2. I’m struggling to find these two parts at a sensible price.... 1h0 422 875 (a) 191 422 884 (a) 9 and 10 on the attached For 96 vr6 - not sure of importance/relevance of the a Can anyone help/advise/assist Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
3. Do you have the piece of square(ish)black plastic that sits behind the driver side headlight and in front of the air box that is attached via a screw at the top to the slam panel. Someone/something has just pinched mine off the drive last night Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
4. I honestly dread to think what this lot of treats may have cost me to collect over the past 3 years [emoji23][emoji23] Ahh well the time has come, off to the mechanic she goes, she better not decide she has had enough of me after this little lot.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
5. Which parts were new/refurbed? New steering knuckles etc. Any Chan e you have non Corrado VR6 parts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
6. Second question tonight... Talk to me someone about brake bias - vr6 I know they are an ar5e to remove due to bolts corroding My new shiney one in its box doesn’t have bolts supplied...aarghhh I’m assuming the originals will be shafted by my mechanic in the process of getting it off Can’t see the bolts referenced on my online ETKA (type) link and can’t find them referenced online anywhere through a google search Any one know what they are, really cannot be bothered with another trip to VW. Last time I went the parts lad said “what’s a Corrado?! Edd Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
7. Ok so have a set of 288 calipers I bought some years ago and stuck them on the shelf, they had been refurbished when I bought them but much the same as me they had probably been sat on the shelf waiting a while for a project that did not happen Now I’m getting round to getting the work done on mine and have collected all the parts needed To refurbis the drivetrain and I noted that the calipers did not have banjo bolts fitted and therefore were assumably left dry I have managed to push the brake pistons out using a foot pump (so not seized) and it looks like the internals have had some form or light red grease applied the pistons look ok but there is some light corrosion to the internals. From what I’ve read so far it seems that corrosion to the pistons is the biggest problem not the caliper body internals What is the best way to clean the insides up, do I need to? 8. No way. That’s pretty cool Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
9. https://m.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C911447 Seems like fairly good value?! What do people think? The story about the Storm badges is 100% believable as IIRC the storm badges were sent to the dealers to install. What’s people’s opinions on the price, I’m watching this as my Green Storm is the same In terms of owners and service history car albeit with 130k on the clock and with the storm badges present and correct; (plus a set of B12’s) But.... I’m thinking I may have to sell it after this summer as it’s just not getting used anymore and my garage space is taken up with other older specimens [emoji1] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
10. Do you need to? I’d leave it until the new cable breaks or slam panels needs to come off, trumpets are discontinued item aren’t they? Edit, just read your post fully, can you tie a wire round the release mech (that the trumpet pulls) to get bonnet free if trumpet is not located properly? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
11. Mine are some of the ones with 8513002 but I just put front lowering caps on right from the start because I’d had the b12 kit sat in my shed for a few years before and therefore had little recourse from the group buy, plus I would not know if I had a problem until I put them on. As it happens if i didn’t put the lowering caps on I think it would possibly sit slightly low at the rear, but in fact I actually ended up with just the right drop for my taste and it seems to sit very level all round now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
12. If you can’t see photos on iPhone log on via webpage rather than Tapatalk app. Thats the way it is for me....
13. 1st photo 92 vr6 with Koni TA and H&R setup 2nd photo 95 vr6 storm with B12 - also with front lowering caps. Edit both running standard 15” wheels Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
14. Koni TA, i assume it stood for top adjustable (damping) as there was a dial you could use on the top to adjust the damping rate to suit.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
15. B12’s definitely well received when all is right and good, and I am running them on my Storm, but I’m sure there was someone recently that (even now) ended up with one of the dodgy kits (with the wrong rear springs) that had been kicking around at the back of the warehouse and with their reported “don’t give a f&£k” levels of customer service is that a risk you want to take. I ran H&R and TA’s on a previous VR6 for years and loved the ride. I actually have a set of used h&r springs sat waiting in case I want to go back to them If you are running standard currently then wait for the improvement in handling, best thing you can do to an original VR6... 16. Anyone with the 288mm conversion able to measure theirs when they have front wheels off? I have found a link online that is recommending 510mm (I think) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
17. Still not come to a definite conclusion on the required front brake line length yet. Anyone? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

21. So, has anyone ever come up with a more reasonably priced solution to a new bonnet cable nipple/trumpet. Cheapest new one on eBay is £20 and Volkswagen classic parts Germany have them for 8 euros but want 32 euros to post it to uk Anyone know if they are still available from the dealers? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
22. From this.... http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?5658892-VR6-brakes-bajo-bolt-picture-request#/topics/5658892 It looks like in need this? https://www.ecstuning.com/b-original-equipment-supplier-parts/banjo-bolt-priced-each-m10x15/82703/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
23. Hi all I know this has been done to death apologies for this but I’m after some reassurance and some clarity I’m just buying all the last components I need to do the full underside replacement I.e. refurbished front and rear subframes, brakes, engine mounts, bushes, steering arms, hubs, brakes, copper brakes lines, bolts stub axles, splash guards etc etc (basically everything) My query is about the front flexible brake lines required for the calipers that I think I have (I bought them refurbed from eBay prob 2 years ago). I believe the calipers to be 288 54mm mk3 items, they were sold as Corrado vr6 288mm upgrades - they have been powder coated/painted so it is not easy to see a part number... Firstly - do the photos look correct in regards to this, I.e. do they look like the correct calipers!? Secondly, do these require banjo type flexible hoses (I’m not entirely sure what this is) and if so do these calipers therefore require a banjo bolt/insert that screws into the caliper body that the banjo hoses fit over, currently these just have a thread for something to screw into!? Thirdly - if I need banjo type braided hoses I have read that the golf mk3 ones in some instances were too short!? Any help gleefully accepted!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
24. I’ve got a maroon one you can take away but I’m in malvern midlands. Got some paint scratches through to metal but no dents. Would need a respray Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
