Riley 0 Posted April 8, 2005 they finally turned up! :D thing is i aint too familiar with corrado/mk3 type suspension. im gonna replace front top mounts at same time,is there anything else? what about the rear, are there 2 rubbers like on mk1/mk2 golfs? and any general tips? are the front struts camber adjustable with the top bolt like on the golfs? any pics/info appreciated. cheers, neil. 8)
stevemac 0 Posted April 8, 2005 Blue_Joe & I fitted a set of these to his G60 a few weeks ago. Fit new top mounts front & rear. The rear top mounts are a 2 piece arrangement - just like the MK2 Golf. You'll need to get the camber aligned once they're fitted. Also change the front wishbone bushes & ball joints at the same time - unless they've already been done. G60 suspension is basically the same as the MK2 Golf - only stronger, due to the extra vehicle weight. Only MK3 Golf thing to concern yourself with is the front wishbone bushes. carpoid 0 Posted April 13, 2005 its dropped 3.5 inch! whats that in mm??? 3.5" is about 85 mm !! Mines only come down about 55 - 60 but its completely changed the stance of the car, feels like you really look down on the roof !! Had to put a 50mm spoiler on aswell

Shilakadaddy 0 Posted April 13, 2005 Riley, did you replace the top mounts when fitting these then? I'd be interested to know if you get any clunking noises etc. after fitting, as I haven't had chance to replace any other suspension parts since fitting mine, and the car makes some fairly evil noises now :( Your car looks much better now too
Furkz 0 Posted April 13, 2005 good luck riley, can see u getting some grief that LOWWWW looks cool though

chrishill 0 Posted April 14, 2005 shilakadaddy - my valver did that after i canged the suspension and didnt swap the top mounts, it sounds like the struts are coming loose doesnt it? quite worrying! changed the top mounts and it was all hunky dory! riley - i like the dragster stance ;) leave it like that!
Bally 0 Posted April 14, 2005 thats looks sweet.. i'd have it that LOW!!!
GIXXERUK 0 Posted April 14, 2005 Riley, did you get the top mounts from the stealership ? i know they wont be the same but for a ball park figure , how much ? i've said it before but i've played with my coilovers and theres a fine line between looking low and looking tired and saggy looks good mate cheers
Riley 0 Posted April 14, 2005 cheers guys. :D GIXXERUK, i do try to go for genuine parts where i can,but i got the top mounts from a local parts company who my m8 uses at his garage, theyre sks? he said theyre a good make and come from germany. £20 a side,i think they were £30 a side at the stealers? thing is im skint and ill probably be selling it when ive got rid of some other motors. neil. Riley 0 Posted April 14, 2005 aye i was a bit suprised m8,im used to paying around £12 a side for the mk1's :!: i was gonna just go the whole hog and buy new wishbones/bushes/etc,i normally do so i know everythings right, but i just went for the rear top rubbers as well as fronts,in fact dunno how much they are yet  neil. Shilakadaddy 0 Posted April 15, 2005 ah well sounds like mine might need replacing then... I'm also gonna have a look at the rear bushes and see what can be done to stop some creaking I've got coming from the back... my cars just a bundle of joy to drive at the moment
24V Renshaw 0 Posted April 15, 2005 Put VR top mounts in the front, they are waaaaayyyy better than the 16v/G60 ones. Cheap as chips from G&S aswell. Jay
Riley 0 Posted April 15, 2005 if only id have known that before :!: ahh well, fitted the rears today,im not happy with the stance yet, think it either needs dropping more on the rear or raising a touch on the front. thing is though, there seems to be some strange noises, cant work out what they are. couldnt fit the metal plates on the rear shock towers either,is this normal? why is modified stuff never perfect! :x neil. stevemac 0 Posted April 15, 2005 Shilakadaddy, Creaking at the back may just be the bottom shocker bushes. Loosen the bottom shocker mounting bolts slightly & bounce the car a couple of times before re-tightening the bolts. Do not jack the car up to do any of this - tightening the bolts with the rear end jacked up will cause these bushes to creak.
