  1. I think I'm right in saying, get a 2.0 16v passat bottom end from a scrap yard and just bolt it onto your 1.8L head to give your engine a conversion to 2.0L. There is a bit more to this conversion but not a huge amount. Also go for the 50mm inlet manifold of a Golf MK2. Keep your VW exhaust manifold but get it matched to the head along with your inlet manifold. Along with the other usual bits and bobs, exhaust, filter, leads, plugs, etc you should have a car with plenty of grunt!!!!!! My mate spent money on a TSR 16V manifold and it was no better than the standard VW one! :(
  2. Cheers was going to take them apart but my Hannes manual say to replace the retaining bolts. I'm aware that the Hannes manul is a bit obsessed with replaceing bolts every time you undo any! Is it esential and should I just replace the rear disks while I've go the calipers off? Supercharged, You say that they may be seized? There defo not completely seized but how can I test if they are a bit seized? :?

    Brakes??

I have a sqeeking and grinding brake somewhere. It only happens at low speed, pulling up to junctions, etc. I've had all my wheels off to inspect the pads and there all pritty meaty. Being a Golf G60 it has disks on the back and I'm convinced that this is where the sqeeking is coming from. It could be the brake disks but they don't seem to be warped. They are pritty warn though a few mm. Could somebody give me some more mechanical knowledge on brakes? I think the rear brakes are the same as those on non VR6 corrado's.
  4. cheers lennylogknob, I phoned around and 8" will go but it takes a lot of arch modding!
  5. Its not the pcd I'm woried about its the 8" on the back that could be a problem.
  6. Does anyone know if a set of porsche 928 S4 alloys will fit a camper van? There size 16"x7 front which I know will fit. The rears are 16"x 8 which may or may not fit??? Maybe they'll fit if the rear arch is rolled but does the side sliding door then get in the way? Need to know ASAP so I can sell my 928 alloys and get other goodies for weekend!!!
  7. I think it is being caused by the old jaba sport chip that I have from aroung 1999 I think but not 100% on its source. I think I'll get that SNS chip fitted then get it rolling roaded at dubsport or something like that. I think there is a bit of a flatspot now and again but only small and probably on the first time its opened out. So thats nothing to worry about. I'll just enjoy giving nova, corsa and saxo(sorry jim) boys even more of a shock when the come accross g-lader power!!!! It'd be cool if I could get a mate to take a picture while I overtake him! It'd make the best avatar!
  8. Are they easy to fit if you get one with a sensor?
  9. There is fire coming out of my exhaust! It seems to happen at the top of 3rd and in second when slowing down. The car has just had its timeing sorted out proparly at a main Bosch dealer who have an execllent reputation. They said that there was a problem with the ECU, I have a print out which I will scan in for those with tech knowledge. I know the fire is proppably just it running to rich but is there anything else that could cause this. The reason I ask is that the first time the engine was setup it was pinking loads now the second time it doesn't seem as healthy and the fire! The problem is that the timming is way off what it should be. But its piss!ng me off now I just want it to run absoulutly sweet! In the mean time though It doesn't bother me that while I scream off into the distance all the chaseing cars see's is a flash of flames as I dissapear!!
  10. I don't know about any good but there no exactly cool, fashionable. I'm sure if my dad was building a classic car he would go for champion. jims16v, Love the new avatar!!!
  11. I'd have a GT40, cosworth RS500, and all the dubs in my garage. I've seen a screen shot of the GT40 and it looked awsome. The corrado must be a VR6 or a 16v as its a 93? Its a shame that there's no Golf Rallye that would of made my day. If they had it, do you think that in the mods section they'd have a chip and pulley! It'd be great.
  12. What it looked like when I bought it. You may recognise the wheels, henny's got them on his C now
  13. WOW, YE-HA!!!!!!!!!!! Thats amazing that they have permision to use so many car's. I work for a computer games company who specialise in the production of car raceing games. For some reason car companys are really funny about leting you use there cars image. The tend to have a paddy if you want it to show damage when you hit a wall at 100mph. Some have even be known not to allow tyre damage! I bet that this version on the GT licence still doesn't have damage on it. Allthough I did hear a rumor that it did, fingers crossed!
  14. G60, The story's been taken offline at sony's request. So they have the VW licence?
  15. A blue cap? The one on mine shackes around like a nuter!!
  16. That silver MK1 is cool. But the owner needs to stop sticking more bits onto it! It gone slightly over board now. When it was magazine featured it was perfect. I guess its hard to stop moding once you've started.
  17. These supersport coilovers from venom look pritty good. They'll go right down to -120mm if I ever felt the need and there german made with TUV certificate. Anything thats TUV approved has to be of good quality.
  18. Henny, The essay was sorted. Even I understood most of it! :? :) There around £400 at Venom. I think he's given you the set which has the better finish, which are a bit more. Anybody else herd anything about these supersport coilovers?
  19. Cheers Henny, I've read that essay of advice on the messed up G60, sounds good to me. How much was that supersport kit? There's two different finishes you can go for as well, carnt remember what. But which did you go for?
  20. 8vg60, Darren what wheels are on that Corrado parked next to your mates four door Mk1? Is it your car with your Borbets on? Love the silver one! One of those fiz dash thingys would go mint in my Golf. I think they even plug strait in!! yummy!
  21. 8vg60, Darren I know I keep on buying stuff I don't need! I want coilovers but they'll have to wait till the rims are sorted. I think Henny's got some SuperSport coilovers which are only £400 which he's pritty happy with. What they like Henny? (you online?)

    17`s

stormseeker, What are you a science teacher? LOL
  23. Anybody got any RacLand coilovers? There SO cheap I may have to get some. I wouldn't expect them to be as good as any well known make. But for £278 compared to £800 they have to be worth trying out!
