If you can check it on Vagcom I'd say that's your first step, but sounds a bit like crank sensor, although generally it'll cut out when warm. Not always the case obviously as deferent degrees of breakdown will give different symptoms, but that's certainly a possibility imo.

Shame about this Rob, will you still be going to the totally VAG show in the t4? Needs must I suppose mate, the tax man is a bitch, more cash in hand jobs in the future! Lol

I'll let you both know when I do, and I may even come down in the Corrado to show it off! Rob, heritage had them in for over a week. I phoned to chase it up on Monday, and they said it's all now in, but they only took payment for items which were in stock, so I had to pay the outstanding balance before they would be sent. That's fine regarding payment, but I was a little disappointed they didn't call or email me to say it was all back in etc etc. Anyway, all here now so that's the end of it. When is that show down your way, I forget what it's called but I remember we had all said we'd attend!

Strip down finally complete. A couple of nightmare parts to remove which are either already on the way (rear number plate tub), and some I need to put a wanted ad up for (spoiler arm guide tubes). Other than those, all went well. I'm leaving the bonnet, slam panel, and door handles on for them to remove, all very easy to get off and left on to aid transportation. Fitted the BMC CDA the other day, and I'll change a split cv boot and do the 288mm front brake upgrade next week. Might well do the abs pump too if I get time. My heritage order arrived finally yesterday almost a month after being ordered, no overly impressed with the service but on the plus side, I now have brand new genuine scraper seals and door aperture seals. :smug: I'm away for 10 days whilst it's in paint but after that I'll be feeding and sealing the leather again, and cleaning the life out of everything I've taken off and applying carpro dlux to all plastics in preparation for it going back on. I also have cquartz to apply to the paintwork when it's back, which should help keep it nice and shiny for a couple of years at least. Anyway, enough waffle, some pics! BMC CDA fitted. Stripped down......... Offending rear boot with an absolute ton of tigerseal all over, necessitating some rather heavy handed removal techniques, which unfortunately culminated in a very cracked old tub.......... Rusty inner arch which is being cut out with new metal welded in. And finally, anyone have a part number, or know of a suitable replacement for these friction pads? Getting excited yet a bit apprehensive about it now! I've written a list of items I want them to sort which wasn't originally discussed, but hopefully won't bump the price up too much! Cheers all!

If you read the description it says collection only. The delivery price is obviously just put on there to put off people asking for delivery.

If your still interested in producing a Corrado script badge and need an original badge as a base for profiling, I have a worn but solid one I'd be happy to send to you Matt? Still seems to be a lot of interest in a reproduction of these, even if the pins at the rear are not possible/too difficult to mould. I'm sure most would still be happy with one that would require sticking on..........

Agreed James, I do have a few favourites that I watch quite often. That said, I also have a few I never watch.....Bond Bug and Subaru Impreza for example.

On the Virgin box unfortunately Rog. I series linked them all to ensure I didnt miss any! I always watch old Wheeler dealer and Car SOS episodes, but tbh, I don't bother with the others. Just habit with keeping those ones.

Doesn't matter about orientation, the relays have different pin locations so will only fit in the specific connectors anyway mate.

That's fair enough mate, the RXs are pretty Damn heavy too with tyres, and there is a very noticeable drop off in handling with them fitted. Frequency calibration has to be done live with Radar type 996 (which is what I was referring to), and involves sticking your hand in the back of the cabinet past the biggest capacitors you've ever seen in your life! Squeaky but time it is no matter how many times I've done it!

Wimp, I've gotta deal with Radar kicking out 15kV! As for the Speedlines. :scratch: got to admit Sean, I think I preferred the CHs. Looked a lot more purposeful on them IMO.

I think VW made advancements as early as the mk3 tbh. Not in terms of material quality, but fit was world's apart in comparison to other manufacturers in similar marques of that era. I'd go with Audi for quality on mainstream cars, and the worse has to go to the MG6 I had as a courtesy car when my valver was written off. That thing was diabolical, and beggars belief how a modern car manufacturer can churn out such poor quality and let it get past even Chinese QC. For me, BMW have had the same interior for about 20 years. It looks very dated and boring, with the same brushed aluminium effect strip along the passenger side dash. This year has seen an improvement though. With lots of toys as standard, a new design was needed and it's a vast improvement.

If you have a clay bar handy that should get most of it off. As it's on the windscreen, a bit of turps wouldn't hurt either mate.
