1. If paid for via Paypal - they'll get you a refund. You'll need to open a dispute with them explaining everything you have just said. Paypal will do the rest
2. Systematically check all seals in that case, I'd start with the hoses first. Eliminate each one:
3. Had the same problem on mine. Try cleaning the header tank sensor. Bridge the 2 pins with a piece of wire to see if the light goes out. If light goes out you're low on water or the sensor in header tank has crap all over it. Clean the sensor with ISO or brake / clutch cleaner (the stuff evaporates almost immediately so good for electrical). A soft wire brush helps. What engine is it?
4. Why do you own a Corrado if you don't like the look of it? I'll never understand why people want to chop cars up... Personally, If you're serious about it then go for it - You've got an awful lot of work to do to get it right though. They're totally different shapes, the body shop components themselves - getting these uniform would be a serious undertaking. Get it wrong and will look like a turd I was curious so threw this together over a brew:
5. Seen them yeah, for 120 odd bills ($) plus shipping and duty (might be possible to get round the duty I suppose) I dunno - they're fairly straight forward to make so might do this instead.
6. Thanks Martin but I'm looking for an early 7 slat badgless - JMC it's all yours ;)
7. Stumbled accross this looking for something else on VAGCAT (Online Parts Catalogue)
8. Best bet would be to fit new central locking and alarm system in that case. Once this is sorted you can focus on the locking barrels
9. Presume central locking is key only and not a fob?
10. Sounds like heater matrix to me. Think there's a how-to guide to replacing this somewhere on the forum
11. Did it come with a G60 debadged 7 slat grill or the newer debagded 3 slat? If yes are you willing to sell it?
12. Should have said this last night - Will the key you have open your boot? If so get in through the boot, lock doors from the inside and crawl back out. The boot locking barrel has a quarter turn in it that allows you to either open the boot by a press of the barrel button or to open manually with a key. Your ignition key MIGHT at least allow you to do this giving you access to the vehicle
13. Hi Jim, No dramas mate, perhaps they're using a different supplier now? I asked the seller before I bought them re knock sensor and they said I would be able to unscrew one end to fit it (if I even had one on my car! see previous post), think they may have sent me the wrong ones that's all. Have asked for a refund anyway, hopefully I'll be able to get my money back with little hassle. I'll need to get a impulse sender as I don't have one - Can somebody clear something up for me: What does the pinned plug attach to? See indication below I presume the ECU? ANSWER: Connector from ECU (length of wire from ECU to engine bay)
14. Yep - Got sh*t loads of em! Checked all other fuses while I was at it too and all good.
15. Fitted NGK Spark plugs (BKUR7ET) and all good. However, I bought OE HT Leads (see spec below) I was told that they could be unscrewed to fit original knock sensor if necessary etc - This unfortunately wasn't the case... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CORRADO-GOLF-PASSAT-1-8-2-0-16V-86-IGNITION-LEADS-111-/230829314293?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35be7fd0f5#ht_535wt_844&clk_rvr_id=375367674945 I removed my old leads and found nothing that even resembled a knock sensor, or sensor of any type that could be screwed on to the dizzy end of plug 4 for that matter??? There was nothing attached to plug 4 at all, inside or outside. It appears I've been running the car without one! Not sure what the implications of doing this are, I gather I shouldn't be running the car without one, perhaps somebody could explain, even a pic of the sensor would be useful(!) I plan to send the leads back anyway and fit leads that already have the knock sensor installed - should have done this in the first place really but I presumed I had a knock sensor already fitted to the car, which it turns out i don't. Made sense to go for OE replacement leads which were £60.00 as opposed to £125.00 with knock sensor installed. Fitting the sensor sounded a piece of p*ss to do too. What a pain in the ars* ---------- Post added at 8:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 8:32 PM ---------- BTW replaced cam cover gasket set and manifold gasket no problem, cleaned throttle body too while I was at it - No probs here. Thanks David for the heads up
16. Go keyless and get yourself central locking and alarm system Alternatively contact VW and give them your chassis number, they may be able to sort you out a new key
17. Ahh fuse 4! That's the one (not the first time this has happened couldn't remember which fuse I changed last time) Mines a 92'. Nice one
18. Like what you did here - I'm in the process of sorting all my electrics out (have a smoothed front bumper also) and was wondering - Did the original bumper indicators drop directly into the your head lights or did you have to modify anything? My current setup: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?75804-Headlight-lamp-configuration
19. I left my rear wiper on last night as I turned the car off and now it won't badge - think I popped a fuse. Anyone know the fuse position for rear a 16V 2.0 rear wiper? Cheers,
20. Original scuttle panels cr*p - try these: http://www.swgmotorsport.com/asps/ShowDetails.asp?id=173
21. As a dog owner myself I totally respect this :thumbleft: Out of control kids should be no where near animals - I'd love to see a kid try to strangle my rottweiler! In fairness though he's a big dumb dog and would probably just sit there weezing and choking wondering what the kid is trying to do to him and how long he can sit it out for??!
