I expected that from you too James! Alcohol in the Emirates is far more tolerated than most Arab states, and Guinness is probably the most common of the lot! I've been there about a dozen times so I'm well versed in the local boozers! As long as it's not on the streets, it fine. That said, I watched Robbie Williams at the race course, and it was available there in the open air. I suppose it's not really in public sight though.

Probably been quite a few of these over the years, but why not have another! I'm generally a lager drinker, but do occasionally sample various ales. I enjoy trying different ones so I'll buy a handful of random ales when they're on offer at the supermarket, and try to find ones I've not yet tasted. I'm having a night on the Guinness tonight after buying ingredients and making steak and Guinness pie for tea, so just got to thinking what everyone elses tipple was?

Anyone having problems with the site freezing?

Sorry Andi, just seen that post. No, the link above if accessed via that is very quick and exhibits none of the problems I usually occur. -
It to, too, two that winds me up!

The film linked above if anyones ever seen it paints a pretty accurate picture imo of what it'd be like after a nuclear holocaust, if a little over the top at the end. As said though, it's a political tool rather than a usable weapon these days. We don't need nuclear weapons anymore, but the deterrent is still valid. The V boats could be quite easily moved to Plymouth. HM naval Base Devonport already has the facilities, and carries out major refits of all classes of our Nuclear Submarine Fleet. To that end, I think it's a non issue. If Scotland don't want it, fine. Loose thousands of jobs and relocate or create them in Plymouth. Simple.

Ahhh it all becomes clear now. Roof gutter trim thief! Nice addition Micheal. As much as I try to convince the missus, and almost got through, she's right in that it's just not practical having a second C as the daily as its a struggle fitting the two kids in the back! Very envious though. :thumbleft:

Does it affect me, not really. Therefore I don't really have much interest, I've just been looking on it with slight curiosity. I think it was overwhelmingly no before the last month or so, but I think the younger generation get caught up in the hype and enthusiasm that has been surrounding Salmond and his yes campaign lately though. So I reckon it'll be a narrow yes win. Either way, I'm not arsed until I'm affected by any of it.

Mines disconnected too and it doesn't affect braking - well apart from no abs obviously! I have vcds and can interrogate the system though, so it's possible your obd scanner isn't compatible, or there is another underlying issue. Put out a request for anyone in your area to scan it for you for a few beer tokens, and it should give you something a little more solid to go off mate.
-
You don't need a button for that to happen Sean!
-
If the one labelled in you signature (95 16v) then yes it should. All Corrados from 93 (iirc) onward should have abs. It's likely someone has put a blank there as there was a fault, so to fool the MOT tester. You'll need a good working lamp to diagnose any fault as the lamp is integral for the system to perform the startup sequence.

If you can find out what damage was caused, and when it was it declared cat D that would help. On older cars, cat D will likely be bodywork damaged therefore uneconomical to repair. This should be reflected in the price as many will be put off by it. If you know the extent of the damage then you can assess if it's worth considering. Unless I knew, I wouldn't buy one personally as there could be damage that wasnt noticed but could affect the structure and therefore handling of the car.

Well done Dragon, this is a really helpful thread for all of us as time goes by and our MC inevitably fails. Really looking forward to hearing the details once it's fitted, and may be something else to put on my list of jobs!

I know what your saying Jim. Mines on 17" wheels with 40 profile tyres to run as near as the true rolling radius as possible. To give an indication, at Bruntingthorpe down the runway I had 143 indicated with 138 on the tomtom so not a million miles out. I achieved the figures I mentioned above as indicated though. As for 158, I don't buy that either, not stock anyway. I ran,out of runway on the top speed test but didn't have much more to give tbh. I think the quoted figure of 146 is probably realistic though.
-
Sounds about right on both those figures that I've managed. Think it was about 68 in second, and I got to 110 in third with a little left, then thought I'd better slow it down a tad! Bear in mind the speedo isn't particularly accurate, and wheel size, tyre profile, and even tyre wear will have an affect of at least a couple of mph at these speeds too.

I'd imagine you'd be laughing your tits off watching England James!

I feel really aggrieved that this is happening. Such a well sorted, respected amongst the community, and what was a low owner car being passed from pillar to post. This kind of example really needs to remain in the hands of a true enthusiast to give it the attention it deserves. Very disappointing and I'd be truly upset if it was mine originally. :(
-
I'm drinking too. It's the only enjoyment I get from watching England!

I'll have a rear vr6 badge and an accelerator pedal cover please Michael. Oh and a set of roof strips for £70 if you have them. PM me your details and I'll get it over. Thanks mate.
