the knocking noise comes with a rather sudden jolt of gas, and the fact that the clunk is rather large, just getting the engine to move should reproduce the sound. the engine still has the balance factor while the clutch is out, if you rev the engine it will move backwards, if you let the revs drop it moves forwards, the direction of the force of acceleration on the crank and pistons create the movement of the engine, without the clutch catching.
-
I have been having this problem where if I gas the car quickly I get this CLUNK on the passenger side of the car and my steering shifts slightly. when I let go of the gas I get the clunk again and my steering corrects itself. if I put the clutch in, it doesnt happen, this makes me think its suspension and not an engine mount. anyone got anything? thanks.

my car is leaking oil into my coolant, no its no the headgas
potatonet replied to potatonet's topic in Engine Bay
Dipstick looks fins doesnte seem to be any oil on it after driving it like a madman, the only thing that I can think is that the water is escaping into the oil system and is evaporating from the engine heat. the oil that escapes into the water is staying there and causing the oil level to be low and causing the oil pressure light to come on unless I fill the oil system.
