  1. Yeah it's not connected Rog, it usually follows the oil pressure sender wires and just hangs loose at the guide part. Mines just tucked back in on itself and out of the way.
  2. Yeah it does, love it it seems so blase about it! If I was was at 140, I'd be bricking it and do more than just slow down a bit!
  3. They're a bitch to get in and onto the clips in the tight spaces though! The tool isn't cheap either that's the problem.
  4. Good work and good vid. Love how your quicker cornering than a 4wd Scooby! :thumbleft:

    Door Seals

Yeah that's right, as I said available from VW Heritage at £70 odd per side though.

    Door Seals

The inner aperture seal if that's what you mean is available from VW Heritage. Not cheap though! There are alternatives which are cheaper, but they're not exact and leave a small gap where it should overlap the rear cards. If it's the outer curved trim seal though, I've not been able to find new replacements. I was lucky enough to find a second hand one in good order though which is good as the original split when trying to remove it.
  7. Interested in b pillar trims and all the clips if your splitting. Also parcel shelf if courier could be arranged?
  8. I did think that too, but assumed you'd either moved it on or wanted to keep it together. :bonk: I'd get new seals for it though mate, quite a common area for leakage and you'll probably see the state of them when they're removed.
  9. If you hang fire for a few days Rog, I'm pretty sure I have one on the spare lump that you can have. I'll pop in the car club in the week and grab it for you if you like?
  10. Physically the same, but the thread pitch on the banjo is a different size. 1mm for mk 4, 1.5mm for mk3 iirc.
  11. Someone once said to me buy land, they don't make it anymore!
  12. The 288s JUST fit under the standard 15" wheels. Have a look in the wiki section on the brake upgrade thread, it'll tell you exactly what you need.
  13. They're around the £8 mark for 1.5 litres. Usually two bottles diluted is sufficient for temps in the UK.
  14. 8.2 litres or 8.6 with a/c according to the handbook.
  15. So want these, alas a new daily, a holiday, and a respray have wiped me out for a good while yet! :(
  16. Daves16v does the brackets Rog, have a look in the suppliers forum for the thread. My crack pipe did exactly that when I removed it too. I got one from vdubmachine for a tenner in the end. As mentioned, give the whole a Damn good rub down and a light smearing of grease before refitting.
  17. It's labour charge that costs the money. The bearing itself is a little over a tenner, but it's a gearbox off job so likely to be around £150 I reckon.
  18. So what evidence do you need to provide for the business/sole trader deal?
  19. Congrats Daren, looks a very good car. As mentioned, a worthy replacement indeed!
  20. Bonnet is coming off so the underside can be done, but doors and tailgate will be staying on I think Matt. I would have liked all shuts doing but it would bump the price up beyond my budget. The base of the door shut where the kick plates are being done though.
  21. Now out of my hands.......................

    Side strips

Carpro Dlux, or Gtechniq C4. Both pricey but will last approximately 2 years depending on condition. Will absolutely knock 90% of off the shelf trim restorer products out the park. There are others, but these two are probably the best on the market by far. The best detailers in the world use these products and charge for it too!
  23. Balls. Old ones it is then, but probably not good enough quality to make it this year. Oh well, always next year!
  24. Seeing the work they've done on the cars in their shop, I don't anticipate too much detailing required James! At worst, a single stage mop with a finishing polish and pad, then protection with the Cquartz which is egging me on to get started! . I know for a fact I'll be faffing about with trim and things for a while yet though, and I've also got loads of jobs I wanted to do over the last few weeks that I haven't had time for. I should be able to put a couple of solid weeks of work in mid October though, so I'm contemplating keeping it tucked up for winter, but it depends which ship I join early next year and what it's doing. Should find out next month though where I'm off and when though.
  25. Well tomorrow is the big day! Not received my number plate tub from P3rks yet which was apparently posted two weeks ago, and no reply from Pm. If anyone knows him personally and has his number, could you pass it to me or give him a nudge please. I'm on holiday from Sunday for 10 days so won't have chance til after that if I don't find out now. Anyway, it's being picked up around 10am tomorrow, and I'll be following it down to finalise work I want done. Heres how she stands........... Excited but nervous at the same time! I'll ask them to email me some photos to document along the way too. :bounce2:
