  1. Always welcome to use any of my "snaps". I did post a lot up on here of Stanford Hall, and I have a heap from Castle Coombe. However, I hadn't realised you needed content so badly. My question mark was on the cover photo - the Scirocco that was slap plum in the picture! Still, could have been worse...!
  2. Cheers Dom - I'll double check them!
  3. So that's what those small slots and holes are! I had to make sure they went on the same way they came off too even though I hadn't a clue what they were for as they didn't fit over anything specific. Wobble Bar? Weren't they a chocolate from the late 70's?!
  4. Yesterday I got the stainless steel fuel tank straps on which was a doddle until one bolt up at the back, hiding over the axle on the fuel filler side, decided it was happy where it was. Had to go an buy a 13mm adjustable ratchet spanner which moved it eventually. What turned out to be a 20 minute job lasted about two hours! The forum buy is a good one. A warning though. When tightening up the bolts, just check the end of the strap with a flat head screwdriver to stop it twisting. So, today, after a 90 mile run, I've checked the bolts and I've still got a fuel tank! There was a lot of dirt that made for another "interesting" two hours cleaning with the magic sonic brush from Aldi - I love that thing! However, I spotted a heap of rusty stuff like the exhaust hanger bracket. It'll have to wait though. Pleased with the finish, although the wife and sister don't really get shiny bits you can't see. A bit like millions of pairs of earrings that are in boxes?
  5. Coming from the Midlands I tend to get hefty with hammers and spanners. Anyone tell me what the torque settings are for the bolts on the tank straps?
  6. Creamy White lowered C waiting to turn right onto Abingdon Rd, Oxford last night. K? Reg. gave you :thumbleft:thumbs up out the window of the company car and could have been deemed as random nutter.
  7. Just a quick reply and thanks for the advice. The old girl is now sporting a full set of Rainsport 2's. The noise gone and a pleasure to be in without the stereo on! I haven't had a chance for a full blown run, but so far so good. Cheers.
  8. I wonder if you rocked up to the butchers in a dogs dinner, would the lamb have been cheaper?!
  9. I've gone and ordered a set of Rainsport 2s which will be fitted on Monday. Once I get a chance to test them out, I'll report back.
  10. Oil & battery meters that sit in the hole in the centre console. I think they were an under added add on and I think mainly on US spec Vrs! Ever hopeful...
  11. Arrived safe and sound yesterday cheers. All I've got to do is persuade someone to assist me. I don't trust my Midland upbringing. I'm sure some BL oil seeped into my blood somehow. Thanks again for organising.
  12. The Uniroyal Rainsport 2's get pretty good reviews apart from being noisy. What are they like noise wise on a C? I'm on stock 15" Speedlines.
  13. Looking for a VDO unit if there's one nesting in there?
  14. Well, I think that's the first option then. I've got Dunlops on the rear and they have been great, but although they have plenty of tread, they are old! Looking at all sorts of tyre comparison sites the struggle is the flipping choice. I agree tondef that tyres ain't what they used to be. Hopefully I'll get them sorted over the weekend and I'll let you know if we're on track with the rubber or getting our bearings. Cue Stewie voice, "See what I did there?".
  15. Hi Hasan, Thanks to Hawkwind I have now paid for my set of 70ltr straps. Look forward to receiving these. If you could mark me as paid up please? Thanks for all your efforts and patience. Cheers
  16. Got a double C feast today. First one was about 12.40. Blackish, lowered, great rims and really looked A1 on the Poole to Blandford Road, on a private plate. I flashed and :thumbleft: was in the company crap heap so you may have been puzzled at an over-excited old geezer! Whoever you are (and you're not local) you have a lovely car and if you're in Dorset, get in touch through here or Dorset Corrado on FB! Second one looked standard and sort of Blackberry colour at Derbys Corner heading toward Broadstone. Had no chance of waving! Most in one day outside of a meet!
  17. Cheers for the advice. Still puzzled on the bearings as there's no play at all. However, I'll certainly have a feel of the tyres. I've had a visual look at them, just to make sure the tread was legal, but not really at the wear levels to see that they are level - good tip! I'm running some Dunlops on the rear which were on the front. I had them moved to the rear when I felt I needed new fronts. I'm going to try tyres first and see what happens. Cheers all - I'll let you know one way or the other. I'll either be moaning or hooping for joy! Cheers again.
  18. OK, so the car went in to the garage the other day to have some bits done, one of which was to check all the running gear as I had two issues - rear brake squeak that goes away when you put the brakes on and a low drone that gets going from 40 - 60 and then goes away. The brakes were gone over and copper-slipped etc but squeak is still there. Drone hasn't gone away and garage is suggesting changing bearings but there's no sign of play on any of them. Any ideas on the drone before I send it back in. I also have a third occasional noise which comes from back end, low down from the engine and only happens when under a slow load - hill start, or going up a small slope in to my lock-up. Not sure if this has anything to do with the drive shaft? The only way I can fix these is by turning up the stereo, so any advice is appreciated!
  19. I've just registered and hope to make it up from Dorset if there are any others - get in touch either through here or FB -https://www.facebook.com/dorsetcorrado?ref=hl
  20. Red VR6 behind me in the company crap-heap (Ford) on the road to Bridport today. Did wave as we left you at the town bypass roundabout. Was driving slow in the hope you'd blast past and we could have got some pics!
  21. Last Thursday (I know - late as ever) saw an unknown blue C on the A31 at Farnham. L? reg driven by a lady. We were both stuck at lights and it wasn't until we were moving that I saw you!
  22. Here's the pics. 23. Yay! Hats off to Faye for setting this up. Lovely to meet some new people, seeing some lovely cars and stuffing my face with a cracking roasty. Hope everyone made it home safe. Will post up some pics in a couple of days. Cheers x
  24. Faye - Looks like myself and Owen are coming up from Dorset. Anyone else from that neck of the woods - we're meeting at Ringwood Bus Station at 9AM. Save some chips :thumbleft:
  25. Sorry Hassan, I'm one of those late payers. Will do soon - just need to sell a few more records and I'll be there.
