my car is leaking oil into my coolant, no its no the headgas
potatonet replied to potatonet's topic in Engine Bay
Oh and I was driving home tonight and the car was acting up, No HP when cold then plenty of HP when warm, I would gas it then the oil pressure light and alarm would blair at me for the whole trip home, my water temp didnt rise a bit but the damn oil thing wouldnt go off unless I hit the dash, then it would go on again! I replaced both sensors about 300 miles ago cause I had the same problem. I really need help on this ones guys. Thanks. -
my car is leaking oil into my coolant, no its no the headgas

I am not positive but I think that its my oil cooler. I have water dissapearing though and my car will need to be refilled when the light tells me to every 3 or 4 days. driving the car the temp of the water stays down pretty decently, if I hit the gas the temp really doesnt go up. so thats why I think its not the headgasket, and the fact that it was just replaced about 2000 miles ago, I am boosting 11 PSI FYI. So yes there is oil in the water and I dont know why the oil cooler would fail/break. -
my car recently had its headgasket changed over to a copper headgasket and It was installed properly, my car is stilll leaking oil into the coolant anyone??

I slammed the gas on my corrado and my fuel, water temp, tach, speedo. everything just shut off, I still have a clock tho which makes me wonder, anyone got anything? I have no MFA abilities tho, and the car still starts. need fixed ASAP

car turns over doesnt spark. checked all fuses nothinbg there, I have rebuilt the ECU previously because of the grounding problem so I know its not that, the car isnt receiving the 12V+ to the ign coil I think I dont know I will check all the earth straps again but I dont know where the problem lies, I have checked all of the ign coil cables and nothing is missing. I removed 1 earth strap on the started but it is still on there.

OK so I replaced the tranny and I turn the key and my engine wont start. it turns over and all but it wont spark. I dont know where my battery goes for the thing to spark. I just need to get some tips about the engine not sparking. what to check where to look to see failure. I have gas inside the engine and I have checked a spark plug to see if it sparks. I got nothing. anyone?

OK so what does it do and is it ok if I take it off, it makes my car heavier and it looks like fore no reason, Benltey says stabilizer weight but I say make car slower weight. add up all those un needed parts and you got yourself about 50 lbs then you add the seats and spare tire +150 = 200 lbs from the corrado. thats a 2200 lb car depending on what year.

OK get ready, on most glow gauges there is an inline fuse that is placed along the 12V power source wire, remove this and it should work. if there is no fuse check the transformer that it came with to see if that is blown, hook it up to a 9V battery to test lights, if lights go on great, if you want to you can also hook to thing up to your battery with enough wire showing and there should be light if not then check your ground cable. thats all I know about these things. BTW where did you get that kit for your corrado? I like em.

uh your over heating during traffic is normal if you mean that it barely climbs if it goes a notch or more then you either need a new fan, or a radiator, also make sure that you have no pockets and check the POS plastic flanges on the head for water leakage. good luck, buy an ignition switch, the contact relay heats up and breaks the contact, when it cools the metal reforms, check to see if your key is hot after driving it for a while. remember when you change the ignition switch Drill the hole into the lock housing straight and exactly at 12mm from the key slot. good luck mate

ok so you will have one fun time changing that, I know that I am from the states and all and no one should make fun of me for it but it took me nearly 30 hours worth of work to get all of the coolant out of the carpet, insulation, and to get a new heater core into my G60, now I know I have more room than you do. if you want full instrunctions go to http://www.corrado-club.com, corrado information, FAQ's and tech tips, then it should be one of the options on how to change the damn thing, there is so much crap to move and pull out of the way. Good luck on yours I just did mine in june, along with the headgasket and over the past 2 weeks my tranny, stock differentials and their rivets suck. cheers mate as you folks say.

uh yeah corrado tranny's are terrible for power loss, get one by kraftswerk, they bring it down to about 16 to 17 percent loss. or you could be creative and attach a set of wheels to your engine, then you have 0 percent loss, well maybe 1 or 2 for rubber and give. dont actually do that though I 'm kidding.

yeah I had the same problem, couldnt figure it out, apparently there is a short somewhere. I had to take it somewhere to get it fixed. check your stereo to see if it is causing the short, mine was.

yeah I think you are correct, I am in california, no jabba here, only BBM but thats still about 800 miles away

Transmission mount, flywheel, transmission removal
potatonet replied to potatonet's topic in Drivetrain
ok I know I can use a front mount off of a mk II GTI, can I use the same metal piece that attaches the tranny to the mount? also I know that the flywheel has bolts on it there are 6 of them and I am just posting this to figure out how to remove them because of the fact that the flywheel moves when you try to remove them. there s got to be a trick or something because I am not going to go out and buy some random 100 dollar tool that will halt the movement of the flywheel. I dont have an impact driver though I should I know how do I stop it from moving so that I can remove it with a breaker bar? -
Transmission mount, flywheel, transmission removal
potatonet replied to potatonet's topic in Drivetrain
how do I get the flywheel off though? -
I have a transmission mount that looks busted and a front engine mount that is completely fried. can I use the transmission mount for any other car besides a g60 passat and can I use like a GTI or jetta front mount? anyone know if they are the same part. second I have a flywheel that I cant get off my car, anyone know any tips for removal of flywheel for corrado's and should I have it resurfaced or should I just attach the new clutch to the thing without resurfacing. I had a bitch of a time removing the transmission and I am just wondering if there is an easier way to remove this thing the bentley doesnt help me much. I lifted it pulled it back and then moved it about 1000 times to get the axle flange to clear the flywheel and to get the differential to miss the subframe.

When I shift my corrado backfires, kinda like a pfft, only high revs anyone got anything, and is harmonic resonance common on this car?

Got a 90 corrado G60 that is being twin screwed soon and I need suggestions on how to Mount a 20V head on a G60 block. I dont want to go out and buy a 1.8t engine and put it in, I like my corrado block and am just wondering if it can accept a 20V head easily, or should I just go with the 16V head and stick with mkII. anyone know where I can get a description on how to do this???
-
probably has been discussed here before, my 90 corrado vibrates in the cabin at about 2500-3000 RPMS, then goes away afterwards. any thoughts?
-
"spot on" like you guys say, thanks henny will try to replace sensors, But I still have a small leak somewhere, will lookf for a blowby spot today.

ok so I have driven my corrado for about a year now and I used to be able to get rid of the oil pressure light by letting the revs drop, may sound wierd but true, well recently I have had the problem of the light and sound staying on even if I truned the car off and then back on again, whenever I jumped past the 2100 mark where it requires 20 PSI to not go off it goes off, I dont know where the leak is but I have a small oil leak somewhere in the car and the exhaust header seems to be getting some oil on it, headgasket was done about 1000 miles ago, retighten cover bolts? I had re attached a gas line that was loose and it started doing this I dunno sounds wierd to me. anywhere I can check that may be good would help a lot thanks. yes the light goes on inside the car so the switch is ok I think.
-
ok so I ahve replaced everything inside the engine as fas as cooling goes, the oil cooler is the last thing I think. I have a g60 and it has had problems with water, right now it forms an air pocket somewhere dunno where. there is also oil in the water, the car doesnt overheat, but there is still oil there, I have replaced the headgasket less than 1500 miles ago, its copper and o-ringed, no its not the headgasket. anyway I was thinking about a eurosport oil cooler and hopefully that would work, how does it r-route the water? and where does the radiator type thing go? I have AC. dunno any help would be good. yea I am filling the system correctly.
