there is a pipe that goes from the engine block into the airbox,take it off and make sure its clear

ive used greenstuff pads for many years now,had them on my mk2 16v and now on my vr6,and i would not change them for anything...my wheels stay clean and braking is absolutely perfect

yes the vw exhaust lasts well..but are you willing to fork out for a:)to pay for the rear axle to be lowered in order to fit the oe system ..or b:) get the exhauast cut then re-welded to fit or c:)c get an aftermarket exhaust that fits on with no problems....ie MAGNEX

i used to use silkolene on my my mx bikes and would not use anything else

take a look at your service documents and see what oil was being used,i was using vw quantum,but the engine seemed to be using a lot of oil,when i looked at my service documents all the dealers was putting shell helix in at servicing,so i tried it and oil consumption dropped dramatically

the thinners i used is actually thicker than petrol,i got it from where i used to work,cant remember what its called but it wasnt cheap :)

not water...only had thinners handy so i used that

just did a leak down test on the vr6,only tried it on no.1 cylinder,and the liquid i used pretty much came out of the sump plug hole in a steady flow...looks like ill need a new engine :roll: :cry:

what have i done...umm took out engine and gearbox,cleaned gearbox and painted it silver,just started degreasing the engine

where can you get them from in the uk,might get one seeing as my gearbox is lying on my garage floor

you can get 2 pack paints which are iascyanide free,so not as bad as previous,but as with all paints inhalation is not recommended

i used to get it,got so bad sometimes i had to close the door with my foot,but since i put leather seats in its been ok

dont forget bently is aimed at the us version which has less bhp than the uk vr6
