Sean_Jaymo 0 Posted January 15, 2010 Lol No probs! Thanks :) Well the Corrado replacement has arrived, It is a X reg Polo GTi 3 door... No Corrado by any stretch but a bit more comfortable on the daily commute and a bit better on fuel. I will get some pics up for those of you who want to see an old polo :) Luckily I have been running this instead of the Rado as I think the splitter would have long gone other wise or I would have beached myself in the snow! Not as good on the old juice as you would think either, only about 4-6mpg better... Still it's perfect for a daily runner! In the mean time, the Polo just wasn't cutting it so I pick this little beaut up next weekend! Not the most practical daily but I have hankered after one for years and thought I best get it out of the way before I get to the point of having kids, expensive mortgages etc! Sean_Jaymo 0 Posted April 19, 2010 Well that was short and sweet! Overtaking some traffic yesterday when the engine let go! Loud knocking and as I pulled into a side road not more than 20 seconds later, the whole thing stalled and won't restart.... The AA guy reckons its a dropped valve but not too sure, usually they will still run on the other 5 cylinders. Do timing chains break?!? Happy? Nope! Will see what the warranty is made of though! I've already found out it won't pay for diagnostics! That's one hell of a bill for me before they even tell me what's wrong! Oh well! Back in Team Polo for now! I'm going to make the previous owner aware of what has happened but not jump to any conclusions until I know the full story, The car was beautifully sweet until it went. The specialist is going to take it apart this afternoon and let me know what's what. Hopefully nothing "TOO" major!
