Whats the quickest accelerating car you've ever been in, owned and most interesting car you've experienced.........

 

457bhp cossie escort for me, very quick but quite horrid too. Felt impossible that it could do what it did without breaking something, which it inveribly did :lol: quick none the less.

 

Ferrari Mondial sticks in my mind A because i was in a ferrari and B because it was gutless, weezy and a bit pants! Very dissapointing.

 

911 for the brakes.

 

My dads friends Healey 3000 for torque and prob the best sound i've ever heard in my life 8)

 

Fastest car ive owned (hopefully to change soon) 200 s14 200sx, but it felt like a plastic hair dryer that had been on a character removal course.

Quickest i've been in has to be my mate's 550bhp Skyline (which is undergoing another power increase!) Had me giggling like a school girl..

Quickest car i've owned is my VR now it's charged. Before that it would've been a close call between that and my old GTE16v.

Most interesting car i've experienced? Tough one. My brothers VW camper is great fun to drive, but at the same time scares the hell out of you when you try to stop the thing!

Quickest car i've been in / driven I guess would have to be either the Impreza STI WRX or Ferrari 355 both of which were on my car driving experience. The Ferrari I guess would come into its own at speed but the Impreza was just hilariously quick.. easy to see how you'd get into one of those from your average 1.8 litre family hatchback and immediately want one because the power delivery is just beserk! :)

Fastest i've driven would be a M3 chipped and tuned to about 390BHP - That was quick.

Quickest I've been in without a doubt was a TVR Tuscan race car - the acceleration was bordering on the uncomfortable

 

Quickest car I've owned has been a Grinnall Scorpion - 150BHP with an all up weight of 450kgs, six speed sequential gearbox, awesome on the road as long as it was dry, frightening in the wet

 

Most interesing was probably a friends Maserati Bora - so subtle for an Italian supercar

Fastest i've driven is probebly a testarossa, I couldn't get on with the gearbox, but as soon as it was in gear it went like fook! :lol:

most interesting... hmm, hard to say. Not a particularly interesting car, but when the primera GT first came out I was taken around the nissan test track in one at the sunderland plant which was an interesting experiance at least. A mates dad had a 'sherwood' kit car which was fairly cool, but i think the car I'll always remember is the mk3 cortina coupe I got a lift home in while doing work experiance from school. It was brilliant white with black slats on the rear window, big fat rear tyres and little skinny front ones, 8-ball on the ariel, bonnet scoop, the whole bit. I'd never seen anything like it before let alone been driven at brakeneck speed down country lanes in one by a guy i'd just met and scrounged a lift home off because he lived close to me.

I used to work for a tuning company a while back and got a lot of exotic cars in most will compress your eye balls into the back of your head! :crazyeyes:

They all had big power,but we had our own race car a Morgan +4 built two litre supercharged running on methanol kicked out 365 BHP on the rollers,also weighed about 600kg ! all alloy and wood !

 

This thing was mental on the road and i will start to build my own one at some point when funds allow,got most panels and chassis already tucked away :wink:

Well some of you guys are real lucky. Been in some nice cars my self, but as for sporty, well erm probably only one - the Westfield Sport. With acceleration like the bike, it was a hoot; then cornering would piss on anything under £50k. Been passenger in a Boxter S, but wasn't impressed. Been in a few track cars but that doesnt count. As for top speed, that has to be on a bike; upper 3figs on a 750, again on track.

 

As for owned, its early days. Its the sluggish C. But thats ok, as the C is for otehr things too. Whereas teh bike is for seeing off everything 4 wheeled.

Fastest car i have been in is my mates scooby STI which he has had tuned to about 330bhp and does 0-60 in 4.5 secs so that was pretty cool, they are funy cars to be in scoobies cuz they are normal family cars inside but they go like stink!

 

I havent driven a lot of cars really but the fastest car i have driven is Ben's (bluevr6rado) corrado vr6 technically although my dads Audi A4 2.5 TDI Quattro feels a lot faster but thats just down to the MASSIVE torque it has being a big turbo diesel but on paper it is meant to be a bit slower than the vr. And again i drove my mates Audi A3 1.8 T Sport which has 150bhp and that felt quick but thats cuz its a turbo and power kicks in low down but on paper thats a lot slower than the vr.

 

All that said tho the fastest THING i have been on is my race prepped Yamaha R1 motorbike which is tuned to about 180bhp and stripped down so thats a lot faster than any car mentioned in this thread and will 0-100 in the times some do 0-60 :lol:

Best I can manage for quickest car was as a passenger and Henny taking me out for a trip around the block - torque is good.

 

Quickest car I own is the C for top end and the roc for 0-60.

 

Best noise has to be the thrum of my Triumph, 2 litres of straight 6 makes an awesome noise.

good addition - fastest I've been was an indicated 150mph in the VR with H8RRA (pre mental engine) and Chrisvr6 nos right behind me. whats the margin for error? 10% overread? probably more like 135mph if thats the case, still had to change my pants afterwards though.

Fastest car I've owned? tricky question... My MKI 16V was faster than my Corrado 0-100, (0-60 was down around 5.5 seconds!) but it ran out of gearbox at around 120mph... However, my Corrado's getting close to that accelleration now (around 6.1 to 60 achieved so far according to my GPS tracker) and I've had the engine upto 139.8mph (GPS verified) at Brunters when it was in J-DUB, so she should be good for a couple more MPH now it's more powerful and in a lighter shell...

 

Fastest car I've driven? hmmm... probably a Nissan skyline a mate imported which was over 800bhp! :crazyeyes: It had so much electronic trickery that it was almost boring to drive, but it was bloody quick (think we topped it out at around 180mph without really trying! :oops: )

Quickest was a kit car of some sort which my friends dad built. Quickest ive owned is my vr.

 

The most interesting ive driven is either a post war soviet tank or something called a foden GS army recovery vehicle with a huge crane on the back!
