  1. In that case, I need a set so I'll have em if their still available. PM details please. :thumbleft:
  2. Use your widow maker or something to push the hub up slightly. May help.
  3. Not changed one on the Raddo tbh so don't know if its front end off. If it is, its just the hassle of taking front bumper and slam panel off, they are an absolute PITA! If you've got A/C too, thats even worse! Have a search, sure I've seen a guide or something on here. If not there's bound to be one on VWVortex. Have a google search. :D
  4. Dry it all off and put some talc on the end. Should be able to spot where its coming from then. :D
  5. Just what temperature its rated at really. There are loads on ebay in whatever colour you want too. Its your call whether to use any silicon hose thats not rated for high temps tbh. There's not a constant flow of water at least, but worth getting the right stuff imo.
  6. MOT history would show milage from previous. Can check it out online. http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=mot%20history%20check&source=web&cd=1&sqi=2&ved=0CDkQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.direct.gov.uk%2Fen%2FMotoring%2FOwningAVehicle%2FMot%2FDG_10020539&ei=ETxuT_7qHcz58QOWy_2_DQ&usg=AFQjCNF56app2NDiRF-nS_ZgcQ5Z09_nBg shows the last 5 years or there abouts. No way of knowing just by checking though, unless its been stuck on their diagnostic and milage has been read that way. Never knew this could be done though tbh.
  7. http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=corrado%20vr6%20gearbox%20removal&source=web&cd=3&ved=0CEEQFjAC&url=http%3A%2F%2Fforums.vwvortex.com%2Fshowthread.php%3F2598360-DIY-VR6-12v-Transmission-Removal-Clutch-and-Flywheel-replacement.-with-PICS&ei=SBpuT-T-C4238gOLl82_DQ&usg=AFQjCNEmjZnXfV-nx-NMoOcwNSonoGRrlg Google is your friend!
  8. Top work, looks good and loving the cup holders! :thumbleft:
  9. 8mm inner diameter if iirc. You will need about 1.25 metres of it. :D
  10. Same sort of stuff supplied from Tierod69, or ECP. Usually Pagid stuff or similar, which is reasonable quality for the price. :D
  11. Ecu relay is 30 iirc, fuel pump will be either 67,80, or 167 dependant on time of manufacture. :smug:
  12. Oh right, i wasnt sure if youbhad changed the stat already is all.
  13. Red-x making it worse is probably just coincidence. Start off with the cheap and easy stuff. Replace ECU and fuel pump relays, and go from there. :D
  14. Run it up from cold with the expansion tank cap off. With the stat at 90, rev it up to about 2.5k rpm for 30 second periods. Do it a few times until the coolant starts bubbling up, then switch off and rinse any overflowed off with fresh water. Top up to max, job done. If you've not already done it, swap your stat out with a new o-ring and get a new housing as well to be safe. Its only a few quid, that with some fresh coolant should see it working much more efficiently anyway. :thumbleft:
  15. 1. I'm in the Navy, although soon to be medically discharged for an ear infection! 2. I played for Bristol City Junior reds until I was 12 3. I've only been into the car thing for about 18 months, after having to replace the whole front end of the wifes Corsa the week after she passed her driving test!
  16. Only other thing really is water in your heater ducts. Check the seal from the bay where the heater matrix pipes enter through the fire wall. If alot of water went in through the seal when you washed it, it could have collected in the matrix housing.
  17. Welcome mate! Have a look on the build threads, or google images for pics etc, as this will help you identify roughly where everything goes. Register on VAGCAT, as the catalogue with part numbers has diagrams of where they go/are etc. You should then be able to cross reference part numbers on your sensors etc with where they should be provided they are OE parts. Alternatively, if someone on here is close, they could help you out. I wont be local to you for a fair few weeks yet unfortunately!
  18. It wont help but shouldnt affect it so much as to reduce efficiency as much as your seeing. So long as your oil temp gets above 70 iirc, then it should run as intended. Not entirely sure how it switches over from cold to warm map, as the ECU is pretty primative, but I'm sure someone could point that out. Obviously the longer it takes to warm up, the longer your running rich.
  19. That's not good. It shouldn't really rise above 90. Are you sure you bled it properly? With 2 stag fans, I can't remember exactly, but the first one should kick in around 94, and second around 98. Run it up to warm at idle with the bonnet open, and watch for them to come on individually. If there only coming on together at high temp, it suggests the first stage has been bypassed due to a fault somewhere in the past, or it's just another dodgy sensor. I'm sure someone else will confirm though, mines just single fan so I'm guessing a bit here!
  20. Yep. Should be an inspection/timing hole at the top of the gearbox for it. Its usually a green bung covering it.
  21. When do you go Tim? Can you PM me your address, my Mum lives in Bristol (Oldland Common) and I'll ask her Husband if he can do me a massive favour and pick em up from you. Cheers fella! Edit, also if you have the nearside rear stub axle spindle I'll get him to bung you a few quid too! Cheers mate!.:thumbleft:
  22. Hi Rod, do you have the Nearside rear stub axle spindle? I bought some cheap bearings and the outer one disintigrated scoring the spindle. Its killed another bearing set now so I really need one if its in good nick. Cheers, Sean.
  23. Don't see why not. Its just a switch after all, and they are pretty primative so as long as the pin outs and wiring is in the right place, there shouldn't be a problem. Clocks on the other hand may be a completely different ball game!

    Overcooling

Still the same here. I replaced the Stat and flushed and replaced coolant with G12++ but still no different. Had a few more pressing problems of late, I may change the stat again though to be sure, as its an ECP one. One of the more pressing problems being that I replaced rear bearings with ECP ones on Thursday. One only lasted from work to home before disintigrating with the outer race welding itself to the hub! Sorted now, but there is some scoring on the hub, and I have the MOT tomorrow. Obviously I'm a little dubious of the quality from ECP now! I go to the stealer for most things, and bearings are added to the list now, even at near £50 a side!
  25. Mk3 Golf early 8v GTI engine is the 2E, late is AGG. :smug:
