  1. Hi Ant, I got scared when I saw she'd been retired! I am really chuffed that I sold her to someone did everything I wanted to do but just didn't have the skill, time or money to do! they are hideously addictive cars and now I have moved alot closer to where I work and I seriously tempted to get another VR :) If your ever driving down the M40 and fancy a cup of tea and the chance to show her off, give me a text/PM as it would be lovely to see the both of you again. John
  2. Hi Tony, I don't remember it crunching when I was driving it, but it was over a year ago :)
  3. Got to admit, the shot with the bumper off it a little scary, but I am glad it went to such a good home!
  4. I'd be interested in seeing how the headlining job comes out. I would like to do it myself :)
  5. Hi 8vMatt, I installed my loom a while back and its a bit of a hefty job :) Basically, I took the whole dash out (as I was swapping it with a black one anyway). Used the big circular earth connection which is bolted to the chassis and sort of below the drivers side tweater as my earth. I used viewtopic.php?f=19&t=76368&p=905110&hilit=heated+seat+wiring#p905110 to find where to put the live, however, I got it wrong slightly wrong and used a permanent live instead of a switch live so my switch is illuminated all of the time :) I then ran the wire behind the speedo etc until I reached the central column where the handbrake sits. As i think my wiring loom is too short, I had to run the cable along that tunnel with the cables for the seats running left and right, however, I understand that the correct way is to run it alongside the passenger door as the relay bolts in behind the passenger rear door card. As I ran mine through the center, there is a small bump underneath the rear passengers carpet but it is barely noticeable. If you need any more help, PM me :)
  6. I keep spotting a J reg green C, not sure if its a VR6 or a Valver on my way to and from work. Its usually somewhere between Old Stratford and Deanhanger along the A422 near Milton Keynes.
  7. Was there only ever one color of beige? My front seats are much browner than my back so I would like to both to match and I was wondering if i could use your colour code. Would this dye work on alacantra? Thanks John

    Headlining

My stealer said it was obsolete :(
  9. I was wondering if anyone else's VR6 is a little bit grumbly when it starts. Its only ever the first start of the day but it is a little irratic in its reving and very little power. After approximately 1/4 of a mile or 2-4 minutes of driving its gone. Is this a common problem or does my Rado need some more TLC :)
  10. I am the same as Jon_VR6. I get around 33-35 MPG on the motorway and thats doing between 70-75.

    Headlining

Hi Guys, Does the biege interior come with its own headlining or is it the same as the Grey or Black. Any pictures would be appreciated! John
  12. Hi Blue, If it has a cream interior (wishful thinking, i know!) could you let me know! Thanks
  13. Id be interesting in finding out how much they charge you. My seats are a right state :)
  14. two stickers please :) Let me know the payment :)
  15. I got mine replaced by autoglass in December through my insurance. Only cost 70 quid but your original would have to "get broken" first.
  16. Hi Guys, As some of you may have seen, some idiot broke into my car a month back and did an absolute number on my drivers do. So much so that it ruined the latch and the door was locking with key only. This was fine until I got the respray done when the guy repaired the handle and mentioned that the key worked but not the central locking so I take my car to ASDA, lock the drivers door with the key, lock the car and now the drivers door can not be opened. I have just spent £250 on a new respray and £700 on a new cream interior so I would be really grateful if anyone knows a way of getting the door open without damaging either!! Also if anyone has a drivers side latch mechanism, I would be very interested! Cheers!! John
  17. I get the same issue on my VR6, It usually re-adjusts itself after a while. If i am honest I think its a quirk with most cars, I have a 51 x-type and a 52 Hyundai Coupe and they both had this issue to varying degree's. Its rather annoying isn't it!! JP
  18. Hi Jason, Would you like me to pop round over the weekend (if my car is back from the sprayer) so you can take a look at my dials? John
  19. It might be worth checking the ABS light. There appears to be two types of connections and I am afraid I have no idea if its age, engine or spec related. one ABS light consists of two seperate plugs (one small and one large) the other consists of a single solid connection. Whilst i am sure the wizards on here will be able to tell you why they are different, I can only tell you that there is some deviation.

    door pillars

MK3Damo is selling some Alacantra in the for sale section. I brought some vanilla off of him last night to retrim my roof. He had retrimmed his roof and various other bits and it looked VERY nice. I can't wait to do it to mine :) Some piccies of his car viewtopic.php?f=11&t=74659&start=45
  21. Thanks Butterfly, you have been a huge help. I will post some pics tomorrow of the section that is missing a gromit as I cant tell if it should be missing or not. Thanks! john
  22. Do you need a fuse for this or are they built into the relays?
  23. I have just been underneath my car and the gromit holes closest to the wheel arch on both sides have no cover at all. Should they? if so then I think I have found my problem :) JP
  24. Thats are the drain holes the small holes seen where the wheel arch join the sill? Thanks John
  25. Just to clarify, the condensation is only on the inside of the sheet metal. Windows etc are actually fine! When you take the rear door cards off there are various holes that allow you to see through from the inside to the outer shell of the body. the metal on mine has a white color to it. It is this area here that is condensing and i think it is what is causing the quarter panels to rust through. As I have the door cards off at the moment, i want to try and sort it now :) John
