1. Trying to get Dorset Corrado together (herding cats). Have you settled on 1st Sept?
2. We've gone and put up a Facebook page for local meets, parts swap, convoys etc. http://www.facebook.com/dorsetcorrado - A few likes wouldn't go amiss. There's still Southern Corrado Club but Ray the admin went and sold his motor:scratch: So, for now we're using this page.
3. Can't think who you mean!? There was me moaning to Dave that because silver is common on the roads (not so on C's as it happens, no one takes much notice of silver in a line up of cars. Well, that's that theory gone bang!
4. Fresh and clean. The site is good too! Good looking on Safari. Would love to be able to change the blue as it's pretty dominant to my old eyes. That said, as an old dog, I will learn new tricks.
5. Decided that the forecast wasn't too bad so went to meet David in his Nugget in a lay-by near the entrance to Dorset Vokesfest. He said, "Wanna enter the show n shine?". Why not. Entered, parked up and did a bit of polishing as I've not touched her since Castle Coombe. Judges came and went. Was up the hill with Dave yelling. It turns out I'd only gone and won "Best Water Cooled VW"! Not too shabby as it's the first show 'n' shine I've entered. Nice home-made wooden trophy and winners T-shirt to look forward to in the post! Chuffed as....
6. Yes!!!! I'll PM my number but we'll hang on at Tesco in their carpark rather than the petrol station. Wooo Hoo ! Can't wait. Don't forget to bring, water, white linen suit, pith hats, parasols and sun-cream!
7. Fay - 7am at Tesco in Blandford - 40 - 1 hr away from Lyme. Poole contingent setting off at 6.30. If you want to come across and up with just yell !
8. Ahead of the weekend, was going to polish it but all paint felt gritty. No idea what it was so washed ready for some wax on Friday night. No one breath. And if those feckin' bats in the lock up start pooping I'll be making bat jam.
9. Yes - put me down for a set please - and same question as above! VR6 fit.
10. Picked up my old, tatty Speedlines from the paint shop. Jeeez - Do they look good! Can't wait to get them on tomorrow morning. ---------- Post added at 6:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:04 PM ---------- Picked up the old Speedlines from the bodyshop and they look like new.:smug: Can't wait to fit them tomorrow morning.
11. Spotted blue C at the bridge in Wimborne heading out toward Cranbourne. Flashed, thumbs up and waved. Driver looked puzzled at idiot in a Ford company crap heap!
12. You only have to pay to get in, not out! Don't over do the polish Dave, or I won't recognise you!
13. I'd try diluted vinegar first. It's cheap. It works, and using newspaper avoids smears.
14. Finally got to grips with the old scuttle tray. All it needed was brute force! Nineteen odd years of crud under there so gave that a tidy. Got the new scuttle on which looks neat. Still waiting for those Speedlines to come back refurbished and painted, but enjoying the "mean" look of borrowed matt black Oz Leggeras!
15. Details on the link if you're a CCGB Member http://www.corradoclubgb.co.uk/ccgb16/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=2&id=4948&Itemid=190 You might want to investigate further but this is the first post on the event on CCGB. 2013 is the 25th anniversary of the Corrado! So a speial National day is in order. When: Saturday 20 July 2013 Where: Castle Combe Format: Club Parking in the paddock area, most likely in the centre grass field. Parade lap!!! Part of Autometrix VW track day, so anyone who wants to can battle it out with others in a track session. Cost for a session: Dedicated club track sessions, needs 12 cars to make up a session, £35 per person per session, needs to be booked/paid in advance but organiser will also admit gate entry for the day (normally £10). Payment through the CCGB events manager (me, Eric), deadline for payment: 1/7/2013, so I have plenty of time to pay Autometrix. No pay, no session! Contact me for payment details. When taking part in a track session, you also need to take part in the safety briefing session. Entry to the paddock for all members is £10 (to be paid on gate), fee raised by Castle Combe, NOT Autometrix!
16. I'd be up for a set (VR6) having just clocked the state of mine! Look forward to the pics on these before making firm commitment.
17. Well, I've now found the small plastic clips which break hold it on. Is there a way of pressing these up from the underside, or should I just yank the bloody thing and hope? !

Masses of Corrados etc. For anyone going from the South Coast, we're planning a bit of a convoy to Castle Coombe. 6.30 @ MacDonalds car Park - Holes Bay Poole BH15 3TE. Really looking forward to this one  IF YOU HAVEN'T REGISTERED - DO IT NOW! Hope to see all our Dorset, Hampshire and Devon C's represented - at least one of each colour and size - matron...
19. I know this is "Group buy", but you've all got nice new scuttle trays. I tried to remove the old one last night and as I didn't want to snap anything was quite gentle. Removed caps, wipers, 2 screws and rubber. Darn thing felt glued down. What am I missing... apart from a brain?!
20. Got my SWG scuttle that is way too shiny for my liking. So today I spent time carefully washing it down with warm soapy water. 10.30. Then I donned latex gloves (perv) so as not to get grease on the thing. Then it was a rub down with 1000g wet n dry (on the scuttle - come on - keep with it). I grabbed the old can of Fast Black which is a heat resistant matt black. The stupid nozzle was squirting paint rather than diffusing it. Too late - runs and drips. While it was drying I got a nice small can of satin black from the car shop. Rubbed the whole thing down - again. Painted with a thin coat. Waited to dry. Noticed the bloody runs still there. :bonk: Repeated. Rub down, paint. Still not good. Got fed up with the wimpy 1000g wet n dry and went for the rough stuff. Got it as flat as I could and sprayed again. Ran out of paint. 6.10 and the shop is shut... Maybe tomorrow...
21. Cheers Owen. Hope to attack it tomorrow but doubt if I'll get it done before the run on Sunday - hope to see you!
22. My SWG Scuttle arrived today and I'm looking to take some of that shine off. I've got a can of Fast Black that I once used on my bike exhausts. However, what's the best prep'? Should I, wash wash it with soap and warm water, lightly sand with 600 grade wet n dry, blow over with air and paint? I've been reading a heap of stuff about painting fiberglass but not much relates to the shiny side!
